Party in the M.C.R. (Miley Cyrus rankdown)
(or should I have titled it "We Can't Stop: The Miley Cyrus rankdown") Hi Pulse, I'm pulling a Taylor Swift and crossing over into hosting a pop rankdown after being the host for the Dierks Bentley rankdown! Now that there's been a Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato rankdown, it's time for a rankdown of Miley Cyrus who was one of the three big female Disney Channel stars of the late 2000s. The song list: The singles:
Ready, Set, Don't Go (with Billy Ray Cyrus) See You Again Start All Over 7 Things Fly on the Wall The Climb Hoedown Throwdown Party in the U.S.A. When I Look At You Can't Be Tamed Who Owns My Heart We Can't Stop Wrecking Ball Real and True (with Future feat. Mr. Hudson) Adore You Dooo It! BB Talk Malibu Younger Now Featured singles (I only included ones that were singles and are probably more well-known):Ashtrays and Heartbreaks - Snoop Lion feat. Miley Cyrus Fall Down - will.i.am feat. Miley Cyrus 23 - Mike Will Made-It feat. Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa & Juicy J Feelin' Myself - will.i.am feat. Miley Cyrus, Wiz Khalifa & French Montana Come Get It Bae - Pharrell Williams (feat. Miley Cyrus) Promotional Singles/Others:G.N.O. (Girls' Night Out) I Miss You Time of Our Lives Every Rose Has Its Thorn Hands of Love Inspired So the final list is 30 songs long. .indulgecountry I couldn't seem to get any indication that "SMS (Bangerz)" was a promotional single (I looked in the Miley threads from around then, I remember it leaking but not officially being a promotional single) and I wanted to keep the rankdown short (and if I made an exception for one song I'd have to make exceptions for many more songs which will increase the amount of songs), so I left it off the rankdown list. In addition to Au$tin 's comments about promotional singles, I added "Time of Ours Lives" which was a Radio Disney single and cut "Forgiveness and Love". Side rankdowns: 1. Send me a list of your top 5 Miley album tracks/any tracks Miley was involved in (including features)! If you want to send me more, that's fine too! I'll showcase them throughout the reveal! 2. Idk if there's any demand for this, but you can also send me a list of your top 5 Hannah Montana songs if you wish, separate from the Miley tracks side rankdown. If you send me a list, I'll mention them at some point in the rankdown process. For now, the due date is September 28th, which is a day before Miley's new album, Younger Now will be released! It's October 4th now!If you need extensions, please let me know and I'll consider it.

Just for reference now that the track list is final:
This list is tentative, and I want your opinions on the tracklist! Having to change the tracklist and asking people to re-submit is fine, but I would rather avoid it to keep the process smoother so I'll be taking your opinions for the next couple of days until the Demi rankdown finishes with submission!
1. The number of tracks is 30 as of right now, but is the number OK? I kept it at 30 to make it the same number as the Selena and Demi rankdown but I don't really care about how many songs are included in the rankdown. 2. Any tracks you'd like to see included? (especially for the select album tracks section: I picked one each from what I think are two of her biggest albums, and picked the one that charted the highest on the Hot 100) 3. In addition to the Miley Cyrus album tracks side rankdown, I'm also thinking about having a separate list for Hannah Montana tracks. Will anyone be interested? 4. Should the two versions of "See You Again" be combined into one song? If so, I was thinking of putting "Stay" from Can't Be Tamed as a replacement. 5. Any other suggestions or comments? The title is corny but I want an interesting name for the rankdown

Wasn't the Britney collaboration a promo single of some kind? Or no? I'd love if that were included...
And I think you should combine "See You Again" as just one entry for the list.

Is the Rock Mafia remix really that different than the original See You Again? EDIT - If you wanted to make a few more posts I can delete this and ask again after youre done. Not really It's fine you don't have to delete it, I just wanted to make a few reserved posts on the first page so that I can edit the posts with results where it's easy to find (basically on the first page) so that people looking at it later won't have to go through the entire thread to find out the results.

I for some reason get that feeling too... I have to do more research on that. I just went off what Wikipedia said about the promo singles so But then again, even if it wasn't, I guess I could take out "Drive" (the highest peaking album track from Bangerz) and replace it with "SMS (Bangerz)" if there's demand... I'll probably end up combining "See You Again" into one entry. Thanks for the suggestion! Honestly home girl should have played her cards right with Bangerz and changed Adore You as a single abd replace it with anything else, then continue the album with a few more singles Drive, SMS, 4x4, Somebody Else, Hands In The Air, Maybe You're Right, On My Own, that whole album was actually really good despite how horrible her public personality was at the time.

