Are there plans for hot remix? There's no need for one. It's a hot urban song, so yes, there is a need to have some rappers on it. Not to give it success, to keep the power going and now that she is a force she can rally up A List rappers for a hot fun remix. Nothing wrong with that

First female rapper to go #1 on the Hot 100 in like 20 years without throwing another rapper or a hook singer on it. Methinks she's doing just fine.

If BY gets a bad reaction when put into rotation, there's not much one can do about that. PDs aren't going to isolate the audience they do have just because the streaming crowd is into something different, especially since playing what is most popular isn't at all guaranteed to bring that streaming crowd back to terrestrial radio. Unforgettable is doing really well on top 40 callout but IMO that's because most of it is sung. Bad and Boujee and Humble had a pretty high negative and BY will probably be likewise when it finally shows up on the top 40 list. I think most radio-listening pop fans today just aren't willing or able to tolerate current hip-hop without a singer on the hook.

There isn't anything special or out of the ordinary about the performance of this song on CHR. It's the same outline for any big hit that originated from Mainstream Urban: Strong in other metrics, gradual crossover to CHR, sometimes faster, sometimes slower, and when the callout comes in, it is almost always right at the bottom, with a far far far smaller net positive than anything else. The best performing track on CHR with those origins in recent times was Bounce Back I think, which reached #17, which was relatively laid back, and that still got extremely low scores.

I suppose, I totally understand how callout scores and all that work but I guess with the CHR format we have to look at pop as it’s own exclusive genre instead of just being what “pop” originally stood for which is “popular”.

CHR, as any format, has an audience. If a song receives little support and favorability from that audience, while simultaneously giving it a very high negative score, which will indicate that past a certain point, playing that song would have a possibility of them changing the station, then they're not going to send it into the upper region. It's not unlike trying to send Ed Sheeran ballads to Urban, the audience will reject it. The "pop = popular so all popular songs should be played on CHR" argument is simply flimsy and not thought out.

Three #1 rap hits largely ignored by CHR this year. Interesting.......
I could be wrong, but to me it seems like mainstream culture is turning "urban" and terrestrial radio is resistant to the change.
EDIT: After reading the last few posts, I guess it makes sense.....at the end of the day, it's #1 where it really counts

The "pop = popular so all popular songs should be played on CHR" argument is simply flimsy and not thought out. I think some of it can be explained by the kind of anti-melodic sound that became popular on urban radio, which is sort of the antithesis of classic sing-a-long pop. That said, even melodic, hook-laden, attractive urban radio stars have been met with a shrug by pop audiences for years now. I gave up trying to figure it out a while back.

Not surprised, and good that they're sending it now since it's racing to the top at Urban. I see this peaking in the 20-25 range here, maybe a bit higher. Its peak is #23 on CHR so far, and if it can hold on until the end of the week, it'll rise to #21 as Niall and French Montana go recurrent. It's about to lose its bullet and just made callout. Highest negative, lowest positive, and 11th on favorites.
