these guys definitely have a way with single titles..."Drown" was pretty solid though so hopefully this leans more that way and less "Blow".
just listened to that snippet, it sounds very similar to "Blow"...not looking forward to this.

I think this band is so good I hope this song makes justice as good they are.

Good lord, that sounds like a Coleman Hell song. "Drown" was excellent but all anticipation for this is gone.

Sounds very old time western. Nothing from TOAd has blown me away since "Angel", but I'm hoping for a comeback tune.

Theory of a Deadman are a band I have long hated, but I thought their last era actually had a couple of decent songs (I liked Drown and Angel, and Savages was passable. Blow though...). Title isn't making to confident in this one's quality, though.

I have a love/hate relationship with Theory Of A Deadman. When I like a song of theirs, I love it. When I don't like a song of theirs, I hate it. There's not much in between. Here are my favorite Theory Of A Deadman songs, in order:
1. "So Happy" 2. "Angel" 3. "All Or Nothing" 4. "Make Up Your Mind" 5. "Drown" 6. "Not Meant To Be" 7. "Hurricane" 8. "Lowlife"
Those eight are the songs of theirs that I enjoy listening to. "Santa Monica" and "Bad Girlfriend" are OK, but I won't go out of my way to listen to them. The rest, barf.

could we get something more like Bad Girlfriend, please? That was one of the best party songs of the last 10 years.

Song is called "Rx" and the album is called Wake Up Call and it's out on October 27th.

Hmm, I actually like this one quite a bit. The instrumentation is really the best part, definitely leans towards the country/rock spectrum a bit. The lyrics could be a little better, but I can at least appreciate the message behind the song.

I'm not sure how I feel right now.
I really like the message of the song, but it's frustrating because the lyrics could have been so much better. Name shouting Candy Crush, Netflix and Chill, and Snapchat in a rather serious song about addiction just comes off as cringeworthy. If Tyler puts his mind to it, he is actually a very good writer. It's just that he relies on gimmicky lyrics in his writing that ruins everything.
As for the sound, I don't mind it? It's nothing really interesting honestly. It's a bit poppier than normal, yeah, but it's not like what Linkin Park, All Time Low, and Weezer did, so I guess it could have been worse.
It sounds like a potential grower. I like it better on the second listen than I did the first.

It's nothing special, but not terrible either. I wish rock bands still made rock songs.

I actually kind of love this. The lyrics have some duds as they're pretty obviously by a mainly joke band trying to be serious, but I can look past them for the most part. However excusing the dud lyrics many of the others hit really hard, and the hook for this is awesome. I feel like this'll burn on me quickly but for now I really dig this.

Kind of like it. Not sure if it will burn off on me or not because of this sound.

this isn't as bad as "Blow" but that's a low bar to clear. The instrumental/chord progression is pretty generic though, and doesn't sound like it fits Active even with how light it's become recently. Then again "Angel" made it to #1 so who knows.

I don't understand these guys. I know they're capable of making some gem songs out of their many horrid ones. Do they think going this route with songs that have some of the worst lyrics I've ever heard is the right way to go?

Don't like this one at all. Lyrically its just lazy and thats become a trend with these guys since 'The Truth Is' album. Tyler is well capable of writing good lyrics but you'd never think it listening to some of their songs.
The last album was a clear move towards the heavy rock side and now they intend to swing the whole way back around ?
'Scars and Souvenirs' had a great mix and is still their best album.

I'm afraid that the song is too "pop" for Active and the band is too closely tied to loud guitars for CHR. Nonetheless, I like it in a weird way.

Meh, this song's burned on me very quickly. The chorus still sounds great but the production feels very cheap and the lyrics drag this one down a lot.
Sales are actually okay for a TOAD song in 2017, but assuming they drop off a bit (which is likely since the song is still new) I feel like this'll end up underperforming. It might scrape into the top ten but then crash hard after peaking, setting the stage for the second single to flop hard. Just got a feeling.

Or this could flop(crossesd fingers) and they release single #2, als "Angel" Powerballad, and it goes to number one ,sometime in May 2018? ;)

I heard "Rx" for the first time on radio in Nashville two weeks ago, and the second time in Greenville/Spartanburg last night. As I listened last night, I officially became a fan, and I bought it on iTunes today.
Also worth noting is that "Rx" already has more than 50,000 Shazams despite only recently entering the Top 20 on Active. By comparison, "Song #3," the big Active hit of the summer, reached 100,000 Shazams around the same time that it reached #1, so there's evidence that "Rx" is transcending Active playlists to some degree.
