I have a feeling Katy dropping the Swish Swish video this week wasn't a "coincidence" either. I think Swish Swish video was always meant to come out this week, tied-in to the VMAs, and it was Taylor who decided to snatch Katy's VMA thunder. Eh, at this point Perry has no real thunder to steal.

I'm thinking low 70s debut for Taylor. That airplay is too massive for it not to reach the top 100 at the very least.
As for Katy, she should re-enter the chart, which is a win for her at this point :(

Typo in the sales figure for the 9/16 Hot 100. hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=308125Saturday, August 26, 2017 TAYLOR'S FIRST "LOOK"Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (Big Machine) had an explosive first day in the marketplace, earning huge streams and setting the stage for a first week in the range of 550-550k in sales alone, an impressive feat in the streaming era. Could the track surpass this projection? Tay-Tay’s biggest first week with a single was in 2012, when “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” scored 623k downloads. The lead single from 1989, “Shake It Off,” bowed with 544k two years later. Stay tuned for more numbers.

550k sales, 70m airplay, 60 million streams is definitely possible for Taylor. 118,611 points.

Now Billboard... www.billboard.com/biz/articles/7942110/taylor-swifts-look-heads-for-half-million-sales-biggest-week-since-adeles-hello?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=twitterTaylor Swift's 'Look' Heads for Half-Million Sales, Biggest Week Since Adele's 'Hello'By Keith Caulfield | August 26, 2017 "Look" has sold more downloads in a single day than any song has sold in a week in the past six months. After only one day on sale, Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" is off to a sizzling start -- and will likely sell a half-million downloads in its first week, according to industry forecasters. On Friday (Aug. 25), the day of the track's commercial release, the song sold a little less than 200,000 downloads in the U.S., according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music. To put that figure in perspective, no song has sold that many copies in a single week in six months -- since Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" moved 200,000 downloads in the week ending Feb. 16 (in the wake of the song's performance on the Feb. 12 Grammy Awards). "Look" should easily debut at No. 1 on the Digital Song Sales chart dated Sept. 16 (reflecting the tracking week ending Aug. 31), garnering the diva her 12th leader on the list. Industry prognosticators suggest the tune could sell a half-million downloads in its first week. If it does sell that many copies, it would earn "Look" the biggest sales week for any song since Adele's "Hello" sold 653,000 downloads in its second week (ending Nov. 5, 2015), following its 1.11 million debut. "Look" is also anticipated to hit the upper reaches of the Sept. 16-dated Billboard Hot 100 chart, which blends airplay, sales and streaming data, after a likely debut on the Sept. 9 list (from just airplay). "Look" is the first single from Swift's upcoming new studio album, Reputation, due out Nov. 10. Swift's last album, 1989, was led by the single "Shake It Off," which bowed with 544,000 downloads sold in its first frame (week ending Aug. 24, 2014).

500k would be a very low drop from Shake it Off's 544k, in a year where no one has even managed 300k. Truly amazing for her.

^Last song to manage more than 300k was Can't Stop the Feeling!'s debut week with 379k. This year's #1 in Digital Song Sales have averaged just over 108k. So, 500k in any given week is just astounding for the current digital sales climate.

Next week is going to be a mess. Lil Uzi Vert, X, and ASAP Mob new songs are getting a lot of streams, besides Taylor. Despacito is #26 on Spotify.

Over 500K just wow!
I'm iffy with her personality now but I love her sales prowess. Hopefully her album will bring eye popping sales again especially in this climate!

So it looks like Taylor's star power has actually increased since Shake It Off. Not only are her sales holding steady, but she's picked up a huge streaming audience to go with that. Could she possibly manage 2 million first week SPS?

Curious to know since she's adding streaming how many points chart wise this first week will be.

How big it will be will surely be helped by the video to be released at the VMAs, especially if she were to perform. Given what kind of reception its lyric video has gotten ... TAYLOR'S FIRST "LOOK"Saturday, August 26, 2017 Taylor Swift’s “Look What You Made Me Do” (Big Machine) had an explosive first day in the marketplace, earning huge streams and setting the stage for a first week in the range of 550-550k in sales alone, an impressive feat in the streaming era. The lead single from 1989, “Shake It Off,” bowed with 544k two years later. The lyric video for "Look" also got a big look, earning 19m YouTube views in 24 hours, a record for lyric videos, breaking the record held by The Chainsmokers f/Coldplay for "Something Just Like This." (As of this writing it's hit almost 26m.) Rather unsurprisingly, it quickly became the #1 trending clip on the video service. It's also Tay's biggest video bow, blowing by the 17m initial views for "Bad Blood."

The fact that her lyric video is doing blockbuster numbers, and the actual music video premiere is in the same week.
Just WOW!

Adele still reigns

Depends on how the radio and streaming slide play into the next chart week; week 16 (and the tie) seems likely but it's still not a done deal. But ain't nobody breaking any records yet.

Funny you mention that, isn't Shape Of You tied with Closer and How Do I Live right now, because I think it has a chance of getting a 33rd week in the top 10 this week. That's one record that'll be broken I'm sure of it.

I wonder how much longevity Tay's new single will have though. The public reception has been abysmal.

Now Kworb's estimate has dropped from 550K to only 308K for Taylor Swift's new song. It's still impressive and will likely give it number one, but a rather steep drop.

There is no way that Taylor will have 500K by the end of the tracking week, I've seen some of the numbers, and it's dropping pretty fast already. I think it's sales might jump back up a little after the video is released though. I'm saying somewhere between 250K-325K, I think 500K is not gonna happen.
