If you're wondering, I was told in my introduction that I could use this forum to post this countdown. I've been listening to Hits 1 for years now and I actually have a blog for this countdown (there are a few others that have blogs too, a couple of them are on Pulse) so I thought I would post it here too as a thread. This countdown is based on the public's votes, if you are wondering. I will use the same code as I do for my personal chart: Bold = New PeakItalicized = Biggest Drop or JumpUnderlined = Oldest Song on Top 45Blue = Current #1 SongGreen = Former #1 SongPink = Debut/Re-EntryI will also add: Purple = Personal FavoriteRed = Personal Least Favorite Ed Sheeran (9) - April 8, 2017

That seems oddly specific that they do a Top 45. Top 40 is the standard and Top 50 I would get, but Top 45?

New Entrants At #40, MAX and Gnash debut after a very long Hitbound tenure with Lights Down Low. Honestly, I think it's Hitbound tenure is the main reason why it's not in green and I definitely didn't expect this song to debut at this point. But here it is. This definitely isn't as good as Gibberish as the fun and upbeatness (made up that word) beats the emotion in this song. This is an acoustic and slow song, but very meaningful. I actually do like the guitar at the very beginning. The vocals from MAX are very powerful and strong as I really enjoy them. Gnash's verse also fits in very well and makes the song more interesting. So what keeps this song from green? That happens to be the chorus. It feels like it just drags on the same beat over and over there and sometimes it feels a littl e forced. I also find it more bland than the verses. But overall, this song is decent and I wouldn't mind some success.
At #37, Snakehips and MØ debut with Don't Leave. This song has also had a very long Hitbound tenure which caused it to fade on me a little bit. But it's still really good. You either like or don't like MØ's vocals in this song. I like them in a guilty pleasure way which I'll explain. The verses are decent as they create a dark and intense feeling for the song, but they aren't too interesting. The chorus is… Interesting. That can probably be looked at as a good thing or a bad thing. MØ sings her heart out which could definitely be scary for some people as we definitely here her screeching. But then Snakehips do a great job creating the production and take a very unique approach at it and it just blends perfectly with MØ's voice. It's something I can't explain but it's almost like pasta and sauce. The pasta is good alone and the sauce is bad alone, but together they're amazing and the sauce turns good when they're mixed. So I'm enjoying it and I wish it the best of luck.
This next song I didn't think I would have to deal with on the countdown ever, but you was right, Hits 1 and I was wrong. I know a lot of people like this song, but I don't know what there is to like about it. The Vamps do not at all sound interesting in the verses. Like it's close to the lack of effort 21 Savage shows even if the vocals aren't nearly as bad or even that bad during them. Now in the chorus when they actually act like they care, their vocals suck! And we can thank Matoma for that. He/they make the vocals this crazy high pitch that's so annoying. Then when it's time for the actual drop, it's lame and not at all interesting as it's basically the chorus without any singing. So for now, this song is pretty crappy and I hope that it doesn't do well.
Hitbound Here's the Hitbound list:
Jason Derulo/Nicki Minaj/Ty Dolla $ign - Swalla Harry Styles - Sign Of The Times (DEBUT) One Ok Rock - American Girls The Chainsmokers/Coldplay - Something Just Like This Mansionz/G Eazy - Wicked (DEBUT) Erin Bowman - Good Time, Good Life Halsey - Now Or Never (DEBUT) Kungs/Ephemerals - I Feel So Bad (DEBUT) Aaron Carter - Sooner Or Later (DEBUT) Coin - Talk Too Much Jon Bellion - Overwhelming Lorde - Green Light Ocean Park Standoff - Good News Flo Rida/99 Percent - Cake
I have a lot to say about Sign Of The Times. I'll explain that when it debuts. But for now, it's not working. Although, I can see it growing on me.
Wicked does have a little bit of a flow to it and I like G Eazy's verse, but the rest seems rather bland. It's alright though. And literally the same thing for Now Or Never (even if Colors was much better), but the vocals are what I like here.
