I was thinking of an idea for the future but I would need interest, obviously. We've done rankdowns for 2004-2006...but the songs were usually anything top 30-35 those years. How about a rankdown of let's say 2-3 years and we rank 50-75 of the deep-cut, lower charting singles only? To highlight some great gems and have new people here discover them. Oop, is this Miss Sara's chance to win a rankdown with "Tonight"?! I'd be here for that! This is going to be the next rankdown I'm hosting. 2012 will be saved until later this year or early next year. I'm taking the lower-charting singles that missed out being included in the 2004-2005-2006 rankdowns and doing a 100-110 song rankdown of those songs. Right now the highest charting song on Mediabase that would be included is one that peaked at #26 ("Bring Me Down" by Miranda Lambert), to give everyone an idea. This is a nice change up from the usual year-end or artist rankdowns and even though it will take more listening time, this will be a lot of fun. Wait was "Bring Me Down" seriously left out of a year-end rankdown??! Who's responsible for that sacrilege?!

I wanted to ask everyone a question. There are many one off album rankdowns I plan to do and I'm thinking of just opening one thread for them all. Would everyone be okay with this? It would include the latest albums from Carly Pearce, Brett Young, and Kip Moore as well allow me to do albums like Kellie Coffey's When You Lie Next To Me album and maybe some other artist who only have 1 or 2 albums out. I'd probably include Ashley McBryde in with this thread.
would this be a yay or nay for everyone?

I say yay as it doesn't clog up the Games board for the rest of people who wouldn't be interested and are trying to look for other games. Also YES TO KELLIE COFFEY!!! I would LOVE an excuse to listen to that marvelous album! Also if you decide to do both of Ashley's albums that would give me a reason to finally visit her debut for the first time. (YES i know what am i doing?! lol) I have heard only 2 songs from that album and they're the biggest ones from it so I definitely need to give that album a spin. While I'm here (and we're on the subject of plans) I have an update on my current rankdown calendar that I need to make as there are a couple I'm doing that I've let completely slip me by without reminders (and I even to make a ranking list for one of them myself still). I'll make a separate post for that here in a few so apologies in advance for the double post.

Ok so since finals really killed me and I've been trying to recover, I've really let myself go when it comes to reminders for rankdowns. Apologies for that. Jake Owen was supposed to be due this Saturday, but I never did any reminders and I don't think I'm ready for continuing on as planned with any rankdowns just yet. I'll still be hosting them, just not at the moment. Same for Female "Flops" of 2019 Radio that I took over from g8erboi. I haven't even listened to those songs to rank them yet and I have like 3 or 4 lists and it was supposed to be due on May 15. So that said, I'll be pushing those both back. Jake Owen will be pushed to May 29 and the Female "Flops" will be pushed clear out to June 19. I'll be making posts in the respective threads for those to update the due dates. So after those extensions, my rankdown calendar will look like this: Jake Owen - Greetings From...Jake (Due Friday, May 29) Adele - 19 (Due Friday, June 5 -- may or may not need to also be extended but I do have a few lists for that one; y'all fellow country folk are welcome to send for it if you'd like) Shania Twain - self-titled debut (Due Friday, June 12 -- currently no plans to extend as I already have a good head start of about 6 or 7 lists) Female "Flops" of 2019 Country Radio (Due Friday, June 19)
After that, in July, I'll likely have room to open the Jon Pardi Album Series thread. I'm thinking of making all three albums due at one time, with due dates a week or so apart, similar to how castleoblivion26 did the Brothers Osbourne rankdowns. That'd be the only difference tho tbh. Following that would likely be the Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker rankdowns. Those two are completely TBA in terms of due dates at the moment--most likely August for Luke and September for Darius.
I also do want to go ahead and host the Luke Combs Extras as part of his album series. It's a very short rankdown (just his first two EPs which only have a total of 5 songs plus "Brand New Man," "Six Feet Apart" and a song he did for the Angry Birds movie for a total of 8 songs) so if anyone's interested in that let me know. If I were to go ahead with it, I'd make it due on Friday, June 26 and be able to knock it out pretty easily at the end of June so let me know if you're interested in that.
Also castleoblivion26 I don't believe I've sent for the current Pam Tillis round of albums (again, finals really took a lot out of me, I was lucky to finish the round of Trisha albums that were due). It says they were due on May 1, but if it's possible could I have this weekend? I'd be able to knock both of them out and get lists for those into you. The next two George albums are due that weekend as well so I'd be doing those four albums over the weekend.

