Ummm....I'm not a Taylor fan, but she usually has good singles. This is the ONE TIME I actually wanted her to release something good, and I'm not feeling it at all. I hesitate to call it terrible, but it's simply not good. There's like an element or two that I enjoy, but I can't find this song growing on me. LWYMMD was released 23:45 or something. If it has enough Thursday sales & airplay over the first days, it might debut at the bottom of the Hot 100. Is that possible? Because if it is, she might tie or break the biggest jump record.

Considering that would only happen if LWYMMD fell hard on sales and if Despacito had a uptick in both sales and streaming, which I don't think is possible. Despacito it losing in airplay, sales are gonna be under fire, and it took a big hit in streaming. If Taylor can rise on airplay fast and strong enough, she can hold at #1 most likely. Unless Bodak Yellow or Wild Thoughts comes into play. |

Don't forget that airplay still counts for the chart week until Sunday, so because it's Taylor Swift, there's also a chance of it debuting low because of the airplay that she gets a lot of. |

It's...certainly a choice. I'm not a Taylor fan, but appreciate the simple brilliance of some of her songs. This is a disjointed Artpop tryhard mess. The chorus hook is okay, but it's borrowed, and it's just not even good as a diss track.
The follow-up better be a clear smash, because this is going to fly based on hype/demand, but the backlash is near.
She and her team are calculating and very smart, so I'm assuming there's a long game already planned based on this song. The video and marketing could probably contextualize it a little better and improve the song's reception.
If they have the right campaign, this could be the new SexyBack (which was INSANE when it was first released).
