Cute that people forget that she charted all of Lemonades song on the hot 100 WITHOUT Spotify or Apple music. And the people on this board that still think that the only metric that matters are the ones related to top 40 and the hot 100, really need to reevaluate their knowledge about music and the way the general public is consuming it. Yeah, and almost all of them flopped and started falling off. Only Sorry held on enough to go on the YE chart, not Formation, not Hold Up, and not Freedom. |

Beyonce can get a pop hit if she really wants to. Doubtful. Her music hasn't really resonated with anyone in quite some time. Write out this narrative that you've created so I can see where you went wrong. |

Every major artist release pretty much gets dumped on over there. Some of it can be rather funny. This feels like something new to me, though. That's probably because I didn't start following the charts until early 2014, and I have only really paid attention to social media's responses to big releases in the last year or two. But as I said above, this extends beyond music but that isn't relevant to this thread. Maybe I am just following the wrong people (even though most of the time it is just retweets anyway) |

I do think she's in trouble tho. I don't find this to be anywhere's near as good as anything, even album cuts, off 1989. I'm trying to get into it, but it's as jarring as Perfect Illusion was.

This reminds me a lot of 'Womanizer' for a few reasons. One is that it's being released on the cusp of a major controversy and comeback (although Taylor's future does not look nearly as bleak as Britney's looked at the time) and relies heavily on unproven trends (seen here as "jarring") to elevate it. Even the hooks are similar with near grating repetition. Only difference is one was far removed from the artist while this just confronts it head on. Having said that, I kind of hope Taylor goes full troll and embraces the bad girl image she's made for herself. Own your inner bitch!
Still love this, still think this could actually do something. She clearly still has the momentum other pop girls are lacking, but this will need a push.

I love the song but i don't think this is going to recover from the rolling effect. This is not the kind of song i expect good callouts for and also not the kind i can see radio supporting at all!

This song should debut at 1. Its been a long time a song did that and then underperformed. I think this will be fine. I might be more concerned about the follow ups

I fully expect it to get worse call out than CTTR - polarizing singles tend to fair poorly on COs - but that's to be expected - when a large portion of your audience has a certain bias. As I said last night, 2nd single to radio by 3rd week in October for reputation rollout. |
