4 studio albums, with a trajectory of 3x platinum to 1x platinum to non-certified to using a game that barely anyone plays anymore to promote a single off an album that will also likely be non-certified. Definition of sustainable: able to be maintained at a certain rate or level. Yup, seems Meghan's career sure has been sustainable! Grammys and hits just like Milli Vanilli because those things are true markers of a sustainable artist! 8 years of a career seems like 20 when you read it at a certain angle, I guess! Her diminishing rate of return is definitely because she is a woman and not because she just doesn't really have the interest of the GP anymore, but hey, a thread on Pulse should be evidence enough of a sustainable career!
I definitely needed the amusement today, so I am grateful. I am going to revisit the incredible songwriting and vocals of M-Train today!
Dude, this is NORMAL.
There are *extraordinarily few* artists who maintain superstar status over several years.
She reached the top of the music industry and still has a career 8 years later. You sound either young, or completely out of touch with reality. Even most *famous* musicians would kill for her level of success.
And, just to clarify, I did not say her diminishing returns from the GP are because she was a woman. I specifically said what YOU said, and continue to say, are double-standards.
Not every artist is literally Taylor Swift or Beyoncé. You REALLY needed that said to you?

While "No" did well, it seemed like her sound switch didn't fully translate with the GP.
I also would just like to point out, there are several tells that this person is not being honest about them being a fan. You don’t come in to an artist’s thread, say you’re a fan, and then deride her in multiple ways like this, get the name of her second album wrong, not know she just had a top 15 single even though you just expressed incredulity if any song of hers would reach the top 20 on any format.
I know it’s super *~*uncool and sucks~*~ to potentially think I have a point, but this person deserves the pushback they’re getting, and why don’t we focus on what they’re saying instead of being hung up on whether they fit your personal definition of sexism or trolling. You don’t think they are? Fine. But they certainly are not posting like they’re a fan.
Edit: The person also decided to Like a post of mine in the very Hot AC radio thread (you know, the thread that the poster apparently was completely unaware of when saying she’d never have a top 20 single on any format again) for Takin It Back, when the post said that the song lost its bullet. He went out of his way to like an old, bad-news post about Meghan not doing well. Again, I know it would be ~*~the worst thing ever~*~ to maybe acknowledge I have a point, but generally, coming into an artist’s thread and deriding them while saying you’re a fan is a pretty consistent tactic of trolling.
Anyway, I will back off, because I’ve made my points. No regrets for calling out what that poster was saying.

The album isn't bad at all. I think it probably should have been 13 tracks in stead of 16 because so many of the songs sound similar but its OK. Made You Look probably should have been the first single, or Mama Wanna Mambo, with a bilingual version.
What irks me about Meghan now is that she seems really desperate for manufactured viral content. I'm sure she and the label are well aware that the odds of her having another huge single is very low, and they should just accept that she's going to be an AC/HAC artist and lean into it.
I'm almost done listening to the album. I've enjoyed very much. Her voice is in great shape and the songs are fun and happy. For sure an album to put you in a good mood. I didn't expect to listen to the whole album.

Gave the album one listen yesterday and I really enjoyed it. She brought some bops! She's really overhated despite consistently making some solid bangers throughout her career, and she's such a likable person imo.
Takin' It Back Made You Look Lucky While You're Young Breezy Don't I Make It Look Easy Shook Sensitive
I was intrigued after seeing "Made You Look" going viral. The album sonically reminds me of Title and it's a successful remake of that era's magic. Especially in cuts like "Takin' It Back" and "Lucky". On the other hand, the mid-tempos/ballads are the weak links. "While You're Young" is the only one that stands out. I would cut 5-6 songs and make it a more compact project.
Sensitive Made You Look Takin' It Back Don’t I Make It Look Easy? Shook While You’re Young Dance About It
I agree that the ballads are the weak links but it’s a pleasant listen overall and I like that she was able to revisit her doo-wop sound without it becoming a cheap rehash of her debut; it really does sound Title evolved.
