"Despacito" being the first Top 10 Spanish-language song since "Macarena" brings up an interesting fact in mind, that fact being how both of these songs got popular in the US off of a remix that added some English verses to the song.
It also brings up another question I wanna ask: how many Spanish-language songs have hit the Top 10 in the Hot 100's history?

I wish Chantaje got the attention Despacito is getting but I like the track and good to see some Latin acts get recognition.

Well since the numbers for humble won't be so insane next week, it'll be Ed V Bruno for the next few weeks.

I'm starting to get sick of Shape of You, so it's very nice to see HUMBLE at #1. And I'm excited to see Stay in the top 10.

Well since the numbers for humble won't be so insane next week, it'll be Ed V Bruno for the next few weeks. Humble will definitely still fight in the coming weeks. It's still going to be #1 in streaming even if it falls. Its sales aren't crashing or anything, they're just as steady as Ed and Bruno's. Its airplay is also increasing quickly. It's actually just outside the top 50 on pop even. This week is definitely its peak in points, but it's not just gonna tumble away either. It's definitely going to continue to be a contender over the next few weeks.

Kendrick Lamar Charts All 14 Tracks From 'DAMN.' on Billboard Hot 100
By Amaya Mendizabal, MIami | April 24, 2017 6:00 PM EDT
Kendrick Lamar inhabits 14 positions on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated May 6), all from his new Billboard 200 chart-topping album DAMN.
As previously reported, the set's "Humble." hops 3-1 on the Hot 100 in its third frame, earning Lamar his second No. 1, and first as a lead act (following a one-week stint at the top of the chart in June 2015 as featured on Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood"). Meanwhile, the other 13 tracks from the new album also all enter the list.
In all, the 14 songs from DAMN. on the latest Hot 100 (which blends streaming, airplay and sales data) garnered 388.5 million U.S. streams in the tracking week ending April 20, according to Nielsen Music. "Humble" collected the most: 67.4 million (up 56 percent). The increase sparks the single biggest streaming week for a song since Baauer's "Harlem Shake" peaked with 103 million on the March 2, 2013-dated chart, greatly assisted by user-generated video uploads of the viral hit.
"DNA." leads Lamar's Hot 100 debuts, at No. 4, earning him his fifth top 10 (and second as a lead act). Aided by its video, released April 18 and co-starring Don Cheadle, the track totaled 51 million domestic weekly streams in the tracking week.
Of the songs from DAMN. with no official music videos, "Loyalty," featuring Rihanna, was the most-streamed during the week, amassing 32.2 million U.S. clicks. Here are Kendrick Lamar's 14 titles on the Billboard Hot 100 dated May 6:
Position, title, weekly U.S. streams No. 1 (up from No. 3) "Humble." (67.4 million) No. 4 (debut), "DNA." (51 million) No. 14 (debut), "Loyalty.," featuring Rihanna (32.2 million) No. 16 (debut), "Element." (31.3 million) No. 18 (debut), "Love.," featuring Zacari (29.3 million) No. 32 (debut), "Yah." (24.5 million) No. 33 (debut), "XXX." (23.3 million) No. 35 (debut), "Feel." (22.5 million) No. 37 (debut)," Pride." (21.8 million) No. 42 (debut), "Lust." (20.2 million) No. 50 (debut), "Fear." (17.6 million) No. 54 (debut), "Blood." (17.3 million) No. 58 (debut), "God." (16 million) No. 63 (debut), "Duckworth." (14.1 million)
Also impressively, Lamar becomes only the fifth act to chart as many as 14 concurrent titles on the Hot 100. The Beatles first did so in 1964, posting 14 songs at one time in the midst of early Beatlemania. It was 51 years before another artist achieved the feat (which has become somewhat more common as streaming increases, benefiting albums by certain star acts). Along with The Beatles, Lamar joins Drake (a record 24 simultaneously-charted songs), The Weeknd (18) and Justin Bieber (14); all four latter acts ran up their high totals accompanying hit

As this gets 9 songs in the top 40 in a week, another statistic that used to be common to compare albums becomes meaningless in the streaming era:
Most top 40 hits from one album
The record for one release until the streaming craze was 7. (Multi releases of one album - there are more)
This sort of kills it as a comparable statistic. As most of these 9 will be gone next week.

La Bamba and Macarena are the only Spanish #1's Wasn't the version of "Macarena" that got most of the airplay primarily in English?

This fact by itself shows how dominant The Beatles were at the time. Probably the second most impressive single accomplishment by them behind holding all the Top 5 songs.

Damn, Rihanna came close to snatching her 31st Top 10 Hit. Tbh 14 isn't all that close, it's pretty easy to wind up peaking at 14-11 and never really have any chance of the top 10

Honestly I'm not too pleased at Humble being #1 at all. I mean I try to be culturally inclusive and all, but it definitely doesn't make me all warm and joyful to hear another rap song top the charts where they just call women bitches the whole time. And to think that this type of stuff receives stratospheric praise and rave reviews from the critics says a lot about our culture. I'm willing to forgive these things a little and not be too serious about it if sonically, the song is good, but that is not the case hear. TO ME, it also just sounds like crap.

You obviously aren't paying attention to the lyrics at all. Humble doesn't call women bitches. "Bitch sit down, be humble" is referring to arrogant rappers, not women. In fact, half of the second verse calls out mainstream media for portraying black people and women poorly.

I never said they were deep, and why would they need to be. Shape of You is as shallow of a meaning as can be. What the hell is "bitch of the religion"? What religion? Why are you bringing politics into this? This post is the epitome of making zero sense and adding literally nothing to the conversation.
