I cannot believe I've spent 27 of my 32 years doing the "If" routine. That ish is complex, but fun.
As far as other routines, I've got most of "Rhythm Nation" and "I Get Lonely" down.
"Doesn't Really Matter" and "All For You" are not easy!

Since weβve been getting these bonus tracks finally released to streaming from Britney and Christina, which Janet bonus track would you like made available to stream? I wouldnβt mind the βLove Meβ Just Blaze version of βJust A Little Whileβ for the summer. Let's talk about the travesty of "Twenty Foreplay" not being available. Start Anew And On And On --> Truly she should just put up janet. Remixed the way Control: The Remixes was made available One More Chance Accept Me The Beat of Black Wings Who Love Me Put Your Hands On Ruff Clap Your Hands Days Go By Let Me Know Heartbeat Love

^^^ Lol, I have no words for how he feels. I actually did enjoyed 20 Y.O. I really don't think he should be to blame for her decline. The main problem was the Superbowl fiasco and radio stations blacklisting her.
It really saddens me that radio stations are not playing her old stuff regularly like they do with MJ, Mariah, and Madonna.

First of all....whoβs still trying to work with JD. Second, why is this a thing? The only thing I can be mad about is having Janet work with that gutter rat AND having her in the video. He should apologize for that.

20 YO did 296k in the US and 353k worldwide in opening week - so not sure where he's pulling 400k from. Call On Me was a #1 on the R&B chart.

Yeah, I love 20 Y.O. also. So Excited, Do It 2 Me, With U, Call On Me, Enjoy, Take Care and Roll Witchu are songs I do not get tired of.
I know fans still wanted MORE from the era...it should have been longer (at least 3-4 more songs) with more effort/heart from Janet (many people thought she was phoning it in by just wanting to have fun), more singles released and a mini tour would have been reasonable (the fans always want a global tour, book those stages).
Unfortunately, the time she was with Jermaine was also the toughest part of her career (still affected by 2004, contract with Virgin ending), but if 20 Y.O. went #1 and the singles were bigger hits and Virgin wasn't merging, lots of these complaints wouldn't be happening.
In 2006, there's no reason other than politics that "Call On Me" and "So Excited" weren't top 10 hits worldwide. Both are BOPS and BUMP! "Enjoy" and "With U" were robbed of a video and tour performances. "Roll Witchu" is the most unfairly treated Janet song.
On a different note, lots of fans also think he's unattractive or can't stand his persona.

I remember also getting Jet's second album and...one of the best albums of all time, Sam's Town by The Killers. I'll never forget coming home and being disappointed with the 20 YO cover that I got.

To this thread I came, thinking Janet had an announcement about Black Diamond, only to find a 20 Y.O. love-fest

20 YO is a solid album but still nothing that makes me want to hear Janet and JD in the studio again.
Where the fuck is Black Diamond?!

All For You does have some highlights (China Love is my favorite track from that album). I don't get the love for Truth. Come On Get Up and You Ain't Right are songs I can only enjoy live. Don't care for the interludes. SOAG could have been a single after Trust A Try and Come On Get Up. I'll take Damita Jo (MOIST IS MY S*IT) and 20 Y.O. over that album.

Much as I dump on 20 Y.O., it's still a good album, it's just not up to the high standards I expect from Janet.
IMHO, her only true dud is her debut self-titled and even that is pleasant.
For me, it's that the highs (Enjoy, Take Care, So Excited, This Body) of 20YO don't make up for the very low lows (Call On Me, Show Me, Get It Out Me, the vocals on the first half that sound like she has a cold, the nostalgia conceit that doesn't quite work) Admittedly, the parts I like best are from Daybreak onward, which are the songs WITHOUT JD and to only have 11 songs and most of them just ok or good does not a good album make.
I would rather the album be (re-sequencing prb needed):
So Excited Clap Your Hands This Body With U Days Go By Roll Witchu Daybreak Enjoy Take Care Love 2 Love
Japan Bonus Track: Do It To Me

For real, itβs actually my favorite album of the ones that came out after All For You π I like it better than All For You as well, which is an unpopular opinion. The singles made that album.I feel that describes Damita Jo more. I actually love the "All For You" album. That was her LAST great era before the Superbowl happened. She had the tour and Mtv's Icon. I was in 8th grade at that time and that was the second album I got after "The Velvet Rope". I love that it had more angsty tracks like "Son of A Gun" and "Trust a Try", and it had great bops like "Come and Get Up" and "You Ain't Right". I also love "Truth", "China Love", "When We Ooo", and "Better Days". "Would You Mind" and "Oooh Baby" are the only tracks from the album I skip, but I love the rest.
As a whole, I definitely prefer "All For You" and "20 Y.O." over the boring crapfest "Damita Jo". I didn't like how Damita Jo had more fillers and lackluster sex tracks. "Put Your Hands On" should have been exchanged with the weaker tracks like "My Baby", "Moist", "Warmth", "Thinkin Bout My Ex", and "Like You Don't Love Me".

I actually enjoyed 20 YO minus the vocals. She sounded so congested or out of breath. Maybe it was the weight gain, but it wasn't pleasant. Overall it was a cohesive album i still listen to it often, it's just not her BEST. It was HILARIOUS how they really thought So Excited was going to be some kind of smash though. Songs like Do it to me, with u, Enjoy, take care, Roll witchu were really the songs they should've paid attention to and released. She could've had a stronger Urban/Urban AC showing. The singles shoudl've been:
1. Do it to me 2. Call On Me 3. Enjoy 4. Roll witchu
I think Discipline was HOT garbage and that is the album he should be slapped for being apart of. His songs in particular were trash on that album. Thank God Darkchild slayed Feedback.

I actually like most of Discipline. I skip over the middle section with "Never Letchu Go" and "Greatest X" and also the unfortunately subpar Stargate production of "2nite"

Discipline was a good album. My faves other than "Feedback" were "Rollercoaster", "So Much Betta", "Rock Witchu", "What's Ur Number?", "LUV", and "Cant B Good".
I never cared for "Greatest X" either. Just not a fan of songs being named after your exes. That's pretty corny to me.
