Go away Garth.
Overall this was a really great show and I loved the "Amazing Grace" intro from Eric Chuch...he's the Entertainer of the Year this year hands down (as was Carrie last year).
Pleasantly surprised with Keith's win for Single of the Year (not disappointed at all by his win); great to see "Better Man" win Song of the Year as I thought it was most deserving.
Luke Bryan's performance of "Light it Up" was atrocious...he sounded bad (doesn't help that the song is crap).
Garth couldn't even sing live and had to resort to a recorded track of "Ask Me How I Know." Go away.
Miranda was absolutely stunning during her performance of "To Learn Her." Wow.
Pink killed it! Amazing vocalist.
And another great performance from Chris and Morgane on "Broken Halos" which may just be one of the best songs of 2017 (wish they would've mentioned it was Morgane expecting twins but whatever).

Carrie had me in tears, and Brothers Osborne had me dancing. So, moved by both.

Thrilled that Brad and Carrie openly took a stand against gun violence, white supremacy, and Trump in their monologue. So proud to be a fan.

Overall, I thought it was a good show. The Troy Gentry Tribute has me in tears. What a great way to honor Troy. Carrie was absolutely amazing. I feel like P!NK was added after Shania and her team pulled out of this yearβs show. I could be wrong, but P!NK, as much as I love her, just seemed so out of place tonight. And, a perfect way to end the night with Alanβs performance.
Highlights: Troy Gentry Tribute Brothers Osborne Little Big Townβs Glen Campbell Tribute Sugarlandβs surprise appearance Carrieβs Performance Keithβs Performance Alan
Meh: Kelsea/Reba Chris Stapleton Brad Paislely P!NK
Annoying: Garth

The show was pretty slow overall.
Carrie needs a Gospel Album NOW. I saw a lot of names on that screen behind her that truly meant a lot to me growing up and when the Vegas faces and names came up, I lost it.....
All the tributes were good, although the Dierks and Flatts pairing was not great.
Winners were ok. Not a big fan of Pardi but I am good with him winning.
The Kane Brown appearence was not good. Love the song though. The past couple of years it seems Brad has been pissed after his performance.
I know this board has for the most part had a love affair with Kellie Pickler. For some reason these awards show like to always shoe horn her in. She could possibly be the most annoying person in the genre....IMO
Loved seeing Alan Jackson. His Who I Am album is a Top 5 favorite of mine and I will be going through his discography this weekend.
The Pink song was actually good.
Stapleton is a human record. Not sure I have ever heard him miss even seeing him live.
Garth "lipping" it is a non story to me. Should he have declined? Maybe, but he was nominated for the biggest award of the night. The guy plays 10 shows in 12 days most being 3 hour plus shows and has been doing it for over 2 years. I saw both his and Eric Church's show this year and I would have to say that I enjoyed Garth's show more. I have seen Eric 3 times at 3 different stages in his career and this tour was probably my least favorite of the three. I have seen Garth 3 times and this last show was probably my favorite of the 3. Once again just my opinion. I think Garth deserved it but if Eric won I would have been just as happy.

So Miranda won the only award I hoped someone else would win. I know Reba didn't really stand a chance but I'm still disappointed.
Album of the year award going to Stapleton is just wrong. I like some of his music but From the Room is just not on the same level as TWOTW. Miranda got robbed plain and simple.
Song of the year - It looks like the only woman Nashville likes is the one they can't have. It would be much better if Better Man won a single of the year instead and this one would go to Tin Man.
Entertainer of the year - I really don't see why Garth winning this is such a surprise for so many people. I know he is not (the most) likable singer, his marketing strategies are annoying and there are a lot of other stuff that bothers me about him but He is Entertainer in every sense of the word. He sells out arena made for 10.000 + people 5 nights in the row. I don't think there is anyone in country music who would be able to do that. I have never seen him live but based on youtube and instagram videos his shows seems to be great. But I do agree that maybe now is the time that he returns to retirement.

A few thoughts.
1. Brad and Carrie were good. In my eyes they didn't take a strong stand against the President, they made a joke that was funny and harmless, like they did with Obamacare a few years back, and the made little jabs at the other side too. Unfortunately, I think the media will run much too far with it on both sides.
2. I'm happy with most of the winners. I wish someone else would have Female Vocalist, but didn't actually expect that. Shocked Miranda lost both Song and Album, but I'm good with the songs that won.
3. It was really pleasant not seeing Florida Georgia Line ruining country music more, and Sam Hunt (even though he was there).
4. The opening of the show was waaaaaaaaaay over hyped. Having a lot of the artists come out was nice, but doesn't even compete with last year.
5. Carrie sounded amazing! Still disappointed we didn't get new music, but I'll take it. She did a great job with the In Memoriam section (which was new believe).
6. Pink was really good, and sounded better and country than some (Thomas Rhett), lol!
7. Like last year Entertainer of the Year didn't happen. I guess they forgot to do it, but when I look back at the past years of the CMA's 2016 EOTY will be Carrie and 2017 EOTY will be Eric.

I don't think either political side was upset about it one way or another. They poked fun at both sides, which in my mind is always the best thing to do. What kind of world would it be if everyone thought alike? Lol

Lol Exactly, the extremist on both sides (who are usually very few, but the loudest) will always look to take control of the narrative in the way they want to, but for the most part, and majority of the viewers I'm sure thought it was funny.

