Well when it's 2017 there will be high participation and I imagine it'll be the blood bath that 2016 was. I don't want to do the whole "pop posters" thing but I hope they don't come in and tank the more country-sounding songs (I'm still bitter about Leo having "I Got a Car" in his bottom 20 in the 2014 country rankdown) I don't mind the pop posters as it adds in more participation, but at the same time I hate how that can be the end of so many great songs.

Honestly how tf can this be in anyone's bottom 10. So in addition to both Kenny Chesney songs I have to ask .indulgecountry if someone else sang this song would you like it? I predict the answer will be "yes" to the Kenny Chesney songs, because his big problem is with Kenny as an artist. But "no" to "Remember When" because Alan is a perfectly fine artist, and that song could easily be considered boring af. (I love it, but I could definitely see others finding it boring.)

I will say for my sake I am making sure that "Body Like A Backroad" gets as low as possible for being such a shallow piece of sh*t song.

And here I go catching up: "You'll Think of Me" is the epitome of overrated! The only thing I like about the song is that it rhymes lol. Otherwise it's just OK. "There Goes My Life" is great. Definitely one of Kenny's better songs. I love the melody and think the lyrics are great too. Despite "How Far" not making my top 50 I do really like it! The HOW FARRRRR part in the chorus always brings it down a bit for me, though. But I do like the song I promise. Stunning vocal performance from Martina as usual. Knew this one was gonna be top 10! "Me And Emily" is a very powerful song IMO. I love it musically and actually love Rachel Proctor's voice. Not shocked this made top 10. LMAO I thought I would be the lowest ranking for "Remember When" so thank you .indulgecountry lol. I just don't like it. I get it's appeal, but it's not for me. "Long Black Train" doesn't do much for me. It's there. I definitely think it is overrated. My fucking #94 is gonna win I just know it.

NO you do not have me on your team!! "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" is great. I would go after you for spreading misinformation again but this one was kind of my fault, because I did say I didn't like it at one point because I thought y'all were talking about "If You Don't Know Me By Now" instead. But when I realized the discussion at the time was about "I'm Gonna Love You Through It" I quickly explained that I was talking disliking "If You Don't Know Me By Now" bboat11 and fearlessarrow tagging you in this so you all know the truth lol. Fair enough. Can we at least count on you hating "Red Solo Cup".

It better get bottom 5, it deserves it. Honestly the hype is real for the 2017 rankdown. I really don't see a clear cut favorite to win. Obviously there'll be some that won't stand a shot (Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Kelsea Ballerini come to mind) but as a whole it's going to be entertaining to watch.

I would also love to see songs like "In Case You Didn't Know", "When It Rains It Pours" and "Road Less Traveled" do well. Also I'm curious to see how well "Fast" will do since that is a good Luke Bryan song.

The only song I hope doesn't win is Suds tbh as I think the song is extremely overrated. I cannot remember where I ranked it but it isn't as high as Perfect, Whiskey Lullaby or Live Like You Were Dying I'm sure of.

I think they'll be Top 20 to Top 10.

I feel like 2017 has been a better year for country music overall, but there also haven't been as many standouts this year as there have been in recent years. MAYBE Maren Morris will be able to get there with "80s Mercedes"? If not, I still expect that one to do very well based on its top 3 placement in 2016... If I even choose to include it because it would be a duplicate...

I will only be happy if the duplicates go if that means Runaway June gets in with "Lipstick" as I fear they'll miss the cut. What's usually the chart peak cut off for a year end list for country music?
