10. Te Busque (24): Sorry, but I've always felt this was a lesser version of Fotografia. This was my #7 of 9 Nelly songs in Spanish.
9. On The Radio (11): Good one, close to my ranking
8. Powerless (13): I almost put it in my top 10 but I supported songs in Spanish a bit more instead -plus, with time the bridge has sounded a bit messier than back in the day when this song was a personal chart topper
7. Turn Off the Light (14): I've always liked OTR a bit more
6. Try (5): almost perfect ranking! Love this one! Great memories as well... Big hit back home, also due to its becoming her first song in Spanish when she recorded the Spanish version 'Dar'.
5. I'm Like a Bird (7): A great debut! Strong song that has aged pretty well
4. All Good Things (1): YAY!!! I was concerned about it not making top 5 or even top 10. This was a favorite since the first time I heard it. I liked it even more when I heard the version of her and Chris Martin, and then when I heard her singing this in Spanish. Love the bridge, the instrumentation, her voice, the whole nostalgic vibe. (This was also a song related to an important sad but amiable end of a relationship
).
3. Promiscuous (3): P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING! One of the best image changes, comebacks, reinventions ever! My jaw dropped when I saw the video! I had listened to the song in the radio without knowing who it was, and I couldn't believe this sexy goddess was Nelly! Wow!
2. Maneater (4): My top 5 was very close and I went back and forth... Maneater could have been a bit higher but her voice sounding a bit more nasal, and the slightly lifeless yeaahh-ah-ah-AH-ah in the bridge were negative points that didn't overcome the excellent beat and melody.
1. Say It Right (2): Amazing song! Music, production, voice, all works perfectly. The final minute is heaven with her background vocals behind the last verse, the extra guitar sounds here and there. One of the best crafted pop songs of the 2000s for sure!
Thanks for hosting!!!
