^That ship has sailed I'm afraid. I think the general public is more interested in younger acts, not the veterans.

At this point, I'm not even convinced she's actually performing, it'll just be a fashion show. Chile, the TRAUMA.

1.2M likes in 5 Hours.
Not only was this the fastest tweet by a musical act to hit 1M likes, the numbers are still growing.
The GP truly did miss the Queen.
This woman will always be famous!

I'd be shocked if there wasn't new music soon There is. She’s been spotted at studios in both NYC and L.A, one of which she recorded several of her most famous songs. She was also spotted leaving Jay Brown (Roc Nation A&R Manager) office on two occasions, all of this in the past 10 days. She is LITERALLY in the process of starting a new era and I feel as though new music is very close. ☝🏿☝🏿☝🏿

the struggle when you need to choose 8-10 songs out of 40+ hits.

I'm curious to see how this performance will compare with her MTV VMA Video Vanguard performances. I loved her picks for those performances, they were put together really well and captured her career nicely. I really don't think she needs to do "Pon de Replay", "Umbrella", "SOS" or whatever at this point in her career, she has so many well-known hits to choose from, some of which are more recent and fit her current, mature voice better. I also will take anything from her at this point. She can do a medley of ANTI singles and I'd be very much content.
For those who need a refresher, at the 2016 VMAs she performed: Performance 1 "Don't Stop the Music" "Only Girl (In the World)" "We Found Love" "Where Have You Been" Performance 2 "Rude Boy" "What's My Name?" "Work" Performance 3 "Needed Me" "Pour It Up" "Bitch Better Have My Money" Performance 4 "Stay" "Diamonds" "Love on the Brain"

I’ve been waiting years for Rihanna to do the SB halftime show. This is the most excited I’ve been for a halftime show since Gaga in 2017. I can just imagine how epic her setlist is gonna be and I’m sure it’ll include the classics Umbrella, Only Girl, and We Found Love.

There is no way she is not releasing new music and doing the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl will promote her as a musician again and showcase a new song.

I liked her skipping Umbrella on the VMAs but I think it could be an iconic moment on the SB.
I hope We Found Love and Love on the Brain make the cut. Stay too. I'd love to get Disturbia but that's a long shot imo.
Hopefully no Pour It Up or something random like that. The first two eras can also stay away.

Let's hope she remembers her songs when she performs them because she probably hasn't even thought of them in years lol.

Pon de Replay would be cute as a "look how far I've come" moment, but it's not necessary. While I love SOS and Unfaithful, they wouldn't make much sense to perform over her more memorable hits. (Though I do need an Unfaithful rerecording eventually, the vocals on the original are...)
The GGGB era NEEDS to be represented. It was the album that turned her into a superstar. Umbrella makes the most sense and it could be visually stunning for a halftime show, so that's my pick. I would honestly be a little saddened if she skipped it in favor of Don't Stop the Music, but at least that's the second best pick. (Imagine Hate That I Love You with special guest Ne-Yo instead 🥴). Disturbia would be another badass pick, and I would 100% do it over Umbrella if the SB were in the fall, but at this point it's not necessary when she's got so many other iconic tracks.
Rated R is such a pivotal moment in her music career, it really should be represented, but I don't know how. Obviously, Rude Boy is the big hit, but it's also the least like the album lol. Hard could kinda be a moment, but it's fairly forgotten among her hits. If Rockstar 101 wasn't so cheesy, it would be iconic to have Slash be her guest, but... It could be best to just skip RR all together or have Rude Boy appear very quickly somehow.
Loud!! Only Girl is a MUST. S&M would be hot as hell too, and omg imagine her inviting Britney on stage, but it's probably a bit too on the nose with its lyrics to be performed there. The NFL would probably tell her to nix it. (And imagine the Karens. They couldn't even handle JLo and Shakira.) What's My Name would be fine too, but personally OG feels more huge arena/biggest show of the year ready.
Talk That Talk will obviously be represented with We Found Love. That could even be the finale, and it would be epic. Where Have You Been would be amazing in that atmosphere too, but it's definitely overshadowed by some of her other hits.
Diamonds is another MUST. It's another one that could be used as a finale too. It even opens the door for inviting Sia as a guest. Stay would make for the best ballad choice of the setlist too. I would die if she went left field and did Love Without Tragedy or Mother Mary, as those two are her magnum opus, but that's a major pipedream lol.
Anti has Work. That's probably a given for the setlist, and I imagine it would be H O T at the halftime show. And of course Drake would be the perfect guest. Needed Me would kick ass too, and honestly, if any album is going to have two songs performed, this is the one. Love on the Brain, personally, would be amazing to see as well, but it makes sense to skip it.
As for features, Run This Town would be badass. Love the Way You Lie is probably her biggest, and Eminem could return, but if he didn't get her last year for that one, I don't see it going the other way around. Live Your Life would be cool if T.I. wasn't a terrible excuse of a human being. Lemon would pop the fuck off, but I'm afraid it's a bit too obscure of a pick. Loyalty could be hot as well, but it's hard to find a spot for it.
So maybe, given 1-2 minutes each: Umbrella Only Girl Stay Run This Town (Jay-Z special guest) Needed Me Work (Drake special guest) Maybe squeeze a bit of either DSTM or Rude Boy here And then I'm immensely torn between the order of the last two. Diamonds then We Found Love? Or We Found Love then Diamonds? Both need performed, but damn both would make excellent finales.

When she emerges from the stage, surrounded by an army of dancers, in a sickening pose whilst “THE WAIT IS OVER” plays in the background. I-

Can anyone shed light as to what made her change her mind to perform now versus 2019 when she was very adamant at not doing it. I recall it was to stand in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick. Has NFL made changes? Is it because Apple is the sponsor now??

Has NFL made changes? Is it because Apple is the sponsor now?? 1) Kaepernick has made amends with the NFL. He said so himself and has been making strides to get back in. 2) Jay-Z is one of the primary producers of the Half-time show now and he is one of Rihanna’s mentors and closest friends. If anyone can convince her to do anything, it’s him and Kanye West; two people that have been at the forefront of her career since 2004 or at least supporting her as a whole. Overall, the issues that many had with the NFL, in support of Kaepernick, have subsided since 2020. She even said so, herself, in 2021 that would go forward and do it and that was post the controversy too.

I agree with a lot of the songs on y'alls setlists She can do whatever and I'd be satisfied
I could totally see her surprising us all though and basically perform a medley of only new songs from the album that will be released shortly before the show, like if anybody can pull that off it's her after such a long hiatus (I don't think this will happen but wouldn't put it out of the picture either) I doubt she's doing this to boost her catalogue so it wouldn't matter that much as long as she serves an amazing show which she undoubtedly will

According to a poster from Deuxmoi, new song will be out just before Halloween and the album will be out in January. Take this with a grain of salt of course.

It would make more sense to release a new song at the beginning of January and then release the album just before or during Super Bowl week.

I highly doubt S&M is going to be performed. Lyrically, it’s too direct for the Super Bowl and I’m sure the NFL will say no to it.

The announcement has made me want to go back and listen to some of her albums. I've never really cared for 'Talk That Talk' but I am suddenly liking it a lot more than I used to.