I didn't catch the first hour as I was busy watching Survivor.
I watched Garth Brooks performance and I was annoyed but I wasn't shocked.
Chris Stapleton winning album was so great. I know many loved Miranda Lambert but The Weight of These Wings hasn't held up as well as Chris Stapleton's album has. I personally don't think Miranda Lambert was robbed at all.
Brothers Osborne had one of the best performances of the night and I have. a feeling 2018 will be a great year for them.
Tim McGraw and Faith Hill did ok, but I was underwhelmed.
Pink is great and if pop singers are gonna perform at country shows might as well have talented pop singers.
Old Dominion was good. I've really grown to like their music.
Little Big Town sounded great, but I wish that Karen Fairchild wasn't the one behind the microphone at most of these awards shows. I really wish they'd put a spotlight on Kimberly Schlapman?
I will be ecstatic if Sugarland makes a comeback, only if the songs are more like their first two albums and not like their last album.
Brothers Osborne winning duo. Not shocking. Happy for them.
Maren Morris and Niall Horan to me had the performance of the night as they sounded so fantastic and I'd love if Niall Horan pursued country music. I think it could be a good fit.
Carrie Underwood sounded fantastic but I was hoping for new music. Hopefully that comes soon.
Little Big Town winning group isn't shocking. But I'm ready for someone else to win.
Brad Paisley and Kane Brown sounded fine. I was just left feeling meh.
Lauren Alaina sounded great where as Dan + Shay sounded awful. So I was kind of left eh. I really hope Lauren Alaina can have a decent 2018.
Keith Urban seems like a great guy. But that song is awful. It has a great message, but that chorus is literally just saying stuff and there's no cohesion in the song. Honestly, I would've liked the song more if a female maybe would've singed it.
"Chattanooga Lucy" is perfection and that performance was amazing. Eric Church is so talented.
Chris Stapleton was great and he deserved male vocalist.
Alan Jackson was great, and he's still got it.
Lastly I wasn't shocked Garth Brooks got Entertainer and I said as soon as he got it "Pulse is gonna have a huge fit or meltdown"

One funny thing about the show last night is that I didn't realize how much i missed Sugarland until their appearance yesterday. It was like seeing old friends LOL

At least Garth was sick and didn't want to give a crappy performance. I do really like his current single, even if I hate that he won Entertainer again. I thought he was lipping it for no good reason, so I feel better at least that he had a legitimate reason. Hopefully he won't be up for Entertainer again next year!!

I went to bed while Brothers Osborne were performing so I missed everything after it.About the winners, some were really predictable to me like Chris Stapleton and LBT get their awards and I wasnt on the mood to watch the whole ceremony.I liked that Brothers Osborne won video of the year, because its so good.

My thoughts from the show:
1. Holy crap at Carrie's performance. I literally cried. What an incredible tribute. 2. Of all the fucking years to have Miranda lose her nominations in Single, Song, and Album they pick 2017!? Come ON people. "Tin Man" and The Weight of These Wings should not have lost awards... TM losing Single I'd be fine with, but it whole-heartedly deserved to win Song and TWOTW sure as hell deserved Album over the lackluster half-album that Chris produced. 3. What an uneventful show when it came to the awards. So freakin predictable. Reward some new blood please. Eric should have won EOTY, Thomas MVOTY, Maren FVOTY, Old Dominion Group. Like seriously... what satisfaction do you get from awarding the same people something 4, 5, 6, 7 times... 4. I FUCKING SWEAR IF THAT SUGARLAND THING WAS JUST A TEASE I WILL CRY UNCONTROLLABLY FOR WEEKS. I NEED A REUNION. THIS IS NOT A JOKING MATTER.

People can have their opinions on the quality of Chris' album, but the cracks about its length are just sour grapes. 9 songs is most certainly an album. For other examples see classics like Michael Jackson's Thriller (9 songs), Janet Jackson's Control (9 songs), and Prince's Purple Rain (9 songs).
If Sugarland does ruinite it better be worth it. Making crappy music like their last few years won't be worth it.

Does anyone know when the awards will re-air? I forgot to record it and I was helping with harvest last night, so I actually missed the first hour and a little more beyond that as well. Or if there is a good website with videos of some of the awards/performances? I haven't been able to find much.

Apart from the use of "female" for his song, it's bothersome to me that Urban has been presenting it as coming from having two daughters. It's the same thing Matt Damon said about Weinstein. It shouldn't take having daughters for men to realize women are people who deserve the same respect and opportunities that man receive. I've never heard of either of the two men you mentioned, Keith or Matt Damon being insulting or disrespectful to women. I just think men like Keith and Matt or gentlemen in general aren't aware that there are men like Weinstein mistreating and abusing women every chance they get. It's a wake up call to me. I didn't really know or was raised to be disrespectful to any one. Weinstein was a man with power and thought he couldn't be touched. In my opinion Keith was stating that since he has married and has girls of his own, that this was a wake up call to him, too! He wanted to record this song as a tribute to all women and not just because he has 2 daughters. Keith has always showed so much support/respect to women when having mostly new comers opening shows for him. Katrina Elam, Miranda Lambert when she was starting out, Maren Morris, the Wreckers(not sure if I got their name right. Girl duo that didn't stay together long! That's all that's coming to me right now. But to me, Keith has always shown respect to women and not just because he has 2 daughters. JMO!

Weinstein thought he couldn't be touched because for so long he got away with it. And it has been shown that plenty of celebrities knew at least some of what was going on.