taylor is terrified I can wait for your list but if it is possible to get it to me sometime on Saturday so I can begin reveals on Saturday night I'd appreciate it as I'd like to get both albums revealed before next Friday when Joe Diffie is due. Also I'll definitely participate in the Luke Combs Extras rankdown, it would be interesting to see how that one will go.

Would there be any interest in a series of Brandi Carlile album rankdowns? I'd love to host them at some point, but don't know if many people would participate outside of By The Way, I Forgive You.

castleoblivion26 I would personally prefer each artist just gets their own thread. It makes sense to have multiple rankdowns in a thread when it is a thematic decision (like an album series for a specific artist, or like the monthly new releases rankdowns), but if the only theme is "Here's a bunch of random albums from relatively unknown people who might have anywhere from 1 to 3 albums each", I think that just sounds unnecessarily messy lol.

I'd certainly be interested as I've always wanted to dive into her other albums. I'm also hoping this would mean that one for The Highwomen is in the cards as well!

I could have a central thread to keep track of which albums I want to do and then give each one its own thread I guess. I just wanted to condense it to one thread to make it easier to keep track of. Here is an idea of the artist that I want to include: Ashley McBryde Rebecca Lynn Howard Kellie Coffey Jessica Andrews Lila McCann Alecia Elliott Amy Dalley Autumn Hill Carly Pearce Kip Moore Brett Young Blaine Larsen Clay Davidson David Kersh Dylan Schneider Frankie Ballard Hunter Hayes Jamie O'Neal The Kinleys Maggie Rose Parker McCollum The Warren Brothers before any one freaks out about the number of artist I'm not claiming any of them, this is just an idea of artist I'd like to see get done someday. I'm definitely planning on doing Ashley McBryde, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Kellie Coffey, Carly Pearce, Kip Moore, and Brett Young. The others are just part of the idea. Maybe I can do one album a month going forward or something.

Ok so behind the scenes I've been discussing this with bboat11 ...I think it's come time for the Carrie Underwood singles rankdown to be re-done. This RD was like the 3rd country RD ever, and not only has an entire new album come and just about gone by now, but many new posters have since joined this place. With the Cry Pretty era almost gone (I doubt UMG is dropping a fifth single and "Drinking Alone" will likely be peaking in the next month), opinions may have also changed on certain songs. Maybe y'all now find something off about a song, or find it too overplayed now. With that said, I'm going to go ahead and put the Carrie Underwood Singles Redo into the queue. This will likely be opened in June and should be easy to redo since we're familiar with every song by now. Any extra songs that were part of the first singles rankdown (example: "There's a Place For Us") will be excluded and put into their own Carrie Underwood Extras Rankdown. Every album series (or most of them) usually end with an Extras rankdown, before we move on to album tracks. That said, since Carrie never received an Extras rankdown, I'm also going to throw that into the ring, with an opening date likely in July. Following that, Carrie Underwood will FINALLY receive her Album Tracks Rankdown. I won't be hosting that, as bboat11 mentioned a while back he'll be doing it, but I'm very excited for it to finally happen! I do find it's practical to do the redo while CU7 is likely on hold thanks to this lockdown for who knows how long, rather than waiting who knows how long for CU7's era to come and run its course.
On another note, I will be opening the Luke Combs Extras Rankdown tomorrow or Monday. These will likely be due on June 26 as it's such a short list of songs. <3

Hey guys! So, I'm not familiar with the rules, but I wanted to do a 2010s Country Girls rankdown (singles from female country artists that debuted on the last decade - Kacey, Maren, Kelsea, Lauren Alaina, and more... you know them!)
So I have a couple questions, if y'all could help me out...
1) Has anyone ever done a similar rankdown? 2) Do you think it's a great idea? 3) Do I need a permission or something or can I just go to the Games board and create the rankdown?
Thanks!!

