Not a fan of this song, and I loved Chantaje. The video is good though.

Get that promo! I'm still not too fond of this album but I'm surprised at how well its singles, as half-assed as they were, have held up since its release. "Trap" is garbage though; thankfully they had the foresight to film the video while Maluma was at peak hotness.

If she does tour, it will likely be mostly acoustic:

I'm surprised that her tour is selling this well. I expected Latin America to do well, but not Europe. She hasn't been around for a very long time, but people seem to still want to go see her. Her show in Mexico is going to be at a 100,000 stadium. It's 96% soldout. She plans to do 3 shows there, so that's 300,000 tickets just from that stadium. I'm thinking at this point the tour has to happen. If she cancels the tour now that its this big and selling this well, it would likely be the end of her. US -Chicago - 90% -Detroit - 66% -Toronto - 86% -Montreal - 98% -New York - 92% -Washington - 87% -Orlando - 75% -Sunrise - 72% -Miami1 - 88% -Miami2 - 73% -Dallas - 88% -Houston - 91% -San Antonio - 97% -Phoenix - 98% -Los Angeles1 - 91% -Los Angeles2 - 41% -Anaheim - 98% -Las Vegas - 97% -San Diego - 100% (SOLD OUT) -San Francisco - 100% (SOLD OUT) Estadio Asteza has had a lot of historic events: On 12 March 1983, Menudo was the first band to sell out a solo concert at the stadium with an attendance of over 100,000 people. On 29, 31 October and 07, 09 and 11 November 1993, Michael Jackson finished the Dangerous World Tour with five sold out shows at this stadium, for a total of 500,000 people (circa 100,000 per show, more than any other artist or band, Mexican or International). On 16 June 2000, Los Temerarios performed at the Estadio Azteca for the first time in their career, in a sold out concert with the max of capacity, was over 87,000 people that attended. This concert was filmed in live. On 14 May 2011, Irish rock band U2 presented the 360° Tour scoring the most-attended concert on the tour with a total attendance of 110,000 people. On 8 May 2012, Paul McCartney performed at the Estadio Azteca for the first time in his career, in a non-sold-out concert for 53,000 people. On 16 April 2016, Vicente Fernández played his farewell concert, titled "UN AZTECA EN EL AZTECA, ADIÓS A UN GRANDE", to a sell out crowd at the stadium with an attendance of over 100,000 people. On 11 October 2018, Shakira will perform in the stadium with her El Dorado World Tour.

The first show at the 100,000 seat stadium is officially sold out. I knew the demand for her in Latin America would be high, but selling out that stadium seemed unrealistic to me at this point in her career due to that long break she took.
In the past when she's gone to Mexico City she's gone to Foro Sol, that's where most pop stars go including Madonna, Britney, etc. For the Sale El Sol tour she did two nights at the 50,000 Foro Sol stadium. For Oral Fixation she did 1 show at Foro Sol and 8 soldout shows at an 18,000 arena. Mexico city has always been a hot spot for Shakira, but the only international artists to sell out the 100,000 stadium for multiple nights has been Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan & u2.

I think that if she was gonna cancel the tour she would have done that already so it's probably happening.

She has to. She's delayed it about as much as possible. If she were to cancel at this point she'd likely be met by a nasty lawsuit. She's doing it.
The only negative aspect about all the sellouts is that now she's going to be even more lazy. She did zero promo for over 5 years and the tour is selling even better than when she had a big hit out. She's now never going to do promo. We'll likely get music, zero promo, and a tour every 5-10 years. I guess I shouldn't complain. We all know she just wants to be with her family. At least we get something.

I mean could she even do an arena show in Europe outside of Spain? I knew she still could, but I'm a bit surprised that it's selling great everywhere. Amsterdam and Munich soldout really quick. She's doing double dates in several cities and in Latin America she's doing bigger stadiums than usual. The biggest surprise is 3 nights at the 100,000 seat Azteca stadium in Mexico City. The first show soldout in 2 days. The plan is to add a 3rd show if the 2nd show sells out quick. Here are all the dates: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_Dorado_World_TourShe can and she has done it before. Yeah, she did in 2011 coming off the heels of a massive hit with Waka Waka. She doesn't even have an English single out and even thought Chantaje did see some success in Europe it is nowhere near the level of being able support a tour 6 months to a year from now This tour showed that at this point in her career she doesn't need a hit to sellout a tour. Lets be realistic, its not getting rescheduled. There is no logistical way to reschedule all of those dates in the venues they were scheduled for. It happened. Hopefully the tour starts on June 3.

