If this was a male artist doing it to another artist, it would be applauded as ruthless, smart, taking care of the competition etc.
Or just think : this happens all the time in non-music related fields of business like in the auto and tech world and no one bats an eyelid and instead shrug and say :" just another day in the cut-throat world of business."
But because there are two female BUSINESS-people involved, it suddenly becomes "petty" and "immature"? NO, it's just business y'all
The double standard on display is staggering.
Guys are expected to be ruthless and scheming and do the utmost to kill off their competition and they get praised and even get a pay rise for doing so.
Girls in business (music in this case) are expected to be warm and forgiving and turn the other cheek and hold hands with the enemy and sing Kumbaya around the fire??? Yeah right.
Taylor has always been great to her fans and her charity work, mostly behind the scenes, has been probably been the highest in the celeb world. She probably is a very uptight, proper person with an almost OCD-like penchant for preplanning and hard-work but her heart towards her fans, her friends and the general public is probably in the right place.
That doesn't mean she can't ALSO be a absolute terror to those she perceives as enemies in business and like it or not, Katy Perry, with her antics in the past few weeks, was basically painting a neon sign on her own back saying : TAYLOR SWIFT RIVAL.

Per Kworb.net, she had 10 songs on yesterday's Spotify chart (US):

I don't think there is a double standard. Her inventing some contrived "feud" to capitalize on for publicity's sake to climb her way up the pop ranks would still be vile even if she was a man. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably buy her next album, but on a personal level she seems like an opportunistic asshole, even more than usual.

The first public knowledge of the feud is when taylor gave a vague hint on who bad blood is about and never actually drop any name (besides, bad blood itself is as generic of an anonymous diss song as it comes) but katy came with the regina george tweet and pretty much confirmed it's her when she could just pull a mariah and went "i don't know that" then it'll just be taylor looking bitter and katy staying classy. i'm not defending her or anything, since i think this is very shady and petty of her (though i'll be lying if i'm not incredibly amused and entertained) but she's really just taking the chance when it's there

OK, maybe because I'm a New Yorker, but I love "Welcome To New York". Yeah, I'm streaming a 2014 TS album in 2017. That's interesting. I know a lot of born and raised NYers and they feel the exact opposite. This is a tourist anthem, glamorizing NYC and making it seem like some kind of glittery utopia, where everyone breaks out into song or tap-dances in the streets. It's basically La La Land in a song. It's also quite shitty, but that's another issue I have with it. Meanwhile, I still don't see Taylor songs or albums in the Top 50 on iTunes Was this just something for Spotify?

Save for maybe 1989, I don't think any of her albums were in the top 100 before Friday.

I feel like I'm the biggest feminist around these here parts and I have even pulled that card on Taylor's behalf a few times, but I am not inclined to play it for her today. When pointing out this type of double standard, the issue is that the non-oppressed group (in this case, men) doesn't get punished or criticized for messed up behavior, NOT that someone in the oppressed group (in this case, Taylor) is getting called out for said messed up behavior. Wrong is wrong, and letting Taylor (or any other woman) off the hook for x, y, or z is not going to make it any better when men continue to do x, y, or z and get away with it. That's actually just going to make things worse. Now, that shifts the debate to what exactly makes Taylor's actions so 'wrong.' So let's run the basics down: 1. The issue started over some backup dancers, which most people felt even from the start was a trivial matter not worth blowing up. So, Taylor has a tendency to bug out over basic, minuscule matters that don't actually cost her coins and aren't worth declaring war over. 2. Katy claims that she tried to reach out to Taylor and straighten things out with her, but Taylor refused to speak to her. So, Taylor refuses to communicate with people and at least listen to someone else's side of the story before declaring a person a sworn enemy. 3. Taylor does the RS interview, obliquely shades Katy in such a way that fans can trace the story to her but then goes on to say that she "doesn't like confrontation" and will go out of her way to avoid Katy at all events. So, Taylor is yellow-bellied and doesn't even have the balls to step up to her enemies. It is here where anything else Taylor does feels ridiculous, not because there is anything wrong with being a ruthless businessperson but because Taylor's ruthlessness is almost entirely attached to her being petty and in her feelings over trivial s**t. Burning someone's house down because they are trying to bulldoze yours makes total sense, but there is nothing admirable about burning someone's house down just because you think they put a dent in your mailbox and refused to answer the phone when they called you to talk about it. And the messed up part is that 4. Taylor is not even the one who is burning Katy's house down, so to speak. She tried it with the RS interview but not only did that not affect Katy at all but then Taylor ended up having a sort of jacked up summer 2016 herself. Katy's latest era (and Katy herself) are a mess all on its own, so Taylor can't take any credit for rushing in with the catalog streaming like Smokey in Friday yelling 'you got knocked the f**k out!' after Craig went upside Deebo's head with a metal trash can. Funny to think there was a time when I defended Taylor against all the people who said she/her music was immature. I do think her writing is on par with her age, but Taylor herself is a real piece of work.

