With streaming going up, Youtube still growing and sales getting more irrelevant with each week I'm sure we will get another #1 hit that lasts over 10 weeks soon enough. Right. Streaming has definitely yielded more longevity for songs, so it seems like we'll potentially get more lengthy runs.

I don't know about that. YouTube and streaming will still likely be huge on week 2, and it should have great airplay and sales. Despacito is dying in every category. If Taylor doesn't stay at #1, then I believe Bodak Yellow will take the slot. We'll see if the "Despacito" discount holds next week to go for the 17th week. Sales would drop even more if not. Well it's starting it's 17th week today with a discount, so maybe it will hold up.

I'd love for Despacito to at least break the record and then Taylor can do whatever she wants after that, but it will be for naught I'm afraid :(

T Swift is pretty much the winner already, never deny her fucking power We still have a video on its way and who knows what could go down during the rest of the VMA's night.

Is an official video for sure dropping this week? The VMAs producer denied she is performing, so is there anything from Swift tied to the VMAs?

That song is so dark, I love it. It's like Blank Space on steroids. Though it's very, VERY different. The backlash is already setting in, it'll probably turn off lots of die-hard fans due to it's extremely different sound. But, I see her gaining lots of appreciation for changing up her sound, as it's not typical Taylor. We'll see how sales go, it's #1 on iTunes right now. While I do like the song and this new sound, the lyrics are slightly disturbing. I think she comes across as really bitter and mean. BTW, is this also aimed at Katy Perry? That line about karma can't be a coincidence...

She's shredding her nice girl persona and showing her true colors. I think this song is aimed at Katy, Kim, Kanye and her critics.

Yeah, I'm a fan of Swift's talent, but in no way can anyone claim she doesn't give a f*ck. People who truly don't give a f*ck live their life peacefully and without paying attention to other people. Swift is clearly obsessed with what people say about her.

I think swift will debut next week, and shoot to number one the following week If you mean she might debut low on the chart for the week of September 9th, and then shoot to #1 the week of September 16th, then you may be right.

Speaking of Swish Swish, maybe it could catch a second wind? The video should make it re-enter, no doubt. And keep it there for a few weeks like Bon Appetit, she's also slated to perform the song at the VMA's which could push it on iTunes. The video sent it back into the Top 100.
The real kicker here is airplay, she's needs to start actually promoting the track and getting it played. Something she should of done back in May when it was released, but since she's still beating a dead horse why not start now? Better late than never.
It'd be so funny if Swish Swish and LWYMMD were Top 2.

Aside from the obvious factor of "Taylor Swift's lead single", I'm sure radio was ready for another hit which helped LWYMMD even more. The entire top 10 of the airplay chart feels ancient at this point.

Get ready for the LWYMMD music video tomorrow night. I just read on another site that the video makes it crystal clear who Taylor is referring to in her new single, and it is none other than Kim and Kanye. She apparently goes after them pretty brutally in it.
Anyway that's what I read.

I have a feeling Katy dropping the Swish Swish video this week wasn't a "coincidence" either. I think Swish Swish video was always meant to come out this week, tied-in to the VMAs, and it was Taylor who decided to snatch Katy's VMA thunder.
