Im already accepting that Despacito will be the longest #1 of the year Doubt it. The unfortunate Bieber x EDM act (The Chainsmokers) will be the #1 till January, unless Taylor Swift or Drake will release a new song. And some are even theorizing about a Humble. remix...

It streaming is rocketing. It debuted at #91 on the h100 only a few weeks ago and already got to #55 last week. Although it fell this week it fell with a bullet, meaning the debuts pushed it down but its rising.

radio is still immense and it's not freefalling in that Airplay really isn't immense for it anymore. Sure, it's still #2, but it's not that far ahead of #3-6 anymore and falling at a standard rate. It'll start falling faster soon too, since that's just how airplay works. Not to mention single #3 will come along soon to kill it. Plus, sales and streaming aren't that strong for it anymore, and with both dropping at a normal rate as well, SOY won't last two more months in the top ten. single number 3 is SJLT. Trust me, that song is not going to kill SOY.

Interesting that despite both Despacito and ITO making large radio gains, they will still only stay at their respective positions of #7 and 8 for 3 straight weeks. And they are the only real competitors for the top and are far away from it, so it looks like TWIL will stay there for awhile.

What percentage of total streams does AM make up on average? More than 10%? Idk, I remember for Drake, Apple Music accounts for almost half of his on-demand streams, and since on-demand streams is a little more than half of total streams generally, I'll say 25%-30%. But I'm not entirely sure about other instances

Drake does have deals with Apple Music, though, so his are probably higher for him.
If I had to guess, AM probably accounts for 15-20% of a song's streaming total.

I think it depends on the song. Magnolia is currently top 10 on AM but not on Spotify, Now Or Never just got a boost on AM because Halsey is featured on some main page there, etc

Im already accepting that Despacito will be the longest #1 of the year More than 12 weeks at #1? Hmm, I'm not so sure it can pull that off. Although it looks like it's on pace for at least 7 or 8 weeks unless there's a huge release from someone such as Taylor Swift before then. I guess we will see.

I think the point is nothing that is out now is going to pass it, so 12 weeks is certainly possible. Unless something huge drops in the next few weeks, what is going to stop it from getting past 7-8 weeks?

Why is Magnolia expected to jump so massively? There must be something major I'm missing, because a top ten placement just in Apple Music shouldn't be enough to boost it so highly.
Edit: whoops, nevermind. I thought that list was a Hot 100 prediction and didn't realize it was just the current AM top ten.

The song that will replace Despacito will probably be something that skyrocket the charts Like See You Again, Black Beatles... doesn't need to be by a major artist