Yea, I don't think this is a sexist thing at all. She's pulled a few dick moves, and that's all there really is to it. She seems like she's great and kind to her fans and people who are good to her, but she can be ruthless and OTT against people she feels have "wronged her".
I genuinely don't care though. I'm not here to use her as my moral compass, I just want the bops and good music to continue.

Interestingly enough, there's still a few tracks missing, and it's some surprising ones.
Today Was a Fairytale - I don't know why this one is missing. The non-score soundtrack to Valentine's Day isn't available, so maybe it's out of her control?
Ours If This Was a Movie Superman ^I know these were all Target exclusives, but the 1989 Target exclusives are available. Also, "Ours" was a major single of hers.
Ronan Sweeter Than Fiction ^These two were promo singles, not on any album, EP, soundtrack, etc. One was a charity single and the other was for a documentary or something.
Breathless - To be fair, I'm not sure if a studio recording of this one exists. It was from the Haiti earthquake charity thing. I'm not sure if any of those tracks are available.
Bad Blood remix with Kendrick Lamar - this is the biggest one missing, IMO, and there's zero excuse for this not to be on there
Everything from the Beautiful Eyes EP Everything from her Christmas EP The BE EP might have been a Wal-Mart exclusive thing, which could throw a wrench into things. I'm not sure how that works. Miley's Wal-Mart EP is available everywhere now, though. The Christmas EP is also puzzling.

'She should keep in mind, There is nothing I do better than revenge.' 'Now go stand in a corner....' Taylor always told her fans to listen to her songs if they wanted the Real Taylor. About time people start realizing that Taylor means what she says. Exactly. I appreciate TS because she doesn't pretend her songs aren't about real people/situations and, oh, yeah she's clear: "...but I always get the last word" Plus, TS doesn't hesitate to slam herself: "Find out what you want/Be that girl for a month..." and "We show off our different scarlet letters/ Trust me, mine is better..." I stand by that TS gave KP a huge social media/awareness boost on Witness release day. With all the garbage cluttering the media, this kind of fun and harmless controversy was much needed. BTW - a story on Taylor/KP was #5 in most read in Washington Post - yeah, people want a break.

I didn't expect the Bad Blood Remix to be on Spotify I mean she only released her albums and that (and a lot of other songs missing) never were on an album She didn't publish any singles as there is only IDWLF listed

Type Bad Blood Taylor Kendrick and it will appear. Do the same with TWAF, I found it in a playlist. It's part of the soundtrack of a movie. And about the rest, it depends. In Argentina, for example (where I am from),we have all the deluxe tracks (for every album), but we don't have the voice memos of 1989

Ronan is one of the most stunning and heartbreaking songs I have ever heard. Part of me is glad it isn't on Spotify simply because I would be listening and crying on repeat.

Not anything that came from Taylor's camp You really think Camp Taylor doesn't have anything to do with Taylor Swift headlines? ;) Former MTV Chief did an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, and one question out of the 15 he was asked had to do with the incident. Of course other media outlets are going to use Taylor/Beyoncé's names to get clicks, people don't really care about a former MTV Chief. Y'all don't get to blame her for everything.

After Ryan Murphy finishes up with Charles and Diana, he needs to move on to Taylor and Katy. Finally, someone said it! Being a Taylor AND a Katy stan that would be the best thing ever, this show is just out of this world and Katy vs Taylor is the biggest celeb feud right now.
