The last few pages are hilarious. I fully expect her label to push this to #1, but even if it stalls at #3, this era is hardly off to a poor start.

The song is number one on itunes, if Niall and Liam are going to be number one on pop with songs outside top 10 of itunes, i'm pretty sure this will reach number one too

I don't know why this should be considered a flop. I don't see Cardi B in the Top 5 on Pop :sip2:

No this isn't a flop yet, but it's not looking great for the overall success of the album. Not unlike Drake's current era, I don't know how much More Life Taylor's album has in it. Drake's era isn't an era. It was a "playlist" that allowed Drake to experiment with up and coming and international artists he likes. Whether you call it an album or a playlist, it's definitely just a side project. There was no video, no promotion, and no attempt to make anything a hit. You can't compare that to an album launch that sunk the most $$$ into the lead single that I can recall all decade and clearly has a calculated marketing machine behind it.

I don't know why this should be considered a flop. I don't see Cardi B in the Top 5 on Pop :sip2: And I don't see most Pop #1's hitting the top 5 of the Hot 100 anymore. When will some of you learn that the CHR/Pop format is just a small slice of the much larger popular music pie.

I'm the last person to say that a song that's successful on Pop is already a hit But people are saying this is a flop because it's losing its bullet on POP - yet it was #1 for three weeks! I mean some pop queens can't even stay in the Top 10 for that long :sip2: Also Cardi B is not considered a flop by the same people than say Taylor flops because her song is not Top 3 on Pop - I mean ... irony anybody? (By the way I love Bodak Yellow lol)

I'll refrain from calling it a flop but considering the name attached, campaign behind it, and the fact that Pop is Taylor's core format I wouldn't exactly get super excited over its performance either. And why would Cardi be expected to outpeform Taylor on TAYLOR's format? "Bodak Yellow" is a pop success because it crossed over from another format - its own- where its performance is what anyone would dream of. There's no Pop marketing campaign behind it and Cardi has no history with the format, so any little movement it makes here is successful. You seriously can't see the difference?

Yes - I do Just got offended by the fact that somebody called this song a flop like wtf One month is already a lot compared to other songs that peak and fall very quickly I think this won't have longetivity - its performance in NZ was 1-1-4-9 and they LOOVE Taylor so

People on Pulse make cracks about songs 'flopping' all the time. There is no way you can call LWYMMD a flop.
But stalling out on your core radio format barely a month after your single drops is not a good look, 3-week record-breaking Hot 100 #1 or not.

The exaggerative, dramatic side of Pulse and its queens will never cease to entertain me. *grabs popcorn*

Sales: Look What You Made Me DoWeek 1 - 353,000 Week 2 - 114,000 Week 3 - 69,000 Week 4 - 58,000 (594k) Shape Of YouWeek 1 - 240,000 Week 2 - 120,000 Week 3 - 104,000 Week 4 - 115,000 (579k) Week 5 - 115,000 For something with "unimaginable" sales, "selling higher than every artist not named Adele", it should probably be at least above 60k on its first month... But I've learned in this thread that apparently peaks are all that matter. This basically illustrates my supposed dramatics regarding this song's chart performance. Sales are going down. Streams are going down. If it stalls out on radio now, with all three components on a downward turn the song could potentially go racing down the chart as quickly as it came up. With the album out in November, this dying weeks beforehand is not an ideal situation. The smear campaign would effectively write itself.

The playlist thing was more of an excuse then anything imo, he never really does videos for any of his stuff these days anyways 2. You guys realize 90% of the reason why I made that post is so I could make the More Life pun right?

Terrible song. Why Taylor Swift felt the need to go this direction is beyond me. But, artists do this all the time (change their bread and butter in the name of being "edgy" or "maturing"). And it doesn't have a high success rate, as history has shown us.

I love the people that are wishing and praying this will underperform. This ersatz melodrama is hilarious. How many records did this song break? Although, I can't be too surprised by the avatars from some of the detractors. I would be butthurt too if my "fav" can't get a number one hit, yet alone a top ten on pop or Billboard.

Creative types get tired of the formula after a while. It happens. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. She’s earned the right to try something new after multiple successful albums. I don’t like LWYMMD but I don’t begrudge her the chance to switch it up.

For some reason, the song and video always made me think they only really intended this song to make headlines and last until Halloween. I'm guessing there's gonna be a new song released shortly afterwards.
