I...am...thinking about doing a rankdown based on all of the Country crossovers that have happened so far (i.e country song crossing over to other genres, not vice versa). If this were to happen, it'll most definitely be some time in 2019.

I like the sound of this one! Are you mostly referencing country songs that have crossed over to the pop chart? So many country classics crossed over such as "Islands In the Stream," "I Love A Rainy Night," "Always On My Mind" and even "Crazy" was a top 10 pop hit! More recent songs that come to mind are "You're Still the One," "Breathe," and "Love Story."

I planned on 2008 eventually (2003 is next for me though). 2009 is all yours however. :)

I'm thinking of doing my first rankdown and wondered if anyone would be interested in a Randy Travis rankdown? I could start it whenever, next month or further down the road (not sure how scheduling works with these things). Wiki lists 57 singles, but I think a few of those never received radio pushes, so I can probably trim it down to around 50 if needbe.

Just be aware that with an artist like Randy Travis, you are likely to have a really slow submission process. He's just old enough to where a lot of Pulse doesn't know more than a handful of his songs, so it will be a lot of discoveries for people, and it might seem like people aren't interested just because fewer people will submit early. But he is awesome, and I definitely need to check out his work, so I would be totally here for a Randy Travis rankdown!

And we have successfully had rankdowns for Alabama and Patty Loveless, who are in a similar boat, so I think you could easily get 10-15 participants still, even if they roll in really slowly. Just don't be discouraged if it's slow!

As far as scheduling is concerned, feel free to open it whenever you want! Just look at the queue at the start of this thread and try to make it due at a logical time, i.e. plenty of time to get it done, and not on the same day as another large rankdown, etc.

kw9461 I’m totally in for a Randy Travis rankdown (I’m familiar with his entire discography except for a couple of the gospel recordings)! I was actually tinkering with the thought of doing a rankdown for him myself but happy to see anyone take the lead on doing it. I also agree with bboat11 there will be a slow submission process for him but I think in the end you should still be able to get a decent turnout.

Ok thanks for the tips. I have a rare completely free day tomorrow (off of work plus gf is out of town) so I may go ahead and launch it, but i'll leave the submission window plenty wide.

hell yeah with the Randy Rank down. i know his entire discography. due to my mom being like his biggest fan ever. he's pretty much all i heard growing up. and im not complaining hes fantastic. and i already have my #1 ready.

I’d be all in for participating in one for Garth, but I agree being able to find audio tracks would end up being a headache. I still think a rankdown would be doable regardless though.

I know I've been teasing '94 Country for too long, but hang with me! I think I've made a songlist I'm fairly comfortable with (it's pretty big though!) and all I need to do is continue working on my rankings, which has been a long time coming. (this'll be a brutal year to go through )

Hopefully, I'll have it open some time after Halloween.

I’m still thinking of doing a country Christmas rankdown and am currently putting together a playlist that will consist of 25 songs. If I do decide to go ahead with it I’ll probably put it up November 1st. I’m wanting to include some more recent Christmas music so any suggestions would be welcomed (and don’t worry bboat11 I won’t forget about Martina’s new album).

Yes he did but this will be a smaller rankdown (only 25 songs) and a different selection of songs.

Been looking at some Rankdowns that went down before I jumped on the Pulse train and I just have to say that I am personally offended that y'all ranked Garth's "You Move Me" last in the 1998 rankdown. I love you all, but the hatred for Garth on here is unreal sometimes.

While I love Garth I think "You Move Me" is easily one of my least favorite songs he has ever done. Could never get into it.

Have already talked to a few people about redoing the 1997 rankdown next summer so look forward to that!

^Why would we re-do rankdowns? There's so many that still need to be done to even think about re-doing any of them imo.

Cause it was my first rankdown I hosted and I've had quite a few people ask me to redo it. There are a lot more people doing rankdowns now then there were when I did it originally.