Hoedown Throwdown is the only that I wish you wouldn't include as it's credited to Hannah Montana. What about Before the Storm with Nick Jonas?

Hoedown Throwdown is the only that I wish you wouldn't include as it's credited to Hannah Montana. What about Before the Storm with Nick Jonas? "Hoedown Throwdown" is from the Hannah Montana movie, but for charting purposes it was credited to Miley (and it makes sense since Hannah's not the one who's singing it in the movie - technically they're the same people but you know what I mean) so that's why I have it in the tentative list. I could take it out if more people think it should be taken out. I didn't include "Before the Storm" because it's an album track from Jonas Brothers' Lines, Vines, and Trying Times. I even took out Timbaland's "We Belong to the Music" which featured Miley because it wasn't an official single and only a promotional single from Timbaland. Even if I don't end up including it in the rankdown, you're still welcome to submit it as a part of the 5 extra tracks! Tbh I really like "Before the Storm" so I would love it if you could boost it up in the case it doesn't end up in the rankdown (Idk if I'll end up including it in my top 5 extras because I have too many contenders) Thanks for the suggestions and comments :)

Keep Hoedown. It's credited to her and performed fairly well on the charts, surprisingly.
G.N.O. was a promo single with Radio Disney too, so I'd say add it even though it likely would be one of the first ones out, lol.
I Miss You should be included in the promo single section. It was used in a Hannah Montana episode and due to its popularity, ended up being included on her debut album.
Right Here got quite a bit of airplay IIRC, but was never a single or even a promo single. Not sure if that should be added or not. The same goes for Two More Lonely People. IIRC, Right Here made it into the 60s on Mediabase's pop chart and TMLP made it into the 80s.
The two See You Again versions should be combined since they aren't that different from one another.
I also feel like Breakout and/or Can't Be Tamed had countdown singles on iTunes that lead up to the album's release since both of those albums were released in the era where that was the cool thing to do. For the life of me, though, I don't know which tracks that would be, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
FU should be included if Forgiveness and Love is being included. They both had random televised uses that propelled their popularity.
Do My Thang was used in the opening scenes of Trainwreck, but I'm not sure if that would be enough for it to qualify for the rankdown.
Under the Select Album Tracks section, may I ask why Drive and Breakout were the only two chosen? From what I can tell, "Stay" performed better on the charts than "Drive," and "Someone Else" performed on par with "Drive."
Otherwise, the rest of the list looks great!

Thanks for the suggestions and comments :) I knew I was missing a lot of things because I didn't really pay attention to promotion singles etc. before I really started following pop music, so I don't really know how the rollout for Meet Miley Cyrus, Breakout, and Can't Be Tamed was like. I tried looking in old Pulse threads about previous Miley album eras but from what I saw I didn't see anything about countdown songs... Maybe people just didn't talk about it but I don't really know about the countdown singles either. I put in "Drive" and "Breakout" because they were the highest-charting song on the Hot 100 from two of her biggest albums outside of what I included as singles/promo singles (I consider those to be Breakout and Bangerz). But I guess what I'll do now is cut those two plus combine the versions of "See You Again" and add "G.N.O.", "I Miss You", and "FU" since you said they were promo singles/had televised uses. That'll still keep the track count at 30 unless I decide to add more songs.

I want y'all to consider this unreleased jam! https%3A//soundcloud.com/erickcold/miley-cyrus-nightmare-erick-cold-edition I need to see this in everbody's non-RD songs lists! (Id much rather prefer it if it just randomly happened to be on the actual rankdown :kii: )

Sorry I haven't updated this in a while but I'm going to update the OP with the final list and open the rankdown for submissions once the Demi Lovato rankdown starts revealing. (I'm also going to try to make the OP look better instead of this mess of an OP I have right now) And I also need to decide on my own rankings

Damnit, saw the title and got excited about a My Chemical Romance rankdown On the top of this, shouldn't you include Come and Get It Bae under featured singles? Miley Cyrus was on part of it and it did peak at #23 on the hot 100, though it tanked soon after (since it sucks lmao). Also I fully expect Dooo It to get last place, but I think I'm the only person on earth who kind of likes that song lmao. Yeah it has some stupid moments, but I actually think it has a great hook and really does a good job encompassing the feeling of being super stoned, which pretty much all that album was trying to do I feel like.

The rankdown is open for submissions now! Thank you for waiting :) I was going to wait until the Demi Lovato rankdown started revealing, but since I'm done typing up notes for my previous rankdown and finally got around to making my list for this rankdown, I decided to open it earlier than I planned to originally.
