After listening to Fireflies (years after promising myself I would), I realized that I should have ranked that duet much higher. :(

After listening to Fireflies (years after promising myself I would), I realized that I should have ranked that duet much higher. :( Right??!! I finally revisited the album for the first time since I was like 12 while preparing for the Faith rankdown, and I was floored by how good it is as a whole! And I have started to have a new appreciation for "Like We Never Loved at All" since I submitted for this Tim rankdown.

One more song to go until the top 20, and one person is still going to lose their #1 before we get there. I guess you could say life is fast and the world is cruel... :(

Oops, another one I severely underranked! I had that in my top 20 at one point; I guess I should've kept it there. Such a great song that's gone too soon. :(

Here's my top 20 prediction, in no particular order. Live Like You Were Dying Humble And Kind Diamond Rings And Old Barstools The Cowboy In Me Angry All The Time Just To See You Smile Where The Green Grass Grows Everywhere Please Remember Me Something Like That Meanwhile Back At Mama's Don't Take The Girl I Like It, I Love It Better Than I Used To Be Can't Be Really GoneHighway Don't Care If You're Reading This One Of Those NightsMy Next 30 Years Red RagtopAlso, I just dug this gem back up from page 11, when we were just starting the top 45... You got 17/20 on your top 20 predictions! Pretty remarkable :) The 3 you didn't count were "She Never Lets it Go to Her Heart", "I Need You", and "Not a Moment Too Soon".

...And right on the heels of "It's Your Love", we lose the last remaining Tim/Faith duet (although Faith will still appear a couple more times as a background vocalist). And with it, CoJoFan FINALLY loses #76!I'm assuming you aren't counting "I Need You" or "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" because they are technically "featuring Faith Hill" songs? Otherwise, songs that are getting eliminated at this stage all leave me sad with some exceptions. For me "Grown Men Don't Cry" just didn't compare to his other phenomenal singles around that time. "Like We Never Loved At All" is another one. It's nice but it overstayed its welcome for me. Also I prefer "It's Your Love" and "Let's Make Love" compared to the latter Tim/Faith duets (with one exception of "Meanwhile Back At Mama's"). "Red Ragtop" has a great story, but the chorus drags it down a lot for me.

I just realized it and went back and fixed it, and then saw you had quoted me LMAO I completely forgot about "I Need You"! THAT is the last remaining Tim/Faith duet. "Meanwhile Back at Mama's" is one that I had in mind when I said she would appear again as a background vocalist, and then the other one is "Angry All the Time" :) And I think that's it.

I'm learning something new every day!

I thought I'd be the only one into "Tickin' Away"; glad to see I'm not alone. My rank there seemed low, but I sent in a jumbo list for those album tracks ( bboat11 can testify to that ;) ).

I think I ranked this one a little high, but still thought it would be a lock for the Top 20. I probably should have had it somewhere in my 8-10 range instead. 27. "My Old Friend" Album: Live Like You Were Dying Country Airplay Peak: 6 Year: 2005

Well, after this past weekend in which I had to put down my 14 year old dog, I have a new appreciation for this song and would have ranked it muchhh higher. A very good song that says exactly what I need it to say.

This is one of those songs that I like better because of the music video. Every time I see this video along with Faith's Stealing Kisses for some strange reason I think of June Carter Cash, like I said... Strange

I remember when that album first came out it was the one song I wanted to see released as a single and unfortunately that never happened. Still listen to it from time to time

We lost some really great songs today, including "Shotgun Rider" and my all time favorite Tim song and one of my all time favorite songs in general, "Red Ragtop". The story "Red Ragtop" tells is so original and unlike anything I've ever heard before. I also love the production and instrumentation, and I think Tim sounds great on it. I really wanted it to make the top 20, but at least it came close.

"Better Than I Used To Be" is such a great song. I seem to be in the minority, but I actually prefer Tim's version over Sammy Kershaw's, but Sammy's is great too.

Album Spotlight: Emotional Traffic
Released: January 24, 2012 Label: Curb Records Producer: Byron Gallimore, Tim McGraw, Darran Smith Runtime: ?? AllMusic Rating: 4/5
Tracklist: 1. Halo 2. Right Back Atcha Babe 3. One Part, Two Part (ft. Faith Hill) 4. I Will Not Fall Down 5. The One 6. Better Than I Used to Be 7. Touchdown Jesus 8. The One That Got Away 9. Felt Good on My Lips 10. Hey Now 11. Only Human (ft. Ne-Yo) 12. Die by My Own Hand
-This was Tim's final album with Curb Records!
-"Felt Good on My Lips" was included as a new song on Tim's previous album, Number One Hits, and went on to be a #1 hit itself. Then it was included on this one. So some people count it as the lead single for this project, while others count "Better Than I Used to Be" as the lead single. You can be the judge for yourself, but just know that it was a single almost a year and a half before this album was released... Lol!
-Tim finished recording this album in late 2010, but Curb Records refused to release it. Tim went on record basically saying that Curb was refusing to release it in an attempt to prolong his contract with them, since he only had one more album on the contract and they knew he couldn't get out of there fast enough once it was released.
-In May of 2011, Curb filed a lawsuit against Tim saying that he was in breach of contract because he had started recording for the album too soon.
-Tim then filed a counter-suit seeking advance payment and recording-fund reimbursement, unspecified damages, and a jury trial, which began in July 2012.
-After a long, drawn-out lawsuit process, Tim FINALLY won, the album was released, and he immediately signed with Big Machine Records and quickly announced his first album with them. (He may have signed with them before the lawsuit was officially over; I don't remember).
-On a different note, "I Will Not Fall Down" is co-written by Martina McBride! One of the few times she has had a hand in writing a song for another artist!
Country Airplay Peaks: Better Than I Used to Be - 5 Right Back Atcha Babe - 59
Rankdown Placements: 20. Better Than I Used to Be 61. Right Back Atcha Babe
Album Tracks:
I Will Not Fall Down Total Points: 10

I love "I Will Not Fall Down" and almost voted for it myself. Not sad to see "Better Than I Used To Be" go out here because while it is a great song it just never stood up to his other hits for me.

Album Spotlight: Number One Hits
-countrymusicjunkie , do you know if Tim actually agrees with this album's existence? I know he basically shunned the 3rd hits collection as well as everything Curb has done since the label switch. But I like to think of this as a necessary hits collection similar to the 1st and 2nd ones, mostly because it was a good idea to release a comprehensive album celebrating his boatload of #1s, plus it offered original material that was released to radio concurrently.
No, Tim didn't agree with this album either. He finished recording his Emotional Traffic album in the summer of 2010 and turned it into Curb Records with the intention of releasing "Felt Good On My Lips" as the first single and then releasing the album in the fall. Instead, Curb released "Felt Good On My Lips" to radio as the lone new single from this number 1 hits album and released it in the fall instead of Emotional Traffic.

I have always felt like his first and second ones were pretty necessary at the point in his career in which they were released. To me it started getting really weird when Curb put out the 3rd Greatest Hits cd like immediately after the second one came out... But it wouldn't really surprise me if Tim was kinda forced to put out the first two hits collections, because his unhappiness with Curb had to have been bubbling long before the debacle of Let It Go/Greatest Hits 3/Southern Voice/Number One Hits/Emotional Traffic.
