Wow, surprised I wasn't the lowest ranker for SUAD. Really happy it didn't win the whole thing, I can dig a Something From Nothing victory!

When I started tracking the scores, Lydia was #1, then Foos took the lead iirc, and were leading for a while, then SUAD took over, then Foo returned to #1 after Figurative sent me her list.

Great top 10, though I'd replace Ship to Wreck with another song, but even that song is still pretty good.

Even though you're my 'enemy' Nah, it's cool. It's just a game. Don't take it too seriously. Really, I'm fine. :) Looking forward to more results in your Hip Hop rankdown!

This was fun as always, despite my blood pressure spiking higher than I'd like a few times. There were so many great songs this year that I wasn't really disappointed with anything in the Top 10 (outside of maybe Ship To Wreck), and incredibly surprised that Lydia and both Royal Blood songs made it in.

So if aero participated in 2015 year end rankdown than shut up and dance wouldn't have won eh?

Lmao how poetic that it lost by a slim margin. I actually like it, although it has burned on me. Also, this was a really good list. More importantly, YAY Something from Nothing! Such an amazing song.

So when are we starting 2014? lol I'm going to compile the list soon, but from now onwards until the 2017 rankdown, I may not be doing closeness rankings since it takes a lot of time and I'm starting school again in mid-April and I want to focus more on my school work.

"Figure It Out" - I'm also glad this one outranked "Little Monster". This stands out a lot more to me.
"Ghosts of Beverly Drive" - Happy to see this in the Pulse top 10, even though it just missed mine.
"Little Monster" - Exhibit A of this board overrating heavier songs. It's better than most of the stuff on Active, but it still sounds rather generic to me.
"Dreams" - My #1 is out. I really thought this would go top 5.
"Ship To Wreck" - Also would have been great if this went top 5, but I'm somewhat surprised it made it this far.
"Lydia" - Exhibit B of this board overrating heavier songs. I like it more than "Little Monster", but it's still not anywhere near top 5-worthy in my book.
"Lampshades on Fire" - Got the prediction right for this one. Worthy of being in the top 3, though it just barely cracked my top 10.
"Shut Up and Dance" - Thought this would be #1; didn't make my top 10, but I would have rather seen it over...
"Something From Nothing" - This was certainly a strong top 5 contender, though it only was in the 30s for me. Still, no huge shocker considering the Foos' popularity on this board, and the #1 certainly could have been a lot worse.

I'm disappointed this is so low. Sure it's not that good of a song (it's decent), but it's not bottom 10-awful. Wouldn't be surprised if it winds up having the lowest standard deviation of the game though Called it!

Another question: Between Chevelle's "Joyride" winning the 2016 Active rock rankdown and the Foos' "Something from Nothing" winning this rankdown, which is more surprising?

definitely Joyride, despite the wildcard pop influence on the rankdown here. Almost every poster in that rankdown said something like "I ranked it high but there's no way Joyride can win" and then we realized that everyone ranked it high so it won lol.

"Joyride (Omen)" without a doubt. That was just a bizarre and unexpected win. I thought it would be out by Top 30.
Despite the amount of pop posters here, it is the Foo Fighters, who are one of the most prolific rock acts around. I don't know a single person that doesn't like their music (not listening to them is one thing, not liking them is another). I was definitely expecting this to place Top 5 from the start. "Shut Up and Dance" seemed like a juggernaut for this, so it is still surprising.

YESSSS MY #1 WON! I stacked it a little higher to give it a shot at taking it all and also because I felt weird giving #1 to such a poppy song (Beggin for Thread) but it totally paid off! I'm not sure happy with the top 10 placement or what even made the top 10 but this makes up for it! Yay!!
Surprised Dreams is so low. In retrospect it probably wasn't a realistic #1 when SUAD is in, but I still thought it would at least get top 3. Not complaining though, it's already won so much which is why I ranked it so low.
Happily surprised Lydia made top 5, and even though they both got out quickly I'm glad both Royal Blood songs made top 10, just for the sake of heavier alt songs doing well. Not to mention that our #1 is pretty heavy too.
This was fun! I look forward to the 2015 active rankdown, as that was the first full year in which I had followed the charts and for most of that year I only looked at active. It's also the year when I found pulse (though I didn't make an account until early 2016).

Very glad to see Foo Fighters take it all. Also glad to see Lampshades on Fire miss the top though.
Y'all know Active rankdown is just gonna be Something from Nothing, Lydia, Royal Blood again

Muse doesn't finish in the top 3 of yet another rankdown. Sigh. Back to the drawing board.
(Okay, really, there wasn't enough support for "Dead Inside" to be top 3, anyway. Top 5 is fine.)
While I'm surprised that SUAD didn't end up #1, "Something From Nothing" was the one song that I thought could topple it, especially if the song did not get ENTIRELY blasted by the pop community...which, while it didn't get a lot of support, got just enough.

What I plan to do is that we'll continue to be doing alt rankdowns. I'm considering doing ones for active as well but maybe not until we finish the alternative rankdowns (I may or may not do them for every year).
