So my numbers 27, 30 and 31 already out. No major surprises, as I thought I could be ranking those songs better than average. I still believe that Endless Love is a fine cover. I love the original but despise the melisma inundated cover by Mariah and Luther. This version with Shania was surprisingly smooth, tender, emotional. I don't think it should've been bottom 10. Fine with White Christmas and Today... they were sort of fluctuating in my 30-37 positions. I still think there are a couple of songs that should've left. Don't remember which ones, just that every time I heard them I was like ew, this is pretty bad, so they were never better than bottom 2

*crickets* No one else with a guess? I Ain't No Quitter would also fit, but I probably would have guessed I'm Holdin' On To Love too if Stacey hadn't said it first

^ @antigonerising wins, lol No, I ain't giving up on him just yet Cause I'm as stubborn as a girl can get No he won't quit, but you can bet I'm sticking to it I, ain't, I ain't no quitterShania may not be a quitter, but y'all aborted this one just outside the bottom 5! With this one falls four Top 20 placements, all of which landed in the 15-17 range. So no truly great losses with this one.

I never liked the vocals from Shania or the vocal arrangement on "I Ain't No Quitter", which is a shame since I do enjoy the instrumentation and production.

Yup! Good! Bye! (100% agree with sabre14, though, I hated the vocal arrangements but liked the production) But still wondering where is my #40 gonna appear! :o >:(

Oh that was my second guess lol
I always wanted to love this one but something in the production always fell flat for me.
Love the video though. :)

The way they did her voice just sounds kinda strange on the track. But I do love the instrumentation and it's catchy melodically. It just could've been better imo.
Annnnd up next we have our first loss from one of Shania's studio albums!

I thought I wouldn't be able to post while I was on my flight (the third one in a 2-day span) but the airline I'm flying with has free in-flight Wi-Fi so I'll abuse the privileges I have and post here.
Not sad about this one either. The vocals were what made me rank the song pretty low but is that the way Shania's voice was during the Greatest Hits era? I also didn't like her vocals on "Don't!" so I'm getting the feeling that it's just how her voice was not her delivery on each song...

This is just not going well for me.
But I still really like "I Ain't No Quitter" if only for that video and the ability to swing the night away with this.

Y'all really didn't lay a whole lotta love on this one as the third and final single release from Shania Twain's flop debut is the first track lifted from one of her studio records to be left in the dust here. We lose a handful of Top 20s with this departure, including a first Top 10 loss for one poster.

I didn't hate them but they didn't impress me much lol (sorry for that, I'm lame) There's some real early 90's style country gems on her debut, I love that album so so much. I'd say checking out the whole thing is worth it considering it's so short.

Kanenrá:ke you were one reveal early on your prediction, but you clearly saw the future because "God Bless the Child" was not long for this rankdown indeed. This one also has the distinction of being the first song to go out without having a #40 placement in the mix. It does take out another poster's first Top 10 though (sorry Devil Marlena Nylund !).

I wanted to like You Lay A Whole Lot of Love On Me more than I did...I can't put my finger on it but even while I found myself thinking it was a nice song, something about it just felt so irksome to me. Must be the lowkey bukkake vibe the title is giving off lol
I Ain't No Quitter is cute, not necessarily sad to see it gone but I (obviously) would rather have seen other songs leave sooner.

Aw, GBTC is so lovely though! And I'm not even Christian I did have a hard time figuring out where to put that song, though, with it not being like her 'normal' songs

oh okay then
brb just gonna go cry in the corner.
really though, i was given Shania's debut cassette tape (aging myself here) for Christmas around the time The Woman In Me was really popular, so her debut singles definitely rank high from a nostalgia factor. I thought they might squeeze into the top 30 at least, tho.

All songs so far (except Endless Love) are songs I've heard for the first time for the rankdown. So I'm surprised I actually liked the bukkake song (lmao) enough to rank it #22. I assumed her lower register and 90s ballad style may not be a favorite, but I actually found it smooth, classy, elegant in an almost Lisa Stansfield way. Sad to see it go. On the contrary, GBTC was an easy bottom 2. Good to see this piece of boredom gone already! Still waiting for my #40... seriously! Lower than YLAWOLOM?! Oh btw Jordanstacey I saw both had same ranking for these last two songs :)
