I hate how charts works these days. "Rake It Up" is about #30 on Digital songs and #40 and something on Radio.. It's #5 on streaming which accounts for half of the Hot 100's points. I know. Unfortunately. That's why i said "I hate". And i know that streaming is very important, but 50% of points is very big %

Sorry Not Sorry I wonder if Strip That Down will be the third song to peak at #11 this year (I think it would be the third? Say You Won't Let Go and Issues) Aminé's "Caroline" peaked at number 11 in January (like the first or second week of the calendar year).

42. Versace On The Floor 9. Shape Of You (Record breaking bop, beginning of the legendary week) What is keeping this song so high? I know its airplay is still in the bottom half of the top 10, but aren't sales and streaming out of the top 30 now?

The often quoted "Starships" or "Love Yourself" record - most weeks after a debut, which was demolished by 'Closer' -- is now the same as the overall at 33.
'How Do I Live' still holds the longevity record at 32 for songs that DID NOT debut in the top 10.

Lol SOY debuted at #1 ans stayed in the Top 10 for 33 weeks and will most likely have more longetivity to come I don't think Despacito will overtake it overall because it will fall faster

Actually it was Starships/Sugar/What Do You Mean/Sorry record that became Love Yourself record before Closer took it.

LWYMMD officially defeated Hello. People are saying the song won't have any longevity because all the criticism it has received, but radio and the video will certainly keep it up. I see it sticking around for a while, plus the album release in November will guarantee a large gain. Right now sales and streaming are still huge and not slowing down as of yet, so I don't think it's gonna hit #1 and fall fast. Just because a song is highly criticized doesn't mean it won't be a hit, I'm pretty sure the "huge backlash" the song is receiving is a big lie, because most people I know like the song and it's selling like fire, so obviously the haters are the minority.

Didn't she release Blank Space very close to the album release date? I think she'll do the same with the 2nd single, mostly because I don't think she can have huge sales only with this single backing up the album. But yeah, I think this song will stick for a while. Radio is raping it and with the mv I imagine streams will be very high for the weeks to come.

I can picture the video but I couldn't remember the name to check I think the chart where it peaked at number 11 was out last year, but it was dated for January of this year. Those pesky Billboard "week ending" dates!

I think that was the point of the song though, it was meant to show that Taylor is different, more dark and give no f**ks anymore. She's shredding her nice girl persona and showing her true colors. I think this song is aimed at Katy, Kim, Kanye and her critics. It actually sounds like someone who's consumed by all the f*cks she gives. I agree - Taylor should just focus on her music and not worry so much about what others say. That is one of the reasons why the Country format is my favorite. The songs are about real life for the most part and there aren't these petty feuds that linger on for months/years. Plus, I think Kanye continues to try and stir the pot to try and remain relevant; Taylor acknowledging it only helps his cause.

Do you think a fully grown woman with an estabilished country/pop career, most likely the biggest pop star at the moment, cares about people like Kim and Kanye? She pretends she cares when in reality she doesn't give a f**k about them or their s**t. The reason why she made all of this was because those people dragged her through the mud and she felt like she needed something different to come out on top of this whole mess, that's why she took advantage of the snakes etc... Do you really think that if she kept her good girl phase of 1989 she would have been as successful this time?

I just looked at the Song of the Summer chart for this year and it's crazy seeing That's What I Like at #2 and Shape Of You at #4. Those songs have been in the Top 10 since February. I don't understand how people aren't sick of those two songs yet.

Do you really think that if she kept her good girl phase of 1989 she would have been as successful this time? Unless you personally know Taylor or a member of her inner circle / management team, I am not sure how you know her exact intentions. I don't follow her too closely, has she given any interviews on this new direction? You may very well be right. But maybe she does care about what Kim/Kanye/others say about her. Maybe she doesn't care but feels that by keeping the feud in the spotlight, it generates buzz and buzz generates views and sales? Maybe she just wants to be successful and her management team advised her to go in this new direction and this wasn't her idea at all. Regarding your question, if this was 1989 part 2 do I think she would be successful? Yes (however, seeing how Katy Perry tanked with her latest effort does give me some pause). Generating controversy helps with the initial success but if the rest of the album is this dark it remains to be seen if this will help or hurt her success over the life of the album.

We all know that Taylor cares. You're thick in the head to think otherwise. This is the woman who made a (terrible) song about a reviewer rightfully giving her a bad review for a performance that she spent the majority of off key ("Mean"). Taylor very much cares.
