I think Hardwired went recurrent mid-January based on chart position and age. But if we're including non-Pop hits, I have to assume a few Country #1's have gotten purged, since I think other posters have said they've cycled them through the summit for some time now. BTW is the closest we've ever gotten before to a purged #1 on Pop though, but ultimately survived to recurrency.

According to two people familiar with the ­situation, Swift's record label made a push to get "Look" to No. 1, then backed off, which led to the chart drop. (Big Machine Records declined to ­comment on marketing or promotion.)

"Everyone was 'helping the program,' if you will, and then it just kind of burned and it was over," says one radio executive about "Look." "It never really researched like a long-standing power, like she's had in the past. It was more of a statement single."

No country #1s have. They tend to take 20-35 weeks to peak, and Mediabase removes Country songs after three consecutive weeks of losses, regardless of weeks on the chart.

I absolutely, even after the record descent and revelation of stronger album cuts, still feel this was the perfect first single. It was a polarizing earworm that got tongues wagging and coverage in a way a song like "I Did Something Bad" wouldn't have and did exactly what they needed it to. She and her team were very smart. It set the conversation for a "new Taylor/new sound" and gave her endless plays on the song's catch phrase. Look what you made her do. She knew she'd have stronger/safer cuts to appease people on the fence after this and knew exactly the type of chatter this would stir and delivered an iconic video to seal the deal. Release that and toss out "Ready For It" for even safer measure and wait to release the safer string of hits that would secure longevity. I think they knew exactly what they were doing, specifically considering Taylor is an artist who is very aware of the public's perception of her and a tendency to "play the victim" and decides to troll with a song accentuating the ultimate victim mentality.

Errrr...did you mean this the other way around? Her losses have definitely slowed down but she still has to survive SEVEN more Sundays to be eligible for recurrency. I'd still bet on a purge in a few weeks.
