UPDATE. I decided to put all the Rankdown participants stuff on the spreadsheet link and changed the last page post to showing the spreadsheet instead of everyones ranks there. Would be easier. Added Ed Sheeran, 2011 Alt, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, and Janet Jackson. I have not added Mariah Carey yet since I do not know if I should do it as 3 seperate Rankdowns or just 1 Rankdown combined, so if people only participated in 1 of them, they get 1, or if they participated in all 3 they get 3, or just give 1 point only regardless if you submitted in all 3.Ill link the spreadsheet here as well. Sheet 1 is the users name I am known by along with the tag. Sheet 2 is all the Rankdowns that you have been counted for so far. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1m_htpzHP2zLn5mUQEbXFT5_u_zDQUHMkcEZM6q1HBbg/edit#gid=0Anything else you guys want to see that I do not have on it?

YotamTS I opened submissions for the Miley Cyrus rankdown, so the next time you have time to update the list I would appreciate it if you could edit out the "not open" part!

I have a pop chart date in mind for that rankdown but it's a surprise. Also my personal rankdown is on the queue already.

After my Urban 2000s Rankdown, if theres popular demand I could do another 50 urban songs Rankdown of 00s, since I like a lot. And then I will do 50 R&B/Slow Pop songs Rankdown from 00s. So lots of personal Rankdowns coming up.

YotamTS the queue needs to be updated. Also, I plan on opening the 2013 Urban RD a week or so from now, so I can be finished with it and my personal one asap.

I would like to host an Usher rankdown in the near future. That would be pretty sick! As long as you include features so I can ensure Body Language does somethingThat would be too many songs then, almost 70. People will lose interest in doing it then, lol. There will probably be a Kid Ink rankdown, which will include that song.

Kind of let the cat out of the bag for this one, but I plan on doing more of the Journey Through Time rankdowns. Actually, I have enough songs to do two more, at the very least.
But the next rankdown I'm going to do is the Muse rankdown. Yep, we're doing this. :kii:

Okay, can I be a noob for a second? How do you know when it's your turn? As far as I can tell, only 25 rankdowns can happen at once, but the new ones don't seem to follow a pattern. Is it the top ones? Only one per person? I am confused as usual lol.

Is it the top ones? Only one per person? I am confused as usual lol. The general rule of thumb for right now is to just be smart about when you start your rankdowns and make them due. Like, if you have one you are wanting to start, make sure you give people plenty of time to do it, and then make it due during a week when there are not already a bunch of rankdowns due. Preferably you will get it added to the queue before you start it, but there are some people who do not and that usually works out fine too, as long as you don't start a rankdown that somebody else has already laid claim to in the queue. So basically, there is no pattern or rule. You just need to be smart about the timing and size of your rankdown so as to maximize the amount of people who might be willing to participate in it!

Me & Yotam have talked about having some rules but I never find the right time to post since there are always many Rankdowns happening.
How would you feel about having 4-5 Rankdowns max per week (without having 2 due on the same day)?

Me & Yotam have talked about having some rules but I never find the right time to post since there are always many Rankdowns happening. How would you feel about having 4-5 Rankdowns max per week (without having 2 due on the same day)? In general I feel like it is a good idea, but the problem is that there are just so many variables. For example, if we set a limit of 5 rankdowns allowed to be due per week, there might be a week where there are 5 100-song rankdowns due, and still nobody will be able to get them all done. So then do we make the rules more specific so that only 1 large rankdown can be due per week and 4 smaller ones? It might take some getting used to, but I could see that working if there is somebody organized who can police it. Then we have the problem of different genres. For example, a lot of the country rankdowns have a very specific participant base. They usually have very few participants who are primarily fans of other genres (although there are sometimes a couple), plus a lot of the country fans have little interest in checking out other genres. So if there are only 5 slots available in a week, is it fair for a country rankdown to take up one of those spots if the vast majority of pop/rap/hip-hop/rock fans are going to have very little interest in checking it out? And on the other side of the coin, if there are already several weeks in a row that are full of pop rankdowns, is it fair for a country rankdown to have to wait just because there are so many pop rankdowns happening that the majority of the country fans are not interested in checking out anyway? Like I said before, I do think it can work if there is somebody who is super organized and willing to police all this. But in general I think it is a better idea to have rules for each genre. For example, we could say that country is only allowed to have 1 large rankdown and 4 smaller ones open at any given time, pop is only allowed 2 large rankdowns and 8 smaller ones at a time, etc. Maybe there could only be 5 personal rankdowns going at a time. Then we could have somebody within each of those genres who is kind of "in charge". I will say that Country is already plenty organized, because the participants always discuss when they want to start threads and plan around each other. Rock also feels organized, because Daryl is pretty much responsible for all of it. And R&B/Hip-Hop feels pretty regulated, because there are generally less of them happening at any given time. It is with Pop rankdowns and ESPECIALLY personal rankdowns where we are in the most desperate need for regulation. TL;DR, I think that if somebody were to be willing to step forward and be kind of "in charge" of organizing the schedule for pop rankdowns and personal rankdowns, there would no longer be an issue with rankdown clog Like, I feel like the country rankdown hosts always know when it is their "turn" to start a new rankdown, because the Official Country Rankdown Thread fosters discussion between people so that we all know what everyone else has in mind and decide how to work around each other. Which is pretty much what this queue thread is for, but the problem is that there is nobody who is really "in charge". You know, somebody to say, "No, you shouldn't start your personal rankdown because there are 13 of them going right now...", or "You bonehead, why would you even consider opening another 100-song year-end list when there are already 2 of them open?"

On the positive side, there are a LOT of rankdown hosts who finish their first rankdown and say, "Too much work! Never again! My leg!", and still others are getting tired of participating in all of them. So I think it is just a matter of time before the amount that are being started starts to naturally slow down, because only the people who enjoy hosting will keep doing so.

For me it depends on the Rankdown. I did a huge rankdown that had 55 participants and I like hosting so Im doing smaller Rankdowns that probably will not get too many participants to be easier. I will do every Year End Rankdown and Flashback Rankdown easily, and some Artist and Personal ones, depending on songs and such.

We also had an idea for different genres but idk if that would work. I agree though, things are slowing down. September already seems to have just the right amount of Rankdowns.

We need more "Twist" games IMO. And more off topic games like FF, Pointless, The List, etc. Or even some games not music related at all. Heck I wont even mind if a DZ type of game comes back or something. I may make a different kind of music game later on and see how it could go, Idk.

Okay, so at the moment you are allowed to begin a rankdown as long as 1) It's your only one 2) You avoid using the same due date as another similar rankdown 3) Give appropriate amount of time for the type of rankdown
Is there anything I'm missing? Because if not, I might start my rankdown lol