Yeah, I Feel So Bad does kind of rip off This Girl, and I find it to be a less interesting version. It is closer to green though. And there isn't anything very interesting about Sooner Or Later, but it isn't necessarily bad either.
Touch unfortunately left which is no surprise. Slide also left which is in fact surprising, but I think it'll debut next week.
Hitbound has way too many mediocre songs and not enough good ones.
Top 5 Hitbound Picks 1. Lorde – Green Light 2. The Chainsmokers/Coldplay – Something Just Like This 3. Ocean Park Standoff – Good News 4. Flo Rida/99 Percent – Cake [?] 5. Kungs/Ephemerals – I Feel So Bad [?]
Turn The Blurbs Down Low As for our exits, Make Me (Cry) has now left the Billboard, AT40, and here so rip you flop and you will definitely not be missed by me. I don't think anyone really cares about Let Me Love You anymore. And I don't think anyone ever cared about Words, so I'm happy about all 3.
Oh my lord, I did not realize that Death Of A Bachelor was still even up that high before this week. As I do want this to leave now, I'm still really impressed how long it's been here as it's the sixth oldest song on the countdown now. And it didn't even reach the top 5 similar to another certain song we all know by now… But I doubt this'll rebound like Unsteady did.
I guess that Hits 1 will not give the new Rihanna any success here as Love On The Brain is having a rather similar tenure to Work (even if the latter peaked higher). I'm starting to wonder how they get away sigh saying that their countdown counts down the top 45 songs in America.
Everyday dropping on its second week is no surprise. I was kind of shocked to see that this song debuted at #28 because I feel like top 30 debuts here usually don't end up flopping. But with this rapidly dropping everywhere, I think that Hits 1 may have to just let it go soon.
I see that Miss You and Weak are both rebounding. I wouldn't mind the latter doing so (even though I doubt it will), but I'd rather not see the former. I don't really have anything to say about either of them, but I just felt like it was something worth mentioning.
As our top 2 definitely match up with most charts (and I hope #2 takes over at #1 very soon), #3 is just kind of crazy. This song has left every chart now for the very little time it was on each (not including the Billboard or alternative charts). I'm not complaining as I really still enjoy this song, but it's just a little random.
Chained To The Rhythm is clearly dropping very fast considering that it peaked at #6 and has spent 8 weeks here. This does seem very similar to what Fresh Eyes did. The former is much better though, but I do think that it unfortunately may be done. Too bad because I was hoping for much more out of it.
As for our top 20 entrants, we have 3 this week. I don't care for Believer, but I'm still curious to see how it'll do here and in other places in general. Rockabye is jumping fast which isn't surprising considering Hits 1 was late with it. And I guess Issues will just leave and enter every week.
As for our top 20 exits, all 3 were in the top 10 last week which is interesting. I Don't Wanna Live Forever was destined to eventually drop. Same with Bad Things pretty much. And too bad for Heavy as it's probably done. I see that it likes to take big drops and jumps.
As for our top 10 entrants, we have 5. I talked about Rockabye. It Ain't Me entering is good as it's rising everywhere. Unfortunately Cold is as well rising everywhere. Say You Won't Let Go got a little better throughout the week. And Stay is probably gonna be in red soon.
As for our top 10 exits, there's just 2 that didn't leave the top 20. Is this the end for Castle On The Hill? I hope not, but we shall see. And thank god for Starving dropping out.
Stats #1 Recommendation For Hits 1: The Chainsmokers/Florida Georgia Line – Last Day Alive
Most Missed Song: Ariana Grande – One Last Time
Throwback Pick: Santanta/Rob Thomas – Smooth (2000)
Most Missed Hitbound Dropout: Brantley Gilbert – Bottoms Up
Top 5 Picks 1. Linkin Park/Kiiara – Heavy 2. The Weeknd/Daft Punk – I Feel It Coming 3. Katy Perry/Skip Marley – Chained To The Rhythm 4. Lady Gaga – Million Reasons 5. Bruno Mars – That's What I Like
Bottom 5 Picks 1. Twenty One Pilots – Heathens 2. Ariana Grande/Nicki Minaj – Side To Side 4. Alessia Cara – Scars To Your Beautiful 4. Hailee Steinfeld/Grey/Zedd – Starving 5. Bruno Mars – 24k Magic

