Didn't Hats Off To The Bull hit #1? Soundgarden blocked them on Billboard

Wasn't the lowest ranking! Thanks for that, wheat. "These Days" didn't win by as much as I expected it to, but it might have been the most predictable winner outside of "Words as Weapons" in 2014. You guys better not tank the much better Foos songs that will be in the 2011 rankdown just because "These Days" won.

4. Face to the Floor - Chevelle (90) this is payback for Van Halen and Aerosmith. Of course, when I put it at #90, I didn't know you guys were going to f**k the classic icons, but it worked out anyway. Except that Chevelle's songs are better than the "classic icons". ;) Not even close. There's a reason why none of them even cracked the top 50 on the actual chart. (you can give an exception for Rush since that went top 20 on this rankdown) This all goes back to what rainie said. the year 2012 was pretty weak and we didn't have much to play to begin with. The fact that most of these top 10's were the same top songs in the last Alternative rankdown we did, speaks volumes about the active music that chatted this year. You guys go with what you like and I went with what I would like any year in rock. The way each of us ranked these songs isn't surprising at all.

The fact that there weren't any non-Alternative songs in the Top 10 proves that Active has always been irrelevant

The fact that there weren't any non-Alternative songs in the Top 10 proves that Active has always been irrelevant "Still Counting"?

1.. These Days - Foo Fighters This is exactly the one I would have put at #1 if we were just ranking these 10 songs. The hardest thing for me was to rank my top 40. I had to decide between the icons, The one hit wonders, the first time listens and the songs I've already seen on the other alt rankdown, but I did rank this song much much higher in the Alt rankdown we are doing next.

Eh, boring winner.
I love the Foo Fighters, but I never saw "These Days" as anything special.

I see you rigging this in your favor, rowell. :kii:
Seriously, though, congrats on finally being first on one of these.

Why are so many people down on "These Days"? I personally think its one of the Foos best songs. I'd only put "Best of You", "Everlong", and maybe "No Way Back" ahead of it. The chorus is so great, it just screams "rock song" to me ears.n Absolutely love that song. Glad it won.

I guess I'm happy These Days beat Satelitte, since I don't want Rise Against to win an ACTIVE rankdown. But when you're excited for that mediocre of a winner, you know you have looooow standards.
Bleh, onto 2011 alt.

These Days is alright. I'm miffed that Chevelle got beaten out by that and Satellite.
