I remember making a Top 20 Ranking for the fall of 2020. One of the songs I covered was Before You Go by Lewis Capaldi. While talking about it, I compared it to this song, which I went back to listen to. When I was listening to this song, I didn't make it past the first chorus without tearing up. Sure, some of the lyrics are a bit clumsy (he rhymes "right" and "best" with themselves, for example), and Issac Slade isn't the best singer, but those flaws honestly make it a bit more genuine. Great song.
