Also, not sad to see anything go tonight! I enjoy every song, but they have all done incredibly well. Getting so close to the top 20 in a year like this one is no small task!
(And I am not going to mention this, but I am incredibly thrilled about the fact that 45% of the remaining songs are in my top 10! ;) )

I could make an argument for so many of the songs left winning it all. It was much easier to predict the top 5-10 with the 2016 and 2015 rankdowns, considering it was so recent and we all knew how the rest viewed every song. It's just harder in this one. A rankdown from 12 years ago is really, really fun. It's been a blast so far zaclord 🌈 . :) We need to do 2004, 2006 and 2007 in the future.

I know Castle wants to do one from the 90s too which would be fun!

Pleasantly surprised at this one's placement too. I could've seen this one getting out in the 60s/70s but its a fantastic song, imo.

I love this more than anything Blake has released since. Only "Austin" is a song from him that I'd say I like more.

This is probably my favorite LeAnn song, and top 5 or close to it with RF. Not close to a favorite of mine from Alan though - this one long overstayed it's welcome.

Blake's version of "Goodbye Time" is good but I like Conway Twitty's version just a tad more.

The last two nights were great for me, so I knew it was only a matter of time for the other shoe to drop.
Sad to see "If Heaven" go. Surprised to see @leonblair wasn't big on a Gretchen Peters song.
"Goodbye Time" is great, but it's hard for me to rank a cover that doesn't match the original especially high.
"Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" is mesmerizing. Very probably the best thing Rimes has ever done.
"Fast Cars and Freedom" - finally.
I thought "Monday Morning Church" had a shot at the whole enchilada, but I should have realized a slow, sad, unabashedly traditional song could only go so far. Happy to see it made the top 20.

"Probably Wouldn't be This Way" is a timeless classic and one of the most bleak and depressing looks on life after losing someone.
Leann Rimes sounds flawless on it. If there is a lyric that stands out is
"Sometimes I feel that I'm so lucky to have had the chance to love this much"
The music video is amazing as well. When Leann Rimes is in the bathtub and she attempts to drown herself is so hard to watch.
A perfect tune and I am so happy it made the Top 20

all of these are great songs. If Heaven is incredible, enjoy Goodbye Time a lot and is probably one of my favorite Blake Shelton songs ever.
Probably Wouldn't Be This Way is incredible but I cannot listen to it for a few reasons and it is why I didn't rank it higher. Amazing song and amazing performance though
Fast Cars and Freedom stayed on a lot longer than I anticipated. I enjoy the song and this was back when I liked most everything Rascal Flatts released but this song wasn't a favorite then and still isn't
Monday Morning Church is a great song. Probably in my top 5 Alan Jackson songs ever. Glad it made it this far cause I didn't really expect it to tbh
I only have 3 top 10 songs left and 1 song from my bottom 20 which is a song some people think will win. It could but out of all the songs remaining is the one I hope doesn't end up #1 the most

Never been a big Rascal Flatts fan, but I love "Fast Cars And Freedom". It's easily the best thing they've done. Well, maybe tied with "What Hurts The Most".

"Who You'd Be Today" is borrrrring. Gross @ "Stay With Me (Brass Bed)" and "Nothin' To Lose" not making the top 20 :( excellent songs. "That's What I Love About Sunday" has a really nice country melody and Craig Morgan's voice is excellent on it. No complaints about it's placement, even tho I ranked it quite a bit lower than it ended up. I don't get the appeal of Tim and Faith as individual artists and I definitely don't get it when they do duets. That said, what saves "Like We Never Loved At All" a bit for me is a fairly decent vocal arrangement and instrumentation. This got WAY too far though. I had no problem listening to it when CMT used to play it, but it's not one I've had any desire to keep up with over the years. "If Heaven" is good but I can't believe it made it so far. Musically, it's not a very interesting song. It's melodically very country though, so perhaps that has something to do with it. And of course so many people are a sucker for these types of lyrics lol. Ugh at "Goodbye Time" making top 20. I HATED this song back then. However, listening to it for the rankdown purposes, I realized that the vocal arrangement is decent. I just don't like the beat AT ALL. That's the worst part of the song for me and makes it near impossible for me to even tolerate. I don't really care for his voice on it either. Definitely not a song I wanted to listen to back then or now. I remember absolutely LOATHING "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way" when it was released. It was completely unlistenable for me. I have no idea what happened lol, but I owned the album and one day when I was listening to the song is CLICKED and then I went from hating it to absolutely loving it. It's a beautiful song melodically, lyrically, and vocally. I don't know why it wasn't instant for me! My mom always hated this song, even after I started getting into it lol. I tried to change that but she wouldn't budge on this one "Fast Cars and Freedom" is an excellent song and I bet a few people were shocked to see me rank a Rascal Flatts song at #10 lol. However zaclord 🌈 that live music video version you posted is HORRENDOUS!! I never listen to that. They sound awful and so do the instruments. I listen to the studio and was basing my ranking off that. If I based it on the music video version, I can guarantee it would have been in my BOTTOM 10, not top 10 lol. Good riddance to "Monday Morning Church" I hate that it made it this far.

Damn, I've now lost 3 from my top 5 including my number 1 and 2. I figured "Monday Morning Church" didn't have a shot at winning but I'm glad it at least made it this far. I absolutely love sad country songs and this is one of my all time favorites. We very rarely hear these type of songs on the radio anymore and I miss them a lot!

Just as in 2005, I am not familiar with many of the songs in 2006. However, I may be willing to play in order to get "Your Man" to win. Seriously, the instrumentation in that song is so damn incredible.
