She isn't stalling out. That bullet couldn't stay massive forever. Over 1200+ new spins this time last week versus 176 now, the bullet couldn't do anything else. As for the audience, that too will regulate. This level of first week hype is quite rare, and some of the inflated hype audience will get burnt off.

I like both of these "singles" quite a bit, BUT I think going this route is potentially very damaging for her. She had carved out her own little niche in pop, but these two very modern EDM hook-oriented songs could have been done by any female singer out there recording songs by the typical hit making "factories". It doesn't sound like Taylor or like her songwriting at all.

No way. LWYMMD is the statement she wanted to make, and has cleeearly been what she's wanted to say for a long time.

This all plays into the discussion we'd been having about why first singles are chosen -- which is more relevant now that we have more context. (Didn't think we'd get it so soon!)

I personally definitely like RFI better. But all the points made still apply.

I personally like the theory that RFI was released because of football promo starting now that may have been too good to pass up, plus the other stuff about Ed Sheehan tactics.

I agree, it was just as much about the statement and video as it was the song.

I like Are You Ready, but I dont think its HUGE radio smash waiting to happen, I think it would get old quickly...I think she has bigger and better smashes waiting for us to hear. This just happens to be one of the good album tracks. All in my opinion, of course.

Im happy to see her doing well, the public could have had the opposite reaction.

I think pre-orders messed it up (since single sales don't count when someone pre-orders the album). All the predictions had it over 400-450k, so it makes sense.

Also, 84.4 million streams...so 916 SPS. Absolutely massive.

Sort of unrelated, but Ready For It replaced this at #1 on Spotify US.

A little unrelated but isn't there an option to "complete my album"? You buy the singles and then buy the album when it comes out, don't you just buy the remaining tracks? Does this count as an album sale + single sale? Is this more expensive than pre-ordering?

Let's say, you bought 3 songs at $1.50 each and the album costs $15. With Complete My Album you get the whole album at "Album Price - Cost of songs you already own"

So with that example you'd get $15 - $4.50 = $10.50

It costs the same, basically. But this way your single purchase counted for the week you bought it. But your sale will get deducted from the song's totals when you complete your album

I'm sorry if i'm not being clear enough, these rules are always a struggle to explain!
