I'd honestly be extremely surprised if she chose to release new material alongside this. She's done so well with Q4 launches for project after project, that kicking a campaign off in June just doesn't seem like a move that would reap maximum rewards.
Or it could be a non-album track like another soundtrack single I guess.

A lot has changed since her infamous letter. The sheer volume of streaming numbers has changed the payouts. Plus she got Apple to dump the no-pay during trial and she cut a deal with Apple Music so it's not like she wasn't in that space anyway. If she couldn't make money from this deal, she wouldn't do it. It's perfect way to start promo for TS6 |

If there was any doubt left about Taylor being a snake.... It's massively petty and ruthless, but I don't actually find this particular move snaky? Katy and Taylor are public enemies at this point so there's nothing particularly two-faced about it in the way the RS interview was. But on that note, I also feel like she's only feeling this froggy now that Katy's down for the count - if Katy's era wasn't such a mess right now Taylor wouldn't be trying to take her head on. In that sense, Taylor comes across less like a snake and more just a schoolyard bully, which in some ways is worse. It's almost enough to make me muster up some sympathy for Katy, but Katy showed herself to not be very bright - she had no business resurrecting this old battle so she set herself up for the scalping smh. These two are determined to never let me leave the neutral zone; it's hard to root for either to be victorious. I still maintain my stance that Taylor is not a Regina, but Cady (before she sees the error of her ways). People are so quick to paint her as a villain that they forget part of Cady's story arc was that she actually became worse than Regina once she got a taste of that Plastics lifestyle. |
