Thank you to everybody who played and was patient (and not so patient) with my slow revelation process! I love almost all the songs on this list and it was honestly one of my favorite things I've ever got out of this board getting to see your thoughts and rankings of these songs.
Next up for me, I'll be hosting a rankdown of my favorite artist Terri Clark! Hope to see you there!

Ecstatic for the winner although it's my #3 (Jordan the list you sent made me believe this was my #2). "Whiskey Lullaby" utilizes both artist to their absolute best to phenomenal results. Alison Krauss is at her best when her voice evokes loneliness, and sadness. Brad Paisley is also at his best the less production there is. Alison Krauss is and always has been one of if not the best vocalist I've ever heard bar none. Her cover of "When You Say Nothing At All" is chilling to the bone. Her latest album is amazing and just great in epic proportions. Such songs like "Restless", "Goodbye Is All We Have", "Ghost In This House", and "Paper Airplane" are amazing and if another artist would have released them or gotten a hold of them I don't think they'd be as good as they are. "Whiskey Lullaby" was a song that I always liked, but it took until I got out of a terrible friendship where I thought this person, we were gonna be friends forever, they meant a lot to me, and then it ended (the now ex friend is still alive just fyi). This song meant a lot to me as I felt horrible and gulty and ashamed of myself. I always blamed myself after that friendship fell through . So hearing "Whiskey Lullaby" it evoked sadness in me, but I also told myself I would never end up that low and end my own life. I will say not to completely shun out Martina McBride as her song is also great bboat11. I remember when the CMT program aired. The music video producers said the scene of Martina McBride singing behind the burning house, they had to take that in 1 shot as that house was burning really fast. Also I remember Martina McBride said some of the embers from that house burning got onto the back of her shirt. Pretty badass imo.

Even though I like Independence Day and ranked it a few slots higher than Whiskey Lullaby, I'm glad WL won because I'm not really a fan of Martina in general. I was really hoping Strawberry Wine would pull it out. Anyway, it was really fun seeing how everything shook out. Thanks for hosting Kanenrá:ke !

My first time listening to "Whiskey Lullaby" was during this performance back in the day. I've been a fan ever since... such a gorgeous duet! The crowd cheering for Alison when she starts her solo part is such cute moment!

Yay @ “Whiskey Lullaby” winning (although I had “Independence Day” higher by 1 spot, it was SUPER close)!
And now “Whiskey Lullaby” has won two multi-artist rankdowns before a Brad Paisley rankdown has ever been done!

But I might honestly be in to participating in a Brad Paisley rankdown He has a lot of really good songs.

This is almost perfect end of a rankdown... My #2 and #3 are the top 2 songs When I wake up and saw this It made me really happy :) Even though I put Independence Day one spot higher than Whiskey Lullaby I'm very happy with the winner. Whiskey Lullaby is as sad as it is beautiful. Alison and Brad sound so good - their voices just fit together perfectly and the instrumentation, especially the dobro is amazing.