Thanks!! There have been a couple similar ideas, but nothing exactly like it. Like right now there is an open rankdown for some of the female songs that flopped on country radio in 2019. Also I know g8erboi hosted a rankdown of his favorite songs from the 2010s, but it wasn't just females, and it wasn't just artists that debuted in the 2010s. So yes, this is a good idea that people would probably participate in! I know I would! Do you plan to just like pick your favorite single from these artists, or use their debut song, or what? You don't need permission, but you should be mindful of existing deadlines so that you don't step on anyone's toes or overload the participants. So check the first post in this thread to see when all the other current country rankdowns are due, and then try to pick a date that isn't overcrowded yet :) If you have any other questions, feel free to let me know!

Thank you so much! Yeah, I think it's different than the ones you mentioned. I wasn't planning to have just one song from each artist, it would be from 1 to 5 singles depending on the artist. My main criteria was songs that charted higher on the Country Airplay. There are 60 songs total. Okay, I'll take a look at the dates and pick a deadline that isn't chosen yet. Thanks again, you were very helpful :)

So, isn't this more or less the same exact thing I've been doing?

I want to thank everyone who participated and followed along going back to when I first kicked this off way back in June! I had so much fun doing this and it really has become a labor of love I also want to send out a special thanks to both Kanenrá:ke and bboat11 who provided me additional insight into the song selections and helped to ensure that I didn't leave out anyone! I'm already in the beginning stages of the next series so you can expect to see a rankdown sometime next year for the 2010s Women of Country! Thanks again everyone

I'll even go a step further and let y'all know the tentative title for the next series: Redesigning Country Women of the 2010s: Keepers of the Flame Oh lord, how could I have forgotten! Sorry tim ! Although it is my interpretation that lipe 's rankdown would focus solely on the ladies who debuted in the 2010s, whereas Tim's is going to include all the ladies who were active in the 2010s, regardless of when they debuted (so like Carrie/Miranda/Martina/Reba's etc. 2010s contributions will not be in lipe 's rankdown). So there is definitely a difference between the two ideas. However, lipe you should wait and see what tim 's rankdown looks like first, and decide afterwards whether yours would be different enough to still be necessary or not. He has been doing a series on country women from each decade, so he definitely has first dibs on an idea like this. Sorry I forgot about it this morning.

I'm not familiar with this part of Pulse yet so while I did search for 2010s Country Girls and found your 2000s one, I had no idea it was a part of a sequence that you've been doing. Although my idea was a little different (my list had 60 songs by 24 women, not 1 for each, and they're all for 2010's newcomers), they're indeed very similar so I won't be doing it anymore! If you want to check out the artists that I had in mind to see if you're missing any for your list, I can pm you!

Hi everyone. Over the last several weeks, I've noticed that one of my older dogs (Hunter, a beagle who'll be twelve years old this August) has been in quite a lot of pain, including but not limited to an enlarged prostate, which led to a loss of appetite among several other things. Recently, he's been walking incredibly slow, but with some of his appetite back. Unfortunately, through a phone call from less than two hours ago from a vet we've seen for years, there's a high probability that Hunter has a type of neuropathy affecting his spinal cord and hind legs as they tend to shake a little when he walks. Caring for him has been a bigger task than usual these days, but we're all making the most of it.
On top of what's been going on the last few weeks, I'm going to do something quite unprecedented: put an open deadline for any current and near-future rankdowns I'm hosting. This means that I have no plans on closing submissions any time soon for the Tanya Tucker and 1991 Country rankdowns, but you are still free to participate and I'll gladly accept your list. In the meantime, I hope to resume the Lady A album series within the next few days and I somehow feel inspired to launch another album series maybe within the next month or so?
