Me after waking up and seeing wrong again is out I love this song very much - music, lyrics and the fact that she says wrong again in the end (the positive message). I was hoping for top 5 but i guess you can't always get what you want. "Wrong Again" is so, so, so good. I was hoping it would win, but I really had no idea how anyone felt about it. I love how the chorus means a different thing every time.

#6 ~ Where Would You Be
Album: Greatest Hits Track #17 Written by: Rick Ferrell, Rachel Proctor
"I wonder where your heart is Cause it sure don't feel like it's here Sometimes I think you wish That I would just disappear Have I got it all wrong Have you felt this way long Are you already gone
Do you feel lonely When you're here by my side Does the sound of freedom Echo in your mind Do you wish you were by yourself Or that I was someone else Anyone else
Where would you be If you weren't here with me Where would you go If you were single and free Who would you love Would it be me Where would you be"

DAMN IT!!!! After coming so close, I was really hoping for a top 5 placement :( Oh well, to be quite honest, I wasn't sure WWYB would even make the top 20, let alone top 10, so this is a nice surprise! There are some VERY vocal haters of that song on Pulse... Fortunately it doesn't seem like any of them participated in this rankdown Seriously though, in my opinion, "Where Would You Be" is a perfect song. It is definitive Martina to me. She really sells her soul with that vocal performance There are live videos of that song that have made my jaw hit the floor. One of my biggest regrets as a Martina fan is that I have never gotten to see her sing that one live. And at this point, I highly doubt she will ever sing it live again, since her higher songs like that will just keep getting harder for her to sing as she gets older :( Also, this gif I posted yesterday is something I snagged from a video of her performing WWYB live. I posted it as celebration of the fact that my #1 was still in, and also kind of a hint to see if anyone could guess what my #1 was (I know, I know. I'm not even hosting, and I STILL can't stop dropping hints!) Anyway, this is the 3rd chorus, right after the big key change when she really starts getting into it. I have always thought she made the coolest gestures while she sings, and this song is one where she really has to use her entire body to convey the emotion of the song... Like I said, she really sells her soul when she sings this!

Sorry buddy. "Where Would You Be" is gorgeous, and even better live. Such a great song in Martina's discography. Had it been released in modern times, it would have been a multi week #1.

"Where Would You Be" is absolutely amazing, and definitely among my favorites from her. Glad it made it to #6! Every time you mentioned that you thought it wouldn't do well I wanted to hint that it did do well but I didn't wanna ruin the suspense for you so I didn't.

#5 ~ My Baby Loves Me
Album: The Way That I Am Track #2 Written by: Gretchen Peters
"Don't need no copy of Vogue magazine Don't need to dress like no beauty queen High heels or sneakers he don't give a damn My baby loves me just the way that I am My baby loves me just the way that I am
He never tells me I'm not good enough Just give me unconditional love He loves me tender and he loves me mad He loves me silly and he loves me sad
He thinks I'm pretty, he thinks I'm smart He likes my nerve and he loves my heart He's always sayin' he's my biggest fan My baby loves me just the way that I am My baby loves me just the way that I am"
Peak: Billboard's Hot Country Songs: 2
Points: 252
This is the 1st single released from Martina's The Way That I Am album This is also Martina’s breakthrough single! According to Martina if this song had been played just a few more times the week it peaked at #2 it would have overtaken Garth Brooks' "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association" for #1 This song is actually a cover of Canadian artist Patricia Conroy, who released her version in 1992 a year before Martina would release it Ranks:dub - 3 BackwoodsBarbie - 3 zaclord 🌈 - 4 fearlessarrow - 5 Cody Wants Out... - 5 @adam1995 - 7 Kanenrá:ke - 11 🅳🅸🆂🅲🅾 - 12 austin - 22 cerulean - 25 castleoblivion26 - 26 .indulgecountry - 26 aerodynamite - 30 bboat11 - 35 someguy - 38 Following along:Leo ✔ Troublemaker Juanca kansasmeetsmo

I remember loving all of the the new singles from the Greatest Hits album, yet I had little memory of this song. I think after YouTube became a think and I could watch the video, that's what turned it around for me. Also I gues its the kind of song that's hard a kid to easily relate to in the first place, while I understand it now.

Patricia Conroy's version of this was a big hit at the same time as Martina's. Hers is fine, but by no means career defining.

I think "Independence Day" is gonna win this but now I'm also just hoping "Concrete Angel" is runner-up. <3 Sad to see WWYB miss out on Top 5 over "My Baby Loves Me." Meh.

I actually thought that mashup was pretty awful... Lol. I didn't see it live, of course, but from the videos I saw, she literally looked like she was hurting her voice trying to launch right into WWYB right after finishing WYS...and that was a half-step lower than she usually sings the 3rd chorus of WWYB... :( Plus the songs, as similar as they appear at first, really do not go together cohesively.

I still think this is "Independence Day"'s to lose. However, it would be SO cool to see "Concrete Angel" pull of an upset! I also wasn't too confident in its ability to last, because I know slow melodramatic songs like that have a tendency to either be loved or eviscerated by the masses.
My predictions!
3. "Concrete Angel" 2. "A Broken Wing" 1. "Independence Day"
As much as I would love to see a surprise ending, this is one rankdown where I really do not see that happening.

As much as I don't love the song, that fact that it's no longer possible live makes me really sad, so it's hard to watch even when it is the actual version and amazing.

Lol "House of a Thousand Dreams" is the highest-ranked album track? Rly? That's a surprise to me! Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT song. But I have found myself listening to it less through the years, in contrast to many of her other great album tracks. I will say that my favorite part is the way the lyrics describe the family's situation from different perspectives of all the family members though!

so before I post #3 I have to say how happy I was that multiple people voted for "House of A Thousand Dreams" as I absolutely love that song. It slowly became a favorite off of that album. Out of all album tracks it is not one I expected to be #1.
"Wild Angels" and "My Baby Loves Me" both being top 5 make sense to me though I would swap them both for "Whatever You Say", "Wrong Again" and "Where Would You Be" tbh. Have those 3 and swap out "Concrete Angel" and Top 5 would have been perfect imo
Anyways, I hope everyone has enjoyed following along, sorry for the wait tonight, I am trying to make it look great and post it asap so almost there!
