EXCLUSIVE: Alicia Keys Reveals Why She's Stepping Away From 'The Voice'
I've kind of lost interest in her, but it's not like I'm not gonna check this out... whenever it comes out. I thought "In Common" was glorious, but HERE, on the whole, forgettable. I don't revisit it that much.

This was expected and been rumor for a minute now. I'm excited.
HERE was and still is great body of work. It deserved better, but that's the state of R&B right now.
Anyway, now that she is off her HERE trip, I hope we get friendly radio tracks. I would love more of "In Common" sound.
Mike.Will.Made.It is desperate to work with her so I hope that happens. Maybe he could cook her up a "Pour It Up" with an Alicia spin to it.

I liked her last album significantly more than I thought I would going in, buy I do not want anything like it from the next one.
It actually made me even more here for decidedly more contemporary and mainstream sounding music from her. Not trend chasing for the sake of it, but just because she's mined the past for so long now that there's not enough left there for a fresh effort. She could certainly sing over heavy basslines. Or more stuff that is layered and textured like The Weeknd's records would be a great fit for her as IC showed. MWMI would absolutely be welcome as far as I'm concerned.

HERE was definitely a good album, but it doesn't have a lot of replay value. There are a few highlights from it like Illusion of Bliss, Pawn It All and Work On It but I think the album was a little on the boring side overall. I really hope she goes more in the direction of In Common- which was amazing. I thought that was a perfect mix of what she needed to do: social commentary but mixed with a hot beat. But I also have filled up on my need of social commentary from her, I need some more love/relationship type ish from her.

Listening to No One. Just fucking amazing. From the emotional vocal, lyrics, and production (that accoustic guitar outro production choice still slays me). One of the best songs ever made. Can't wait for new music. World needs more Alicia Keys

She's been on a consistent downward trajectory for the past decade in my opinion. I only kept like 2 songs from the last project in my library. The good news is my expectations are low.

Still here for Here. It was such a well-composed, articulated body of work and it felt like pure Alicia. I also want Mike Will on the new album and she should invite Jamie xx back to the table too. They made magic together.

She's been gradually losing me probably since "No One" as a matter of fact. I loved A Minor and Diary but the majority of the things she released after these two masterpieces are either uninspired or trying too hard. I would love to see a glorious return of that youth Alicia back with her landmark ghetto-fearless attitude, though honestly I think she's ran out of almost all her tricks.

Rolling Stone: 'MTV Unplugged': The 15 Best Episodes9. Alicia Keys (2005) There weren't a lot of great Unplugged episodes in the 2000s, with years often passing without a single new episode. But in 2005, Alicia Keys helped bring the series back with a stunning show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. She only had two albums worth of songs at that point, so she brought out Adam Levine to sing the Rolling Stones' "Wild Horses" and Mos Def, Common and Damian Marley for "Welcome to Jamrock." What nobody knew at the time was that Keys came close to bringing in Bruce Springsteen to play his 1973 classic "New York City Serenade" with her. "I was going to cry," she said. "The schedule just conflicted." That's a huge bummer. Had they pulled it off, it would have been one of the great moments in Unplugged history.

I'm still so happy she's spearheading the no make-up movement. She's so gorgeous w/o anything on her face <3 <3

New song with Eminem. Kinda underwhelming, IMO. Her vocals sound altered.

If she changes labels, her album will get delayed

She’s definitely a "prestige artist" at this point but any other label is better than RCA.

If she changes labels, her album will get delayed If she was feeling supported and confident in RCA during the creative process, she wouldn’t be looking elsewhere. I want the best album possible from her. The Element Of Freedom was the last thing I felt was handled properly by RCA, and even that was messy compared to her past releases.

This has apparently been out since February, which is also when Variety reported on Alicia shopping around for a new deal. I'm going to guess this is a throwaway album intended to 'officially' complete her contract. I listened to the snippets on Amazon and it all sounds like SIAM/DOAK era demos they cobbled together. Even the artwork looks like someone rummaged around in their storage for an unused outtake from an old DOAK shoot.

The artwork is an altered version of the Unthinkable (I'm Ready) single cover.

"Zebras and Airplanes" Silly title but I was obsessed with that one back in 2013 (I think). "Insane" (previously titled "Is It Insane?") is the real gem on this "album". My favorite non-album track by her.
