I honestly can't all of you complaining that he performed "Rock Your Body." It's one of his most damn successful songs that HIS fans and the GENERAL PUBLIC know him for. Had he left it off, ya'll would've been up here saying how he should've sang it if he didn't want to stir s**t up and that he knew what omitting it would cause controversy and that's why he did it. Also technically that wasn't a hologram. A video of Prince was projected. So, if he had shaded Prince in the past, but has had a good relationship with his estate and wants to honor him and move on... why can't you? WIth that said. It was a very safe performance; I was definitely hoping for a bit more from him, but it was thoroughly enjoyable. Go into other sections besides Fergie because you would’ve seen the overwhelming amount of people telling him that it would NOT be a good idea to perform that song. As much as it is a big hit in his category it is also tied to the incident which he made us all aware of again by not saying the ending line of the chorus. Instead he made a quip that was meant to say, “Hey, all good right?!”

Bruno with his Grammys sweep says hi! Oh, please. Grammys are a joke these days. This year's Grammys was one of the worst in recent memory. And this years Super Bowl Halftime snow was one of the worst in recent memory.

Competent. But so incredibly flat. The whole thing just kept coasting by without a dynamic moment.
The Prince projection/duet was just gross. He is not the artist that needs to be doing that. And seriously, "Rock Your Body?" And then to cut it off when he did, it all just seemed way too deliberate. What an ass.

I thought he did well enough, but it didn't feel like a Superbowl halftime show performance. That was like....an AMA medley for a greatest hits project. I also didn't like the intro, and certain parts of the overall performance were dry. It definitely wasn't the best performance I've seen from him. However, I did like the setlist, and that "Until the End of Time"/"I Would Die 4 U" mashup was nice. And few times he did sing, it sounded decent, for the amount of running around he did.

Duca can you please change the title of this thread? It's honestly offensive to the past good halftime shows.

He's about to get Mortal Kombat "Finished" and doesn't even realize it. I'm here for it. It couldn't happen to a better candidate.

Really have to disagree. Though you seem like one of the people heavily biased over the Jackson situation rather than the performance itself.

Not a very good Halftime Show. What a boring show. JT could of done better with all the tracks he has and he ended up with this. JT's 2013 VMAs Medley was better.

I am LOVING show badly he is being dragged right now on twitter. LOV-ING. I guess this is what happens when you build your whole career using Black artists and throwing them under the bus.

Though you seem like one of the people heavily biased over the Jackson situation rather than the performance itself. And you seem biased against reality. Don’t get it twisted. I’m an objective person. I loved FS/LS. I liked 80% of the songs on the set list. I was an *NSYNC fan. JT can be a great performer. This was not a great showcase. While I wasn’t excited for his halftime show, I was still expecting a high quality show because I know what he can give. Honestly, his VMA Vanguard performance was better than that. I’m not the only one with this opinion. He’s having mixed-to-negative immediate reviews. Bey was better. Bruno was better. Gaga was better. Even Coldplay and Katy were better. You could even make a case for Madonna and BEP.

It doesn't have to be overly huge and grandiose. This is the Super Bowl. Not the tonight show with Jimmy Fallon.

Instead he made a quip that was meant to say, “Hey, all good right?!” Look, we'll agree to disagree. It seems from social media that the general population did not see it as a bad thing and enjoyed it (perhaps even their favorite part of the performance). Again, had he said it or had he not you all would probably be arguing the same thing simply bc of your bias against Justin (warranted or not, that's not the point). I was just commenting on the fact, as someone put it a couple posts bac, that there was simply no way of Justin winning this for some of you -- and that's fine, I just wanted to express my view.

Gonna watch this now and write a few thoughts:
Filthy remains a terrible song, the production still drowns the vocals, not that the lyrics deserve much attention. Bad choice to start.
Again, I don't particularly care anymore about the whole Nipplegate thing, but bringing Rock Your Body for such a low energy performance... he should have at least made it worthwhile.
Señorita and SexyBack are both really good. Neither segment was memorable though.
My Love kicks in and I'm bored already. This just makes Lady Gaga's relatively safe performance last year look so much better.
I love Cry Me a River, which might be a huge reason why I really enjoyed this part. The dancing was much better here.
Suit & Tie remains an overrated, overhyped bore. Until the End of Time? Really? Snooze. Bringing out Beyoncé here would have at least made it memorable, but nah. She could have made the Prince tribute seem a bit more sincere as well.
Mirrors was really good. Can't Stop the Feeling is an obvious crowd-pleaser but I think it would have worked better as the opener while Mirrors would have been a more "epic" ending.
All in all, boring, safe and forgettable. The good parts are nothing we haven't seen before. His VMAs medley from a few years ago was miles better.

I love Señorita, but it was probably the one that needed to go the most (along with much less time for Filthy) and an example of just trying to cram too many songs in.
The BEP performance was mentioned earlier. I think they turned in a weak performance on paper, but the way they segued their setlist masked a significant portion of it. The opposite went on here and there seemed to be too much time wasted going from song to song and not giving certain parts more flash. It needed more moments like the breakdown during CMAR and the Mirrors part.

You know Twitter's going to literally have no impact and he'll likely just get expected boosts in sales like the songs appear to be doing? Short term vs. Long term. I mean...the short term is that certain parts of twitter will do exactly what we knew all along what they were going to do, and the long run is that Justin is going to rake money from his tour and have an album campaign that, while getting respectable statistics, won't leave the same impact as his prior ones. The fact that he could’ve brought out both Jay and Bey but didn’t. 😩 Imagine if the projection was Beyoncé instead with her part on UTEOT .
