Maybe allow another chance for Feel It Still? Idk. I've debated on it, but I would probably be forced to rule it out because then I would have to make other exceptions. Y'know what I've contemplated? IDK if it's more trouble than it's worth but I considered allowing songs that got eliminated before the top 64. 'Cause like, songs in the top 128/the first time they appear don't always lose to unpopularity, sometimes they just get a bad draw, so maybe they could fare differently with another shot. That's why I did that whole thing in Discography Madness where the losers of the top 128 round went into a separate draw lol, which I recall you saying was a bit too complicated for you lmao so IDK if this idea would be any better or whether it's still more trouble than it's worth.

This is so ironic because for me Drive is so instantly recognizable and I always associate it with Incubus. Like aero, I had no doubts that its familiarity would lead it to the top spot; I'd even argue that it's possibly the last 'great' rock classic to be a mainstream hit. After that things went in the direction of corporate rock, which is extremely polarizing as a whole. (Someone should do a buttrock rankdown just for shits and giggles lol) Hm, interesting. I should have asked the people that said they only recognized 'one or two songs' what songs they were lol. I would have gone right with "Church Bells" and "Gone, Gone, Gone" as the most recognizable to this group. I wonder if it's an age thing for a few of us? I don't know everyone else's age, but I was just 19 and in college when it came out so it's very nostalgic for me...that's why I knew right away that nothing else I listened to would be able to snatch my #1 from it. But I forgot to say earlier, I'm so glad I went ahead and did this rankdown at the last minute. I've been so wrapped up in real life and working on my own rankdowns that I haven't really been making time to listen to new (or at least new to me) things, plus I've never been great at music discovery when it comes to looking for rock/alt music. So I owe you as much a thanks as you thanked us for participating

I am so tempted to suggest Take It All Back because I actually like that song.

lol and I'm so mad it was used last tournament because that would have been a song I would use. It didn't even make it past the first round. :'( I had it as my #1 seed for a reason, not my fault people didn't recognize greatness before it hit CHR I voted for FIS in the first round, then was against Katy Perry...

So I owe you as much a thanks as you thanked us for participating I think age definitely is a factor. I mean, I was like 6 when it was popular (I'm 20 now), but I was also super into rock music growing up, so it would be more familiar to me. A lot of the posters here now come from the pop crowds that are in their mid-teens, and it's not like "Drive" gets like any recurrent play on pop stations anymore, usually only Active and Alternative stations, so I wouldn't expect them to recognize it. But I do think it's something everyone has heard. It was a very popular song. Curious, were there actually any first listeners for "Drive"? With this crowd, I wouldn't think so though.

o_0 Really? It's by far the most well-known song on this list, had tremendous crossover success, and is one of the few mainstream hits in a group of relatively obscure songs. It stood out to me from the start as the most obvilous candidate. I think "Drive" is one of those songs that sounds so familiar, it's just the name doesn't come to your mind right away. Or maybe that's just me, lol. This exactly to me.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I do like the idea, but I think it might be hard to regulate. Not in the fact that people don't know what they're submitting (well, yeah, I guess), but also I don't think I would be able to catch all of them. That's why I'm learning more towards not allowing anything. Plus, maybe then it could cause users to do other songs they wanted to submit. And you're right, it is too complicated for me lol. It's more that I just don't feel like having to configure all of that, but I also don't have as much time now as I did when I hosted Year-End and March since I have a job now, and other responsibilities that I didn't have a four months ago.

Drive gets Hot AC recurrent play, but that might just be me, and it's not that regular anyway

Drive gets Hot AC recurrent play, but that might just be me, and it's not that regular anyway I feel like I may have heard it on my local Hot AC station too, but I'm not positive. Hot AC would make more sense to play it as a recurrent than CHR.
