It will happen, just wait. Taylor right now is the same as Gaga early 2011 and Katy late 2013...aka the biggest pop star on the planet with a massive lead single debuting. This is the ceiling point for any artist. Some call it rise and fall while other simply call it life! The first post on this page mentioned Janet Jackson, where is she today?

Both 1989 and Red were bigger than Prism so.... And that 30's argument is not relevant. I don't see Taylor slowing down anytime soon but then again, I didn't predict Katy tanking, I actually thought she would do well with this album but yeah, the songs are a let down... It will happen, just wait. Taylor right now is the same as Gaga early 2011 and Katy late 2013...aka the biggest pop star on the planet with a massive lead single debuting. This is the ceiling point for any artist. Every single artist peaks at a certain point... Even though Katy couldn't match the success of 2013 it doesn't mean she can't come back from it. To be quite honest I think 1989 is quite hard to surpass but even if this album doesn't do as well, it doesn't mean she cannot bound back. My point is, the music industry is not /that/ linear. Even though Katy is doing ok now I can see her coming back from this. Gaga simply doesn't care I think, the late BTW singles were such a fucking mess and same goes for her new album. Taylor is crazy popular, I can't see her leaving the pop scene like Gaga. Is this her best moment she'll ever get? Oh well, we'll have to wait I guess but I think she came to stay.

Katy first came into the pop world at the same time though. And technically Taylor has been making music since 2006, while Katy originally started as a Christian artist in 2001.

Oh I agree, Taylor will always be a big album seller. I should've been more clear in my original statement: I was referring more toward Pop success and continuing to churn out huge hits one after another. Even after Taylor is done being the biggest pop star in the world, she will continue to be a big album seller.

What is the other one? I feel like it may be All for You by Janet Jackson but not sure. It's all but certain they're referring to Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop The Feeling," which closed a 186-station pop panel last year. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=301025Any add achievements you read about these days are likely referring to the modern Mediabase era.

Found this MV analysis from a Lana Del Ray forum:
-Taylor raising from her grave, all rotten, long buried saying that despite people acclaiming k&k's "murder" of her she's rising back from the dead
-She fixes the scene
-Taylor decides to regain her agency and she buries herself, alone
-Taylor embracing the money hungry and snake persona people accused her of being
-1 dollar bill, representing her groping sexual assault trial
-Taylor sitting alone on a throne, snake jewelry, living snakes coming at her but can't harm her because she's controlling and one of them. She's unhinged enough to showcase them and in return they help her spill the tea.
-Her chair has "et tu, brute?" engraved, as in foreshadowing of her betraying all her friends
-She stages an accident and plays the victim in front of camera's with a fk grammy award
-Robs a streaming company
-Crucifies herself and rejects the Taylor's who try so hard to be her, because she's the one true snake
-Hates being called a bitch
-I forgot to complete the et tu brute part, Taylor is overseeing a plethora of clone women in vinyl garb symbolising how people saw her female friendships as a fake squad of supermodels/skinny it gs made for publicity. a bunch of women she controls absolutely

Video really does remind me of TFM Gaga, but a bit more succinct than that. Which, personally, I prefer. Gaga's videos often felt bloated and disorganized. The point and thought behind this are clear, if not too simple.
Man I am loving this more every day.

According to the latest Spotify data, the Swift smash has been streamed 23 million times. Download sales went from a first-day high of 189,144 to 31,514 on Saturday and 25,242 yesterday, for a three-day total of 245,900, impressive in an era of diminishing track sales. SOURCENielsen numbers. 350-375k opening week seems most realistic. Still a great number for Taylor despite Digital sales falling lower than the past. But it is double what "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" had in it's first week out.

WIll this have a big 8th day effect? It got 2858 spins on its first day. Assuming it gets around 1350 spins on its 8th day, the 8th day update would be roughly -1500, which isn't bad considering how massively it debuted. To put it in perspective, keeping the same ratio, had it debuted with 1300 spins like most big releases as of late, then its 8th day would be -680, which is just a little less (higher, since it's negative?) than typical.