Well the tour started in Hamburg.
If you've seen her in concert before...this show is exactly the same. Most of the songs haven't had new arrangements at all. Definitely not worth the wait, IMO.

She's doing the exact same set lists, including the exact same coreo and arrangements, since 2006. She's lip syncing half of the new songs. What a waste.

She's doing the exact same set lists, including the exact same coreo and arrangements, since 2006. She's lip syncing half of the new songs. What a waste. It took a herculean effort to get her to even go on tour, so fans don't complain as much anymore. She's not known for lipsynching. I haven't watched the youtube videos closely enough to notice, but usually she doesn't. What she has done in the past is the she'll sing about 98% of the song live, then lip a few words. Fans are not sure why, some speculate she does this to catch her breath. She's not lipping difficult high notes, so its not that. As for the choreography, Shakira is pretty much like Cher, Janet & MJ. Its hard to get them to change things. Fans complain then show up, so I don't see Shakira changing. People close to her say she hates to rehearse. That's also a reason why her shows don't change that much. Shakira pretty much only debuts new choreography when she has a new hit single....and that's it. Nostalgia makes her shows fun. But, I do wish she'd change her shows more.

A few people on social media have been commenting that it's basically the same show she has done in the past which is not necessarily bad, but if you went to one of her previous tours, you can skip this one.
I was rewatching some performances from the Mongoose tour the other day and she was just so creative at the time with the whole thing...
New single on Friday btw! Another one with Maluma... loved Chantaje and disliked Trap so it coukd go either way...

He wanted her to be as big as Madonna is worldwide. After he left we pretty much got the Shakira we know now. After the tour was over he wanted her to immediately release a new album. We know how Shakira is lol. That lead to her firing DeMann.

Literally everything on this tour is recycled. The arrangements, the choreography, this is by far her most reductive tour yet.

😬 i impulsively bought a floor ticket for a show that was going to be in Jan., and was rescheduled for August. I’ve never seen her before,so I guess the recylcing doesn’t matter to me, but I also listed the ticket for resale and would be ok to make some $ on it

She Wolf is practically identical to her 2011 performance
And how instead of leopard print pants she has a pink leopard print dress, so I guess that's different.

Even fans that have seen her several times are saying they enjoyed the show. The problem fans have with Shakira is that she does recycle her choreo a lot. Michael Jackson was the same way, it was hard to get him to change his show. Fans complain, but once they are there they do enjoy the show. To be honest, it comes down to the fact that Shakira hates to rehearse.

She needs to bring dancers on stage with her. Not liking what I’m seeing/hearing in the videos posted above. I was really looking forward to seeing her live but now I think I might not even go.

I was really looking forward to seeing her live but now I think I might not even go. *Sigh* Her fans agree, they vent to her, to her management... then Shakira does what she wants. She likes being alone on stage doing the choreo she's familiar with. If you go to her forums you'll see fans saying the same things. They vent, then give up when they realize Shakira will do what she wants in the end. It's really down to Shakira. Live Nation is willing to give her whatever she wants for the tour.

The difference was MJ's choreo was iconic. She's doing the robot.

The difference was MJ's choreo was iconic. She's doing the robot. If you ask her, she'll say some of her choreo is iconic: Ojos Asi, HDL. La Tortura, whenever wherever etc. They have choreo that's unique to the song. That being said, I do wish she'd spice things up. I didn't mean she was as good as MJ, only that they are both known for recycling choreo. When this question has come up she says that she likes to be alone on stage because that's her style. All the other pop stars are using lots of backup dancers and props. She feels she doesn't need that. To her, in her mind, she likes being a mix of Bono and Madonna, focusing more on the former. She likes the idea of being out there with just her band, like the rock stars do. But, personally, I do feel she should embrace her pop side more. She does like confetti, lights and lasers, as you can see. All that being said, she's managed to sellout a tour all over Europe, The US and stadiums in Latin America, including two nights at a 90,000 seat stadium. She did that without having a hit out. So, she must be doing something right. The show works for her, but I do feel she'd grow more and become an even bigger draw if she changed things up more for each tour. Anyways, fans gave up asking since they know Shakira won't do that.
