Yay ty! It'll be a while before things are due anyway, this isn't open for submissions until after the songs are all revealed, which should be in a couple of weeks - and then the submission window will be like 5-6 weeks so the actual reveal probably won't start until like the end of Semptember/beginning of October. Plenty of time to try a few songs out before you decide whether or not to commit.

O. I would have never guessed that it was Troye Sivan because I was looking for songs that have the featured structure and I didn't think about the '&' collaboration.
Regarding "There For You", it was indeed serviced to pop radio and it had an impact date, but it didn't do anything. Sigh!
#11. Bella Ferraro. I really hope it's "Set Me on Fire", but the year (2013) is making me to doubt, so it should be "Forgot You" instead. #12. Samantha Jade featuring Pitbull - "Shake That" #13. Dami Im - "Sound of Silence" #14. Grace featuring G-Eazy - "You Don't Own Me"

I was so sure that it was Bella Ferraro. I hope (at least) a song of hers is included though~
Anyway, if it isn't Bella, I guess it's "You" by Nathaniel.

SONG #11: Nathaniel - You
Season 4 of The X Factor seems to have been the launching point for a lot of careers lol. Nathaniel Willemse placed 6th in this season, and this song was his major label debut after previously releasing music independently. I didn't follow along with The X Factor while he was on it; I only started paying attention right at the end when I found out Samantha Jade was 1) on the show and 2) still in the running. I got turned on to this song later on.
SONG #12: Samantha Jade - Shake That (ft. Pitbull)
I have long been aware of Samantha Jade, from the time she was signed to Jive Records in the states trying (and failing) to make her career happen. It took for her giving music one last shot with The X Factor for her career to finally stick. This song was the first single from her sophomore album (and first released album of original material). I think this is probably her best music video, although the song is not; she has several other songs coming up, including singles from the original sophomore album (which was scrapped after personal issues). The story with 'Shake That' is, the song was only half-finished without a bridge, and Samantha felt she had nothing else to say with the song. This is where Pitbull (urgh) was brought in, filling the middle section with a guest rap.
SONG #13: Dami Im - Sound Of Silence
Dami Im was chosen to represent Australia in Eurovision last year; I was initially not impressed with her selection but she defied all the odds to win BIG with the juries and place us 2nd overall behind 2016 Ukrainian winner Jamala. The studio version is good but it's the live version that really takes the song to that next level, with Dami utilising her powerful voice and range to make the song a LOT bigger. I would've loved to include follow-up single 'Fighting For Love' as well, but that bombed out and missed the top 50.
SONG #14: Grace - You Don't Own Me (ft. G-Eazy)
This is the debut single by Grace Sewell (sister of Conrad Sewell). Her version of the Lesley Gore hit 'You Don't Own Me' is notable for being produced by Quincy Jones, who also produced Lesley Gore's 1963 original. If I remember correctly she and Conrad traded places at #1 with her song peaking atop the ARIA chart back-to-back with Conrad's song 'Start Again' (not released as a US single). This should have been a much bigger hit Stateside. :(
SONG #15: Jessica Mauboy - What Happened To Us? (ft. Jay Sean)
Jessica Mauboy's sophomore album 'Get 'Em Girls' featured a number of high-profile collaborations making her a perfect candidate for an international breakout. Its first three singles were collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Ludacris and Jay Sean. While 'Saturday Night' (featuring Ludacris) was a top 10 hit, the two singles on either side of it weren't as successful, and this song was the final single from the original version of the album; she would later go back and record more material for a re-release, which led to two more hit singles (both of these songs are also coming up in this rankdown).
IN THE NEXT REVEAL REVEAL:
Song #16: This male singer fronted a massively successful Australian rock group. His solo music sounds N O T H I N G like his work with that band. (From 2015) Song #17: This male singer was an Australian Idol runner-up; not winning the show saved him from being forced into a cookie-cutter pop guy. (From 2011) Song #18: One song from this band has already been revealed; this is the second and final song of theirs to be included. (From 2014) Song #19: This song by an Australian producer has already been guessed at appearing; it was just associated with the wrong clue. (From 2016) Song #20: The debut single from another X Factor Australia contestant. (From 2015)

