If you think this is actually going to make a dent... :sip2: I feel the only ones who'll take part are Kayne stans, Katy stans and just people who hate Taylor in general. And you never know, anything is possible.

If you think this is actually going to make a dent... :sip2: I feel the only ones who'll take part are Kayne stans, Katy stans and just people who hate Taylor in general. And you never know, anything is possible. No. It won't work because it's a single song versus an entire album, and that is where the album-equivalent streams thing is going to come in. Basically, 1,500 streams = 1 album unit. Even if they managed to make 'Hey Mama' the #1 streamed song that day (for the sake of being hypothetical, let's say it tops out at like 10 million streams) that's only roughly 7000 albums. Meanwhile, even if no 'Reputation' album track gets #1 on Spotify, they will all likely get millions in Spotify streams, all of which when added up will utterly dwarf anything that one song does. This is before getting into actual album sales, where a years-old album is never going to compete with the first week sales of a brand new album, especially a highly-anticipated new release from a superstar like Taylor Swift. This is why things like download days (or streaming days as the case now seems to be) don't work - because the people behind them lack a fundamental understanding of how the charts actually work to realize how little impact they actually have.

Wait I didn't even realise how fast it's falling on Spotify Didn't this break first day streaming records??? How is it #13?? I just took a look on Kworb to check Youtube: YoutubeWeek 1 - 109,392,487 Week 2 - 154,408,669 Week 3 - 93,464,629 Week 4 - 74,594,965 Week 5 - 56,266,404 (projected) Today's update was 6,235,470 which would mean around 40 million for next week. The video might not make it to 1 billion until 2019 if it doesn't stabilise somewhere. It's still top 3, but it could fall out of the top 10 in 2 weeks if it keeps falling like this. Just look on Billboard and see what was #1 the 3 weeks before this week.Obviously the song is gonna lose streams.Remember that Ready for it is out too. You seem to chronically miss the point.

That isnt IMPACT lol That is achievement from the hype of the video and the drama. To have actual impact, the song & video needs to influence to span over time. The song/video is dropping substantially week per week per week.. In terms of streaming..failing to stabilize a certain ground. ATRL is calling you back. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? who cares

It was still a billboard #1 song for 3 weeks.

It was still a billboard #1 song for 3 weeks. That's fine, but the post you quoted was specifically talking about how quickly it has been losing streams. Yes, it's going to lose streams as you said, but it's the speed of which that is happening that is cause for discussion. For comparison, HUMBLE. also broke streaming records, but is still #14 on Spotify, or one spot below this, several months later into its run than this. Or we can look at YouTube, where this has fallen to #3 with 70 million views after a month of release. Obviously, those are fantastic standalone numbers, but let's compare that to Hello, which also opened to record breaking streaming. Hello spent 10 weeks at #1 on YouTube. Granted, Hello also fell to roughly 75 million views a month after release, but back then, 75 million views was still monstrous and double the amount of the #2. I think that's where the fundamental flaw in all of these arguments are coming from. This song has done a lot. It went to #1, broke a few records, etc. That's all great, and no one is denying those things. The discussion is over how quickly this is losing its streams and how it has brickwalled in overall airplay, causing it to lose points for the Hot 100 rather quickly. More quickly than normal, even when accounting for the fact that this didn't have the organic climb like other songs do.

I don't believe she is purposely releasing the album then but I am a Kanye stan so there you go...
Also streaming Hey Mama isn't to try and out-do Taylor or whatever and out chart her, because that would be practically impossible.

No different than what happened to Katy and other female pop stars before her. That doesn't make it okay?

'Cause the first I saw of this 'Hey Mama' Day thing, was that it was expressly intended as a means of blocking 'Reputation' from #1, which as I detailed, is never gonna happen.

I don't think the drop in Youtube views is that important, I'm more worried about the apparent polarized opinions about this in general and stalling on airplay. I mean the video has already done its job, the problem with the video was the release, why couldn't they wait a week or two with it?
EDIT: #16 on Spotify, list of songs above it include Silence, Sorry Not Sorry, Havana, ancient stuff like Congratulations...

I'm not very knowledgeable of radio updates, but this song having 700 bullet compared to maybe 1100-1200 from Feel It Still doesn't seem good This song is not doing badly, but I think it's a failure compared to the 1989 singles

Were the bullets to remain stable (which they won't, I'm just saying) then it would still take 5 weeks for FIS to close the gap, by which point Taylor would be in range of #1.

This song did its job of letting people know she’s back. Yeah, it won’t have longevity but I suppose people hearing the buzz around the song/video is enough for the label. The song is polarizing and whether or not you like it, it caught your attention enough for you to be curious about the next single, the album, etc, which I think is the label’s focus.

Portugal will catch Swift in 3 weeks, it´s a sure bet she wont get that no 1 with this song at least, her second song wont do it either as Logic´s song will last as number 1 til Christmas.

How did this end up doing in the call outs? Did they come out yet? Only HAC where it's third from the bottom. It'll likely debut on Pop callouts this Friday.

The bullet has collapsed 64% over the last three weeks and lost almost 40% since last Wednesday. Her team needs to focus on re-igniting interest and not waste time sending flowers tbh.

She's probably releasing another promo track in mid-October. It's going to be good for the extra hype for the album release. Plus, she's probably sending another single to radio a week before/after the album release.

This is the type of song I want from her. I have high expectations and was really hyped for Taylor before, but I couldn't get into this one. The fact that it samples one of the worst hit songs ever imo doesn't help. I was still rooting for it to have some longevity, but I got keep real, that ain't happening either. So I hope she just moves on from this quick and release something better for next single

Don't even compare SIO with Look. You don't have to think a lot to realise SIO is crafted to hit the radio and smash those spins, Look is a very different song.

While SIO was obviously more radio-friendly and safe, let's also not pretend this is some edgy not-made-for-radio track.

This song is crearly made to be catchy but it is very strange and different from everything on radio and it's a diss track after all. The reason this is flopping on radio is because it's too polarizing...
I'm just hoping her next single is a pop smash like Blank Space.

But you literally a few days ago were saying that Look was better than most songs that hit #1 on pop. Why can't i compare this to her previous lead single?

What I was saying and that became very explicit after that phrase, was that both songs are very different and SIO is obviously much more radio friendly. I mean, you just didn't understand it because you didn't want to ;)
