I doubt she will out a reggae/dancehall album in cold weather. I could be wrong though. Realistically, I dont see this dropping until next spring with a lead single towards Feb/March. I hope its not that long but who knows.
As for the #1s - anybody who thinks she wont grab at least a couple more #1s is insane. I am a very proud and longtime Lamb but lets be real. She could easily - and probably will - ovetake Mariahs record. BUT you have to factor in that MCs #1s are HER songs. I think Rihanna has three - correct me if Im wrong here - #1s that are features which in my eyes, isnt the same. The charts to MC in the 90s are a completely different ballgame to how it is now for Rih. Much as the charts w Beatles/Elvis were much different in regards to MC.
I love them both and I wish they would both release some f**king killer smashes now bc I am dying for something fresh and new. This year in music has been bleak af.

A number #1 collab doesn't count even if she was the lead?🤔🤔

I also think the "dancehall album" is potentially just a rumor that could have been started based on one or two songs. If I had a dime for all the times an artist's album is going to be a (insert genre, theme, etc, here) - and it ended up being inaccurate - I'd be a rich man.
Don't get me wrong - I'm here for it, and it's entirely possible - but I'd be more wiling to bet it'll end up being a varied album with a dancehall lead single.

I love them both and I wish they would both release some f**king killer smashes now bc I am dying for something fresh and new. This year in music has been bleak af. 1) "WORK" was released in January and still went on to become a collosal hit. Albeit a significant portion of its chart run did continue into the Spring it was still, essentially, a 'winter release'. Reggae/Dancehall music isn't seasonal; over time it has gone to be associated with 'island/tropical'-oriented iconography which are best suited for the summer months indeed but they are still merely musical genres/styles. Moreover, November to February are some of the hottest months across the Caribbean as opposed to May to August. 2) Do you really think Rihanna is still capable of surpassing Carey in #1's? I honestly feel as if she could have done so several years back when she was more consistent with her releases but she's slowed down over the last three to four years. Pre-2015 Rihanna moved at a much faster pace than Post-2016 Rihanna. She probably isn't even that deeply invested in her singles records anymore. Ultimately, I would love for her next era to grant her a 15th and 16th #1. Perhaps more. That all depends on how smartly she releases though and the timing behind them.

If Drake surpasses her and receives the title instead...

She should nab at least another #1 from the new album, if not a couple. That would be by age 32. She could easily match Mariah's record. Even if it's another couple years before a new album, she'd only be 34 or 35.

What a fucking legend. Only Rih and her beauty could make those eyebrows work and not look like a mess. I live for her modelling abilities.

Rihanna will definitely be getting more #1’s in the future. The singles performances from ANTI exceeded everyone’s expectations. She sent a dancehall song to be a multiweek #1, a trap/r&b song to the Top 10 while a house influenced collab went Top 3, followed by a doo-wop inspired ballad into the Top 5. Even with a longer break between albums, Rihanna is still on the top of her game and both radio and GP are still here for her. I’m sure her new album will have at least one #1 smash. Let’s not forget that Rihanna can still do many highly successful collabs. Send her in the studio with Bruno Mars or The Weeknd and radio/GP will probably eat it up.

I'm a Lamb and I've already accepted that Rihanna will most likely match or surpass Mariah's record unless Mariah starts releasing new music that the public is into. And Love on the Brain deserved to hit that #1!! I was also convinced that Wild Thoughts was too...soooo close!!

Rih got these girls reaching for the tweezers. I always say if Rihanna does it it will probably take off. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some pencil thin eyebrows walking around now because of it.

She has apparently been on set for about a week now in Cuba filming either a short film, movie or music video with Donald Glover/Childish Gambino. People on twitter are saying it's called "guava island".

She posted a video in the recording studio via IG stories.
Kuk (sound/vocal engineer) and Omar (A&R) are also there with her in Barbados.

Word on the street is the album is done.
We should be getting news on the lead single very soon.

I saw something about a single for Thursday, August 30th. Makes sense to get that end-of-summer smash hit for the long Labor Day weekend. Album release November 2nd is my guess.
