You still have provided exactly 0 reasons as to why it is "timeless" and "unforgettable", as well as why it'll "still be fresh". Only time can tell if people in the future will also call it a classic, but for me it FEELS like it will stand the test of time. Why I think it is a potential classic? Because it stands out among the rest, sticks in your brain and is something worth remembering, but those are just my feelings and other people might disagree. But the people commenting proof that atleast it lasted a short year, doesn't mean it will last a decade or more, but it atleast is a good start.

As Gary said, what is memorable to one person could be not memorable to another. I nearly completely forgot songs like Panda, Sorry, One Dance, Never Forget You and Don't Let Me Down (the latter which I loved) but that doesn't mean the majority of the world doesn't still have those songs in their playlists. For example, my brother really liked 7 Years last year. Yesterday, a friend of mine said Castle On The Hill is basically 7 Years 2.0 and my brother had to be reminded what song 7 Years was again, and that song was absolutely huge here. This discussion is pointless as there is never going to be a point reached where there is a definitive answer - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It is the same as "what counts as a hit". It is all completely subjective. I am not saying people shouldn't discuss it as they can discuss whatever they want, but it does get a little annoying when threads are full of pages and pages of the same discussions over and over that will never reach a conclusion.

DLMD is so not a classic lol Arguably I think from hits of last year. Work & Hold Up are two of the most memorable songs One cause of Rihanna's enunciation becoming amazingly iconic And the other cause of Bey wearing that Sexy yellow dress and wrecking stuff up with a baseball bat with a smile throughout While I do remember both, I doubt either of them will last. The only thing I remember of either song is the annoying chorus of work and the bridge of hold up, which made me wanna bash that bat into her skull to stop that noice. Both things I remember of it aren't positives, it might last, but i doubt it will be remembered in 25 years.

But that's my point though: nobody cares how you feel. I liked Roses and it always stood out for me whenever it was playing. Hell, I liked Sean Kingston's Fire Burning back in the day and could always tell it apart from the other electropop tracks, same thing. How one individual feels has zero relevance on whether something obtains classic status at large. And there still have been zero actual reasons provided for it. This is like when someone tried to delude others into thinking that Cheerleader was a remembered hit. "It feels [for me]" isn't good enough. I feel like songs from the period of the FM radio rise need some kind of asterisk, because they did get radio play and exposure, it just wasn't counted towards the charts.

Starboy doesn't feel as memorable as Work Literally Work is infamous for it's lyrics sounding like gibberish Easily it has become a big song for Rihanna and probably the most memorable of her 2010s singles with like We Found Love & Diamonds As "memorable" as "Work" by Rihanna is, I think most of this board already forgot one important piece of info on this "memorable" Rihanna song. If it were so memorable, we should probably remember this.... {Spoiler} Drake was on the song too ;)

They were simply saying that come another summer, everyone would be playing Cheerleader again (this was earlier this year I believe), which for me wasn't a substantive point in the slightest. Others were bringing up a point that since its peak, they hadn't heard it at all, in comparison to the other big hits of that year or other summer hits which still kept popping up, and the person trying otherwise was simply using their own personal opinion as something more substantive than it was.

Happy for The Chainsmokers. Unfortunately, the last week of their incredible run in the top 10.
Wild Thoughts with 41.8 million streams really shocked me, it's much stronger than I thought. It's going #2 in the next 2 weeks.

Glad Believer hit the top 10! Their comeback is pretty strong, last album their best performing song (I Bet My Life) peaked at #28.
Wild Thoughts really has a good potential to be the next #1 with that huge streaming stats. At least having Rihanna there will guarantee a female presence on the Hot 100 in the succeeding months and possible discussion point here on Pulse ;)

What is a good measure of "classic"? Recurrent airplay/streams/sales X years after its peak? Or is it purely subjective? There is probably a subjective element to everything, but at the same time there is a lot of data that can help us determine what has stuck around to be a classic; continued streaming, continued airplay, continued sales, use in movies/TV, being sung on shows like Idol and The Voice, etc.
