Interestingly, if not for the promo single debut, COTH would be considered a major disappointment since it only reach #21 during its promoted chart run.

Probably because the album hype has been dying down, lost some of it's sales, streaming, YouTube and airplay.

And with both on the decline, the next #1 will likely be something other than Wild Thoughts I'd say eminem, with rap/hip hop momentum right now, and how the hype for his comeback after 4 years since MMLP2, and new his BEARD, no doubt #1 debut is coming. Hopefully rihanna will be on his album too for the rihanna blocks her own song's sake but im also okay with kendrick tho.

An Eminem and Kendrick collab is something I would pay good money for. As long as they don't give us another Love Game (their last collab).

With the same chart run minus the #6 week, sure, but it's been out for ages so it wasn't fair to expect it to become a major hit after it's sold so much and been streamed millions of times.

^ But it's been skirting around the lower regions of the top 40 for a while now, so when all is said and done, it's shaping up to be a pretty substantial hit. Might even make like the year-end top 50.

I DID NOT KNOW THIS Either way, I wouldn't say he'd get a #1 debut just yet, but prolly will be top 5 or 10.

Yeah. And it cracked the top 10 on Pop radio. It's no "Shape of You", but hey, not a lot of songs are.
Happy to see "Unforgettable" getting a new peak. Also, not my favorite Shawn Mendes track, but TNHMB is OK and at least it's not another random viral hit.

Congrats Despacito. There just is something about 10+ weeks at #1 songs. Surprised only 35 songs all time achieved that.

Congrats Despacito. There just is something about 10+ weeks at #1 songs. Surprised only 35 songs all time achieved that. inb4 gary tells us the little known fact that most of those are from after 1992 Don't have to. Billboard is going to do that for me now. Excerpts from the Billboard article "Despacito" (released on Universal Music Latino / Raymond Braun / SchoolBoy / Def Jam / UMLE / Republic Records) becomes just the 35th single to top the Hot 100 for at least 10 weeks, dating to the chart's Aug. 4, 1958, inception; only 3 percent of the Hot 100's 1,065 total No. 1s have reached double-digit weeks at the summit. (Note that it's been more common for songs to lead for at least 10 weeks since the Hot 100 adopted Nielsen Music data in late 1991; while before then, only 3 percent of all No. 1s led for that long, since then a loftier 11 percent of all No. 1s have done so, with 33 of the all-time 35 No. 1s to notch at least 10 weeks on top having reigned since 1992.) "Despacito" is the longest-leading Hot 100 No. 1 since Sheeran's "Shape," which ruled for 12 weeks in January through April. The record? Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men's "One Sweet Day" led for 16 weeks, in 1995-96.

Fans are still jamming to Artpop 4 years later, haters can keep hating Being a fan doesn't mean blindly liking (or forcing yourself to like) everything an act does; you can dislike multiple songs, and yes, even entire albums, and still be a fan of them overall. True, but Artpop is not as bad as people say. And it spawned three top 20 hits (although Dope was a fluke) Anyway it's very off topic here, I am to blame. I just don't like it popping up EVERY SINGLE TIME that an album underperforms... Although maybe it's flattering that "this is his/her Artpop" has become a definition of something Regarding the chart, WHY OH WHY That's What I like, Shape of You and Humble are still 4, 5, 6... All three acts have moved on to new singles, Mars not so long time ago though.

Could we not with the 'Witness = Artpop' argument? 'Witness' is not Katy's 'Artpop'. Even Gaga got a second hit out of that 'flop' era, something Katy has yet to accomplish. :sip2:

Spotify USA 1. Despacito - Remix by Luis Fonsi | 1,329,430 (+18k) 2. XO TOUR Llif3 by Lil Uzi Vert | 1,279,377 (+51k) 3. Wild Thoughts by DJ Khaled | 1,275,395 (+34k) 54k difference from #1, closest ever (from the main version) This past days difference: 119k - 82k - 70k - 54k
Credit: Starkboy
Also it should be noted that XO isn't a threat on the Hot 100 in any way even if it does beat Wild Thoughts to #1.

You didn't read my post... Yes, but what you're posting is misleading. The real gap isn't even close at the moment. How so? The post is referring to how far WT is from overtaking Despacito's main version. I even put in parentheses "main version" so that it is clear that it isn't taking into account the second version. Not sure how that can be misleading when all the information you need to support my claim that WT is getting closer to overtaking Despacito's main version is right there.
