I'll be launching another rankdown on November 6 and it sure is gonna be a delight... A Dixieland delight?!

While there are definitely songs of theirs I hate there are some I love a lot. It will probably be harder for me to rank than I think it will be.

So if it's Alabama you should slip me an advance warning lol I'll be quiet I'd just like the extra time to start listening to their singles I'm not familiar with so I can be as fair as possible.
The Kenny Chesney one is happening too right? I'll try to submit for that even though he's hands down my least favorite country artist (big name anyway).

Just made several updates to the queue! I added KanenrΓ‘:ke for a Terri Clark rankdown, BackwoodsBarbie for a Dolly Parton rankdown, and LBTrocks for a Little Big Town album series

At some point in the next month I think I am going to open up my first Personal Rankdown thread. It will be my Favorite Female Country Singers and will probably be around 30-40 songs.
Once I finish 1998 Country, Country Christmas and after the holidays are over I will then figure out what order to do the others. I think the Brett Young album one could come sooner since it is a smaller rankdown but I will not be doing any others outside of those two until after January I think.

I guess I'll give you guys a glimpse into my upcoming rankdown schedule too! -Martina: Wild Angels (Due Nov. 17) -George Strait (Due Dec. 1) -2017 Country (Due early Jan.) -Reba McEntire (Due early Feb. or March) -2013 Country (Sometime in the spring, depending on other year-end rankdowns) Most of that is old news, but take note of the fact that REBA IS COMING!!!!! I am way too excited for that rankdown, so I don't want to sit on it much longer! Basically my big rankdowns that are planned will be George Strait in December, 2017 Country in January, and then Reba in February. But I am also being mindful of the fact that George and 2017 are both HUGE rankdowns, and Reba will be as well, and I definitely do not want hosting fatigue to ruin the Reba rankdown, so she may end up waiting until March. Also Martina albums will keep being used to fill in the gaps. There may be time for one in December, but I'll have to decide if there will be enough of a gap between George and 2017 for me to do so. If we don't have time in December, then after Wild Angels finishes we may have to wait a few months for the next Martina album. Once Reba is done, I think I will try .indulgecountry 's strategy of just being spontaneous for awhile I will continue doing the '10s year-end rankdowns when it is my turn, but otherwise I'm going to leave myself open to wherever inspiration takes me! (Maybe a personal rankdown? Spontaneous artist ones? Of course finishing Martina's albums is a priority. But I would like to try to increase the pace with album rankdowns. Also, I would highly consider hosting album series for Reba and George as well once their big rankdowns are done! I just need to figure out a realistic way to approach that idea).

Reba (the TV show) was cute; I loved it so much. I also binged on her music earlier this year so I may already know a good boatload of singles from her for this rankdown. Chances are I'd wanna put my top 15 as my #1.
On another note, when will I ever get to start a year-end rankdown? I'm okay with waiting until after the New Year, and waiting in general, but I'm wondering if it'll probably be next spring or summer; I'm thinking about doing '92-'94 in one fell swoop (i.e. once '92 is almost done with results, open '93 and once '93 is almost done with results, open '94) some time next year, but when? March? April? May?

Things have been moving slowly lately with year-end country rankdowns, but honestly the pace is about to pick up substantially, so I don't think you will have to wait too long at all! 1998 is presenting now, and then 2017 and 2006 will pretty much be happening at the same time throughout December/January. Which means that by February it should be time to start another '90s rankdown already. Hell, you could probably even open it in early January once submissions for 2006 and 2017 close, because then those ones will enter the presentation phase and there will be no year-end rankdowns open. As far as doing '92-'94 in one fell swoop, I honestly don't have a problem with it. You might want to hash that out with castleoblivion26 and tim though, since they have '90s rankdowns on the queue as well. Also remember that it can be difficult to drum up interest in the '90s rankdowns, so you might run into hosting fatigue if you try to do 3 of them concurrently. But if you're up for the challenge, go for it! We might run into a scenario where multiple year-end rankdowns are open at the same time (for example, I want to do 2013 sometime this spring as well), but as long as the deadlines are spaced out I don't think that will be a problem.

February sounds good to me. I don't even have my songlists and rankings ready for those years yet (maybe I should ask for some time off to do this?). There are just some fantastic songs that could easily fall into my all-time favorites category from each of those years, but I'll withhold that information...for now. I guess I'm just anxious about doing year-end rankdowns. Although I suggested I do '92-'94 in one fell swoop, I can hold off on '94 for a while.
EDIT: I've announced in the Kenny Chesney rankdown that I'll start reveals on Friday; I'll be trying something different this time (using Google sheets instead of Excel).

While getting charts and graphics ready for the Kenny reveals, I've opened up my next rankdown, which you should have plenty of time to do.

I was gonna bring up the idea of a Clint Black rankdown, but I'll probably just keep it to myself since y'all did him dirty in the '98 rankdown.

I'll be honest when I was a kid first getting into Country in 1997 + 1998 I really did not care for Clint Black all that much so nostalgia doesn't help him when it comes to the rankdowns but I have grown to really like some of his music as I've gotten older and miss him on the radio. Would absolutely take part in a Clint Black rankdown. Add to that, any rankdown that is based on the 90's or an artist from the 90's in Country music you can count me in for! (this includes Trisha Yearwood). Was thinking that a Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks rankdowns being done back to back like the Tim and Faith ones would be cool but Garth might be a bit of a nightmare to deal with

But that wouldn't be the case for very many of us, so it would definitely be a nightmare... Although his big hits are pretty much universally recognizable in the country world, so it might be possible that we could do a rankdown based on all of his top 10s or something rather than all of his singles. It wouldn't be easy for people who are unfamiliar with him to join, so it would still be a small participant set, but it would be really easy for country fans to join since they would already likely know all of the songs.

Should a Trisha Yearwood appear soon? Are you wanting to try your hand at hosting? I can add this to the queue if you'd like! I was initially thinking that I would, but the more I think about it, the more I realize that I barely have enough time to keep up with the ones I'm (trying to) participate in, let alone host one right now. Working full time and starting to take courses again is taking up all my time at the moment. I could try at some point later on next year when things settle down (and the idea of a Trisha/Garth back to back series sounds great to me, and tbh is something I was thinking of too), but if someone else would like to do it in the meantime, please go ahead.

so now that 1998 Country Songs is done, I am gonna focus on the Country Christmas Rankdown for the next month!
However this week I am going to open the thread for my next rankdown which will be a personal rankdown for me. 40 Songs from Female Country singers that I really like a lot. I had a list together but I may make some changes to it between now and reveals but it will feature a lot that people may not know so I hope everyone will join in for it!

Since Sugarland is coming back, maybe it's time for someone to do a Sugarland rankdown? It'll be real short, though.
