I actually have high hopes for this now! I'm glad she isn't attempting Christmas classics, which shows an incredible amount of tact and self-awareness. She is free to mumble and drool all over songs she has written though!

I think Puppies are Forever will be about how a puppy is not just for Christmas. If you follow Sia on instagram or Twitter you’ll see how much she loves animals, especially dogs so I can see this being the songs theme. I can’t wait to hear this album!

Puppies Are Forever is already my song, I can tell. This album is about to be a kitschy, adorably cheesy mess and I am here for it!

WTF was she saying? Its not horrible but it doesn't sound like much of a Christmas song and I didn't catch a word of it. It was exactly as expected. lol

"Santa's Coming For Us" is legit awful but this is better. Not enough for me to not think this album/project is just going to be a huge hot mess, but there's at least a nice melody in "Snowman" beneath her marble-mouthed warbling.

Just gave this one full spin before getting some shuteye. I feel the Guardian and Slant were a bit harsh, but this was admittedly underwhelming.
- She's unintelligible for about 60% of the album but aside from Santa Is Coming For Us, that's actually not as much of a hindrance as I expected. Well, it's not even that big a deal for SICFU - I can't see it hanging around long on radio, but that song sounds like it was made for a Target commercial. - It's very Ronettes - even the slower songs clearly take from that era - which surprised me. I thought there'd be more varied sound. - Which brings me to the album's real Achilles heel, it's just kinda there. There is nothing wrong with consistency mind you, but I expected this album to either be really great or really awful. Instead the album doesn't make a big impression one way or the other.
Favorite songs - Candy Cane Lane (also tailor made for a Target commercial), Snowman, Puppies Are Forever (which is basically the Christmas version of How Much Is That Doggie In the Window)
The one thing that could have taken this album from 'she didn't embarrass herself' to 'wow, this is really great' (b/c I feel like the songs themselves were just fine) was more use of dynamics in the production. The ballads could have all benefited from some swelling strings and the uptempos and midtempos needed to make a sharper differentiation between verses and choruses. It sounds like everything is the same volume so it was really easy to feel like things were running together and zone out in the middle of a song. Sunshine technically gets this right but like I said, the volume on everything is the same so you don't really notice. Crescendos are major key.
Overall I'd give it a 3.25 out of 5.

I agree mostly with Cynthia. I really enjoyed it but it was a bit just 'there'. I didn't have very high hopes for it just because it isn't an easy task to walk into a studio and say "I am going to write a Christmas song!", especially ten, with none being covers. I still have three or four songs to listen to but even from those, I feel the tracklist could have been shorter. As well as that, some songs could have been combined. A few them were quite repetitive and if she had just combined two songs' lyrics into one song, it would have eliminated this problem.
I also usually never have that much of an issue with her enunciation. Her vocals are good enough to carry a song regardless of whether I understand it or not (I didn't know the Chandelier verse lyrics for months after hearing it, until I finally decided to look them up), but in this there was a bit too much of "what is she actually saying?". That's not to say the vocals were bad, her harmonies were as amazing as they always are.
3.5/5 :)

This lacks wow moments but it is a quick, fun little fever dream of an album. I'm ready for some videos though.
The production is vintage Sia with a little bit more polish and shine.

The uptempos are catchy as fuck and the ballads are gorgeous.
Her unique perspective to pop is applied here and it works really well for her.
This is such a refreshing Christmas album. After "One More Sleep," "Underneath the Tree," "Christmas Time to Me", it was cool to to ride a different pop lane for Christmas.
(Ugh, and a disclaimer before people start to coming for me. I LOVE THE SONGS I LISTED. But they are sonically the same song.)

"Candy Cane Lane" is iconic. I rarely spin Christmas music before Thanksgiving, but I've had that one on repeat.

Is there a reason Sia is doing so well on Spotify. 7th most streamed artist at the moment. Is this just because of her Christmas album or has she been this high for a long time. I remember when Cheap Thrills was popular she was also really high. Just wondering because I’ve just switched to Spotify and haven’t seen where she is in ages.

New remix of Helium featuring David Guetta and Afrojack was just uploaded to her VEVO YouTube channel. I hope she pushes it as a single. It’s actually a good remix, probably Guetta’s best recent song.

youtu.be/XMOHgSU8SUcIt’s had a teaser so this could have a good push as a single. Hopefully it performs better than 2U or any of his recent stuff.

She’s going viral for a series of tweets in response to the backlash her upcoming film is getting:

She really showed her ass with this one. Her excuse is that an actress whose autism manifested itself in the way the main character’s does would have found it difficult to shoot the film. But that makes no sense. She could have either rewritten the character to be on a different end of the spectrum (which she probably should have done anyway considering how stereotypical this depiction is) or cast an autistic actress who is more “high functioning” but can, y’know, act like she’s on the other end of the spectrum. It’s not nearly as all-or-nothing as Sia is making it seem.