Songs expected to debut Hitbound (bubbling under) this week (from the station's weekly poll) are Kissing Strangers (DNCE), Break My Heart (Hey Violet), and Still Got Time (Zayn).
Yeah, I don't think Still Got Time is going to do anything because this station hates rap and this type of R&B. But they do love One Direction, so it might not do too bad.

This is 3/19/16 all over again lmao So true. On 3/19/16 the top 3 was entirely composed of songs from outside the top 5 the week before, and last week's #1 and #2 both dropped more than 20 spots.

I love Hits 1! I love how they kinda just do whatever they want...like when they play songs FM ignores or continues to play songs FM doesn't play too much anymore. Following! :)

- "Mercy" and "Stay" switch spots. They are now #3 and #4 respectively.
- "Say You Won't Let Go" jumps 1 to #5.
- "Castle on the Hill", "It Ain't Me", and "Believer" stay in the top 10 as our new oldest song on the countdown, "Closer", jumps to #10.

#1 Song This Week One Year Ago: Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling (7th Of 10 Weeks At #1)
Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Selena Gomez - Bad Liar (-18)
Biggest Jump Of The Week: Linkin Park - One More Light (+21)
New Entrants: - We have only one new entrant this week, and it comes from returning artist Julia Michaels with her second single titled Uh Huh. Earlier this summer, we had Body Like A Back Road debut on the countdown. My opinions have not changed since; I still think it's the worst song of the year by a landslide. Our new entrant, Uh Huh, is the second worst song of the year in my opinion. I don't get what people like about it because when I first listened to it, I was not impressed at all. The lyrics to this song are absolutely horrific in her new single. Julia's vocals are just as appalling. If I were a professional music critic, and I find that this is one of the best songs of the year, I will be extremely ticked off. Now, I'll probably still like Issues to some degree even though I've been growing out of her predecessor for some time now, and unlike some of you, I'm not as infuriated when it comes on the radio. But when it comes to her new single, I just cannot like Uh Huh like I did with Issues. When it comes to this song in general, I have a feeling it's going to be the Me Too of 2017. Unlike Me Too, which was a big guilty pleasure of mine from last year, this song isn't, and there's nothing I like about it that makes me want to dance to it or even have it on repeat. Overall, this is easily a candidate for my Top 5 worst songs of the year and I hope it does not become a massive hit, because my reaction will not be pretty if it does.
Oh, No, No, I Just Keep On Blurbing Back To You - I'm not thrilled that this is the song that replaces Fitz & The Tantrums - HandClap. While I don't quite like it as much as I used to, I still think it's pretty solid. Good-Bye, HandClap. You will not be forgotten.
- Before introducing Stay Together, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Noah went jet skiing with Austin Mahone. Rumors are going around that they're possibly dating.
- Before introducing Sign Of The Times, Spyder Harrison mentioned that during an interview with The Morning Mash-Up, Harry Styles said that his current favorite song was Bad Liar. Apparently, he doesn't seem to pay attention to the other critics' take on that song. But if he loves it, that's just his opinion.
- On that note, I'm thrilled to see Bad Liar having the Biggest DRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week this week. I honestly couldn't take anymore of that song. Hopefully, it won't be much longer with us.
- I can't believe Play That Song is still here. C'mon, people. Can we please get this awful song off the countdown already?!
- Before introducing I'm The One, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Justin Bieber explained why he decided to cancel the rest of his tour in a letter he sent to his fans. Justin Bieber himself mentioned that he wanted his career to be sustainable. He posted the rest of his letter on his Twitter page. Now with that said, I'm shocked that I'm The One took a big jump despite the lack of airplay this week. Apparently, it doesn't look like it wants to give up just yet, heh.
- Before introducing It Ain't Me, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Justin Bieber is currently dating someone that resembles Selena Gomez. Apparently, it seems he has a specific type of girls he's looking for.
- Of course, One More Light would have the Biggest Jump Of The Week this week. Whether this becomes a hit or not, we'll have to see.
- Hailee Steinfeld is supposedly starring in a Transformers spin-off titled Bumblebee, which will feature pro wrestler John Cena. No word on what role they'll play at this moment, but I'm interested to see what happens in the movie, which comes out next year.
- Before introducing Attention, Spyder Harrison mentioned that Charlie Puth is rumored to be joining Katy Perry on the upcoming American Idol reboot. That could be a perfect gig for him. After all, he's a rising star much like some of the artists currently on the countdown.
- And that brings us to our #1 song, in which Believer spends it's second week at the top spot. Though I would've preferred for Something Just Like This or There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back, I don't mind Believer taking the #1 spot, as long as it blocks Body Like A Back Road from getting there.
Hit-Bound
Bebe Rexha - The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody) Kesha - Praying Ed Sheeran - Galway Girl Harry Styles - Two Ghosts The Chainsmokers - Honest Imagine Dragons - Thunder The All-American Rejects - Sweat Andy Grammer - Give Love Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey - Glorious Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry Shawn Hook featuring Vanessa Hudgens - Reminding Me Zedd featuring Liam Payne - Get Low Rita Ora - Your Song (DEBUT) The Revivalists - Wish I Knew You (DEBUT)
- Our first of two new entrants on Hit-Bound comes from Rita Ora with her new single Your Song. I briefly reviewed this song on YouTube 15 back in June. But to sum it up, I can't really say I'm enjoying this song just yet, but there are some things I like about it. I can see this song growing on me in the near future.
- Second, we have The Revivalists with the song Wish I Knew You. I'm quite surprised this made it on Hit-Bound considering it's from 2016. There's not much I can say about this song other than I find this decent. We'll see if it grows on me.
- On a sad note, we say good-bye to Paramore - Hard Times. It would've been really nice if that song made it to the countdown, but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be a hit. Oh well. Maybe another day.
My Top 5 Hit-Bound Picks 1. Kesha - Praying 2. Ed Sheeran - Galway Girl 3. Shawn Hook featuring Vanessa Hudgens - Reminding Me 4. Demi Lovato - Sorry Not Sorry 5. Macklemore featuring Skylar Grey - Glorious

Songs That Debuted This Week One Year Ago: AJR - I'm Not Famous: One of the blogging community's most hated songs, and I can somewhat see why. I'm not really a fan of the vocals, but the lyrics kinda made sense. It's basically not wanting to be famous and the fact that they don't have any haters.
Ariana Grande - Into You: Easily the best single off of Dangerous Woman album, and for a very good reason. Ariana's vocals and the lyrics to this song are excellent. Combine that with great EDM production and you can see why this was a fan favorite. I love that it has references to Mariah Carey's 2008 single Touch My Body.

I feel you legit copy and pasted 95% of this from your blog, Montavis. Yes, I did. It's better than having to type the whole thing. Unfortunately, I won't have a color code because there's too many colors to choose from (unless someone finds a way). It's different than blogger where you have just 6 or 7 colors to use.
