It was so beautiful hearing Reba say singing with Carrie was a dream and having Carrie say she got schooled. Queen.

Thank you so much for posting that HQ video....this is my absolute favourite rendition of the duet with Reba and another artist that I have seen in past few decades. The reaction of Carrie was priceless- two legends of different generations sharing the stage. Y'all know Carrie will do the same for an up and coming artist or an existing legend- now and in the future. ETA:

*in narrator's voice from "Spongebob"* 1. Year. Later.
Carrie posted an Insta story of a poster for "The Storyteller Tour: Live from MSG." Looks like we're *finally* getting the live taping. Here's hoping it's a Netflix thing or something, though; nobody cares about DVDs anymore.

I'm so excited about this. I would love to see Carrie live but I'll probably always choose a different concert over her so that's amazing. Plus the Storyteller tour was awesome.
Ps: The UK/Ireland shows were crazy, imagine seeing Carrie, LBT & Sam Hunt all in one night. I'd prefer a film of these shows but the MSG show is still more than I ever thought we would get.

I was thinking this could be similar to Greatest Hits... something to tide us over while Carrie could possibly be pregnant.

Hmmm interesting observation but unless she bought her masters from Sony before leaving I think the tour DVD would be licensed to them. Side note: I’m mad she didn’t release it before Grammy deadline...

I remember from the Sony President interview, he said something about Carrie leaving was a big loss AND she left her catalog behind.
What does this mean? Does she have to pay Sony every time she performs her old music? Is that a dumb question?

No. It just means ONLY Arista is allowed to release anything she recorded for them during Carrie Underwood's stay there. Had she bought the masters, she could release anything at anytime a la Garth Brooks.

The writers are owed royalties when the songs are performed not the label so does the label own the live recordings?

It's only for the recordings. Sony invested money into the recordings, not the writing of the songs. So Sony only gets money for the recordings. The songwriters/publishers get paid every time she performs it. If she were to ever release another greatest hits album of some sort and wanted to include "Blown Away" or "Jesus Take the Wheel" she or whatever label she is on could then purchase the master (recording) of those songs and use them on the new GH album, or the likely cheaper option would be for Carrie to re-record it with the new label's financial backing (this is what Craig Morgan did for Black River and his GH album). That route wouldn't require Carrie or label to pay any money to Sony (to my knowledge).

I'd love to hear new recordings of songs from Some Hearts especially! Her voice has grown so much since 2005.

Word is being thrown around that a new song called "Paint" leaked and then got taken down pretty immediately afterwards. Anyone know of anything about this?

She looks GOOD Is this a brand new song that you found for this upcoming album era or is it from a different album era?I'm not trying to start any arguments here, just trying to see if it was a new song or an old song. I'm positive "Dirt Dance Floor" was written for the upcoming album. Barry Dean is quick to update his repertoire. The first registered co-writes for Miranda's The Weight of These Wings were actually written with Dean, as well. None of those made her album though. Sorry if I’ve been MIA for a few weeks. How much percentage are you sure that this song was written for the upcoming album?Like I said before, not trying to start an argument, just curious how long ago it might’ve been registered for the upcoming album.

^^ Two legends on the same stage, what a treat for fans: I think Carrie might be under the weather since she sounded uncharacteristically off during her solo set, but she at least sang my favourite CU song ever, 'Wasted'. What do you mean she was off during that set?Your hearing might need checked if you think she sounded off during that particular set!!I thought she sounded perfect,as always!!

Anyone know of anything about this It hasn't leaked, but it's in the hands of a Taylor Swift demo collector. My gut says this track was recorded for a previous album cycle, but the source is the same guy who got ahold of a "Cowboy Casanova" demo months in advance, so I guess anything's possible. He posted about it on his site: OCT 2017 NEW CARRIE STUDIO TRACK -- The IC has obtained a new studio track by Carrie Underwood entitled "Paint". This is a very high quality commerical-sounding song that could be meant as an upcoming single. We like it even better than any song on Storyteller, which was a great album. How much percentage are you sure that this song was written for the upcoming album?. 100%

I haven't. I don't think I'm welcome in Taylor's Inner Circle.
