so I wanted to post an outline of what I plan to do roughly for the next few rankdowns:

For NOV:
Jo Dee Messina - Me Album Rankdown will be presented this week
Journey 2001 is due next Friday and will be presented next week

For DEC:
Jo Dee Messina - A Joyful Noise Album Rankdown will be due: Dec 14th
Patty Loveless - Bluegrass & White Snow: A Mountain Christmas will be due: Dec 21st
Next Journey Year due: Dec 28th

For JAN:
Jo Dee Messina - Extras Rankdown will be due Jan 11th
Lee Ann Womack Singles Rankdown will be due Jan 18th
Another Journey Year Due Jan 25th

For Feb:
Jo Dee Messina Album Tracks Rankdown will be due Feb 8th
Another Journey Year due Feb 22

Therefore the plan is to finish up the Jo Dee Messina Album Rankdown Series in Feb with the Album Tracks Rankdown. I will probably not have any rankdowns due in March and in April will begin the Patty Loveless Rankdown series (was considering doing it earlier but already have way too many.

Other rankdowns I still plan to do down the road:
1999 to 2002 Country Rankdowns
Patty Loveless Album Series Rankdown
Lee Ann Womack Album Series Rankdown
The Wilkinsons Singles
Suzy Bogguss Singles
Gretchen Peters Songwriter Rankdown

Things will probably change but if anyone wants to get their ranks in for the Jo Dee Christmas album or Patty Loveless Christmas album you can do so anytime, I will officially open them both in the coming week!

Uh oh, sabre14, I had forgotten that castleoblivion26 already claimed 1999-2002 country rankdowns... Castle, it looks like sabre was hoping to potentially do 2002 next after 2003 finishes. He started a poll, and that seems to be the one that is winning. I'll let you guys discuss and come up with something that will work for both of you.

sabre14 if you are still looking for year-end rankdowns to host after 2008 and possibly 2002, I will gladly let you have 2010. You are a great host, so I have no problems handing it over to you if you want it! Since year-end rankdowns seem to be your main priority, whereas everybody else has a lot of irons in the fire. And maybe even 2011 after that, although that is still so far in the future that we might just need to bring it up again later :) I could probably get through both 2012 and 2011 by the time you get through those ones :) Lol

Either way, we're starting to get to the point where all the year-end rankdowns people care about have been claimed. Now we'll just have to be flexible and work together to make sure they happen without stepping on anybody's toes.

December:

-George Strait: Right Or Wrong/Here For A Good Time albums

January:
-George Strait: Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind/Twang albums
-2018 Country Rankdown

February:
-Martina McBride extras rankdown
-George Strait: Something Special/Troubadour albums
-New album series: TBD!!!!!!!

March:
-Martina McBride album tracks rankdown
-George Strait: #7/It Just Comes Natural albums
-New album series: part 2!!!!!


I'll stop there, because any further and it's too hard to guarantee for sure what will be happening. I'll plan to finish all of Martina's main albums in December, and then take a small break so that I can focus on 2018 Country in the new year. It's hard to say exactly how George's albums will fit in. Ultimately I want to get through them quicker than just one round of submissions per month, but we'll see. I'm thinking something like a new set every three weeks would be appropriate (2 weeks for submissions, 1 week for reveals), since most of his albums are pretty short.

I will also be starting a new album series once Martina's is done, and I am SO excited for it!!!! I will throw 2012 at ya sometime this spring, maybe around April. And who knows, it might even be time for Best of the Best Part II around that same time as well, since the increase in album rankdowns has meant we are accumulating new rankdown winners a lot quicker than the first time around... We're already halfway to our next set of 50 winners!

So I talked with castleoblivion26 and he has graciously given me the opportunity to do the 2002 rankdown. He will still do 1999-2001.

Since zaclord 🌈 has started the 2009 thread with a deadline before Christmas, I’ll probably start the thread mid-December with a deadline of sometime in February.

2008 will wait until sometime in the spring/summer of 2019.

I'm taking a break from Rankdowns after this weekend. I'm gonna spend some time getting a couple rankdowns done that are due in January but if you don't get a list from me today I won't be doing it unless it is pushed back to the end of January at the earliest. Starting to not enjoy doing these.

I may actually have that one already done so that shouldn't be an issue, I just haven't sent it in yet because you hadn't opened it yet.

The only one I haven't done yet that falls within my hiatus is the 2018 Country and I am gonna check how many songs there are that I do not know and if it isn't too many I may still try and get that one done too. Outside of those two if I haven't submitted and it is due in January I will not be submitting for it. (I do think I got all the Country ones though, sent Lady Antebellum and the two George Strait albums yesterday!)

Funny you bring this up because I too am thinking of taking a break from rankdowns for the month of January. I've been trying to knock out as many as I can before then (don't worry bboat11 I did Martina's Everlasting a while ago and it's saved for whenever you open it up!). I really do enjoy rankdowns because I get to listen to a lot of music that I wouldn't otherwise, but I think taking a month off from doing them would allow me to refresh and then I can also listen to music for a while without having to think about where I'm going to rank this or that song.

Yeah I'll probably include all songs released thus far, I cannot imagine there are too many outside of the two albums and I'd rather include everything.

While I am on a Rankdown hiatus I may open the ones I plan to have due in Feb and Mar soon in order to have them open for submissions now. I have too many open right now and just added Brothers Osborne and want to get some of the ones I've had planned for a while to happen. With that thinking in mind I am planning on the following for Feb and Mar:


FEBRUARY:

With the Jo Dee album series ending in March I wanted to start the Patty and Lee Ann album series shortly after but I may wait until May to start either of those as I'd like to do 1999 Country for April and The Wilkinsons and Suzy Bogguss Rankdowns then as well.

I keep this thread very updated as well (often times the exact moment anything new changes with one of the country rankdowns... Lol), so if you were to just double check every once in awhile to make sure somebody didn't miss tagging you, it might not be a bad idea :)

Oh well, lots of time to familiarize myself with them! I'll probably start listening to Lee Ann's albums ahead of time too, so that I am ready by the time the series starts. I already have my list ready for Jo Dee's album tracks Since I've been listening to her albums basically non-stop for the second half of this year, I feel like I've spent more time preparing for that one than I ever have before. And I'll probably do Lee Ann Womack in the next couple days, since that's one of the "smaller" rankdowns I have yet to do.

Am I crazy, or did you also express interest in hosting a Pam Tillis rankdown once upon a time?

yeah I might just start Patty sooner than May, I don't want to wait that long but my original plan was to double up on a couple of the earlier albums like you are doing with George but I may not do that at all. I'm gonna figure this out today and will most likely open the rankdowns due in February. Maybe Patty can be due in February and I'll start that one immediately because I'm super excited to get into those!

I did express interest in a Pam Tillis Rankdown but never officially said I'd do it. I do want to do it though and do think more than enough time has gone by that Pam Tillis has to happen so I will slot that one in as well (Too much music that we need to rank and not enough time lol)

Since the Classics Journey RD will be a bigger one than normal I won't be doing a second one until April (that one will be a year, will wait to do 76 to 88 later on). This means Patty Loveless album series is starting now. For April I'm thinking of doing 1999 Country, The Wilkinsons, and Pam Tillis. The list of Rankdowns below I plan on completing before I even consider anything else. Though I kinda want to add Brett Young's newest album as well and Kip Moore's latest album and EP but those are a ways off so if anyone else wants to do them instead go ahead.