SONG #16: Daniel Johns - Aerial LoveDaniel Johns was the frontman for the Australian band Silverchair, who not only were huge locally, but in the 90's they were also quite successful Stateside on alternative/rock formats and with top 10 albums. In 2015, Daniel released his first solo material, which took his sound in a much more experimental pop direction which has polarized fans of his previous work in Silverchair. SONG #17: Matt Corby - BrotherMatt Corby competed in the 6th season of Australian Idol at the age of 17, placing as the runner-up to season winner Natalie Gauci (not appearing in this rankdown). Not being locked into the winner's contract and having to deal with executive meddling gave Matt more freedom to develop his own music and style, which is not pop music. This song was the main single from his 'Into The Flames' EP, gaining widespread exposure thanks to Australian radio station Triple J (whose programming emphasises Australian content and alternative music) and their 'Hottest 100' list. SONG #18: 5 Seconds Of Summer - AmnesiaThis is 5SOS's second international crossover hit, and their second (and last) song to appear in this rankdown. My opinion on them hasn't changed since I revealed 'She Looks So Perfect'. #NEXT SONG #19: Flume - Say It (ft. Tove Lo)Off the back of a breakout hit, and with a feature from Tove Lo you might have expected (or at the very least hoped) that this would do better Stateside, but it didn't and that makes me sad. But anyway - here it is! Flume's collaboration with Tove Lo which was a big hit in Australia. SONG #20: Cyrus - StoneCyrus was the second-last winner of The X Factor Australia before the show was retired here. 'Stone' was released as his debut single following his victory. IDK what else to say here, there's a pattern to the winners - they win, their single drops. Lather, rinse, repeat. And this isn't even the last winner's single to appear in this rankdown - there are still more to come. IN THE NEXT REVEAL REVEAL:Song #21: This duo wanted to show there was 'Life On Mars'. Then they were brought down to earth and that album was scrapped. ( From 2012) Song #22: This is the last song from 2017 to be featured in this rankdown. It was featured in an episode of CW drama 'Riverdale'. ( From 2017) Song #23: The biggest hit from its respective album era, and she didn't even put it on the album. Nice one, fave of mine. ( From 2013) Song #24: The artist name suggests solo female, but it was actually an all-male band. No lies detected. ( From 2010) Song #25: This X Factor runner-up scored back-to-back #1's with his season's winner. ( From 2013)

SONG #21: The Veronicas - Lolita
'Lolita' is a non-album single by twin pop duo The Veronicas. It was originally intended as the lead single to their third studio album 'Life On Mars', but the album was delayed after the single stalled out on the ARIA chart. 'Life On Mars' was eventually shelved after the girls terminated their contract with Warner. They would sign a new deal with Sony which led to the eventual release of their self-titled third album in 2014. A number of tracks from the scrapped 'Life On Mars' project have since leaked onto the internet.
SONG #22: Dean Lewis - Waves
This song was first released in 2016, but it didn't become a hit until this year. The song was featured in the 4th episode of 'Riverdale', the teen drama based on the characters of the Archie Comics, which airs on The CW. This is the last of the four hits charting in 2017 to be featured in this rankdown.
SONG #23: Ricki-Lee - Come & Get In Trouble With Me
Released in 2013, this was presumably intended as the lead single from Ricki-Lee's third album; but like The Veronicas, it stalled out in the 20's. The album 'Dance In The Rain' wasn't released until late 2014, and 'Come & Get In Trouble With Me' was not included; while the only single to crack the top 50 was 'All We Need Is Love'. In my opinion, this is easily Ricki's best video. IDK if this video is geo-restricted - someone will need to point that out to me (there are other uploads on YouTube but the audio quality is horrible - presumably to avoid getting dinged for copyright).
SONG #24: Amy Meredith - Lying
This band are stuck with the OHW tag, with 'Lying' their only hit. It reached the top 10, but no other song charted in the top 50. Their debut album was received poorly which led to them getting dropped by Sony. They made an attempt at a comeback as independent artists but things didn't work out and the band has since split.
SONG #25: Taylor Henderson - Borrow My Heart
Taylor Henderson was the runner-up to Dami Im in the 5th season of The X Factor. The timespan between release of their singles is a bit on the unfair side; with The X Factor airing in the middle of the sales week, Dami Im only had a few days of sales for her debut single 'Alive' to peak at #1. Taylor's song, released just 4 days later, benefitted from a full week of sales to replace Dami at the top of the chart.
IN THE NEXT REVEAL:
Song #26: Of f**king course I would include this artist and song in this rankdown. Have you met me?! :sip2: (From 2010) Song #27: This artist got her start on the original run of Aussie talent show 'Young Talent Time' and was a major presence in the 90's. (From 2013) Song #28: This song has been a major US hit in its genre (but not a Pop/Hot 100 hit). (From 2016) Song #29: While Juan was certainly here for 'Lolita' that wasn't the song I was referring to. And yes you were right Juan, AlunaGeorge aren't Aussies. ;) (From 2015) Song #30: This is one of the later songs in a string of non-album singles from my favourite X Factor winner. (From 2014)

is song 30 Up by Samantha Jade Lol yes. Is #26 a Ben Hazlewood song lol Ben's not in this rankdown lol. :'( He's only had two songs chart in the top 50 and they were both 'The Voice' performances. If I were to include him it would've been his version of 'I'm With You' but it got cut. and is 28 This Girl by Kungs and Cooking on 3 Burners No, but that song is coming up. Alt is the wrong genre. ;) Also, no EOTS in this rankdown. This is based on when they charted in Australia, so 'Walking On A Dream' predates this particular game.
