Second time Lana is around when Billboard has "technical" problem :|

Like, what's going on here? No charts, no updates, no article. Are they on vacation or something? The least they could do is say that the charts have been delayed or something. What gives?

This could explain the delay.

Let me guess, Meek Mill and Lana Del Ray are the reason for the delay. Isn't this just fucking perfect, not only is this the second time we have a problem because of Lana Del Ray, but Meek Mill as well!

What did Meek Mill do exactly that caused a delay?

^Yeah. It's here: OMI's 'Cheerleader' Back to No. 1 on Hot 100UPDATED Aug. 18, 2:15 p.m.: This story has been updated to reflect new chart data, which was reprocessed by Nielsen Music following the story's original Monday posting. As a result, Lana Del Rey's "High By the Beach" debuts at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 instead of No. 7. On Digital Songs, it debuts at No. 10 instead of No. 1, with 67,000 sold, instead of 248,000, as originally reported. The information below has been updated to reflect corrected data. What a fucking mess. I don't know where I was when that happened. I was following the charts super close in mid 2015, but I guess I was just not checking the preview on that particular day. I'm not a Lana fan, but I would have been pretty pissed by that because "High By The Beach" is fucking beautiful. It would have been one of the best Top 10's of that year (which was already packed with fantastic Top 10's).

They are waiting on correct data. Charts will be posted tomorrow. Glad they are waiting to get it right.

I remember reading through the Hot 100 thread for the week that Lana Del Rey shit happened back when I was just a lurker and not yet a registered Pulse user. That was a mess.

I think maybe they're also making sure some of the Linkin Park songs are above #50 with the correct data.

Man, these posts by the people on ATRL are cringe-inducing. If I have to hear another "talent won" post, I'm gonna go insane.

Billboard Chart Timing Announcement
8/1/2017 by Billboard Staff
The release of Billboard's Aug. 12-dated charts is delayed.
A top-tier data provider has encountered technical issues, preventing the delivery of its data to Nielsen Music (which provides the sales, streaming and airplay information for Billboard's charts).
Due to this issue, and because there is a close race for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Billboard is holding back the release of all of its Aug. 12-dated charts until we get further clarity from the data provider. The chart results will be announced and posted as soon as possible this week. Thank you for your patience.

And at least from what I've seen here, people are more respectful and professional in terms of who's #1 in albums and stuff compared to that. This makes my decision to join here instead of ATRL even more justified.

Any early predictions for next/this week regarding Unforgettable and Wild Thoughts? The prior is ahead on iTunes and Spotify and has decent radio gains. Any chance for a battle for #1?

Despacito's much stronger than both. Wild Thoughts has a 40-45 million airplay advantage over Unforgettable, so it should stay at #2.

My guess is that they are trying to determine how many of Meek's free Tidal streams can be authenticated, and not just inflated by bots/manipulation, etc., as it was mentioned that might have been a problem. They also might just still be considering whether to count the streams at all, even though they said earlier they would. And it's not just the Billboard 200 that would be affected, the streaming chart and the whole Hot 100 as well, as it could potentially be littered with a whole lot of songs if all of the streams are to count, though I highly doubt any of them would be #1.

I am glad they are delaying it to ensure it is 100% right. If they rush and get it wrong, that will be something remembered for years ("remember 2017 when X didn't debut at #1 because of Y and Billboard did nothing about it?!"). The extra few days will be worth it
Can someone explain to me what this Meek Mill problem is, anyway?
