I don't mean to sound so obvious, but I'm curious what people would say kendrick's is? Would it be Swimming Pools? or has Humble overtaken it? I really don't know. I actually thought of King Kunta at one point was his signature song, but I think HUMBLE might have taken that slot though. Yeah in my opinion King Kunta is his signature song but most people would probably say HUMBLE now

Drake. He's so f**king legendary. Hotline Bling. Yeah, but that's just one of his newer songs, and he has other great top 2 hits like One Dance and Best I Ever Had.

Yeah, but that's just one of his newer songs, and he has other great top 2 hits like One Dance and Best I Ever Had. Take Care would have to be his signature song for me. A) it's off his best album, B) it was really popular C) it's his best song

Katy Perrys is not Firework. Hers is definitely California Gurls. You are wrong, Katy's signature hit is Firework. She has other ones that are known, but that one is her signature hit. Rihanna is a tie between Umbrella and We Found Love, slightly towards the former probably. Madonna is one that has several at the top close enough to make it tough. You can have more than one signature hit, even if one makes it out in front by a nose.

I Kissed A Girl, California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Roar, and Dark Horse were all bigger than Firework.

I would say Katy's is Firework for sure. I think Madonna's would be Like A Virgin. Rihanna- tie with Umbrella and We Found Love. Whitney would be I Wanna Dance or I Will Always Love You(I'm not entirely sure a signature song can be a remake though) Mariah would be Hero or AIWFCIY.

It's hard to pick between Ed Sheeran's "Shape Of You" and "Thinking Out Loud", - Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance". But i would say "Shape Of You" - "Poker Face".

Katy Perry would be Firework Rihanna would be Umbrella and Britney would be Baby One More Time I still think there's a three way tie for Britney. From her discography: '...Baby One More Time' is her biggest hit 'Oops!...I Did it Again' is the biggest pop culture reference 'Toxic' is by far her biggest recurrent hit.

I was never able to pick one for Taylor.
She has the Love Story - You Belong With Me combo which actually made her a big star. Then WANEGBT-IKYWT which turned her into a worldwide pop star and then her #1s from '1989' like SIO/Blank Space/Bad Blood which established her as arguably the biggest pop artist in the world.

Easily Shake It Off. The best selling WW, most watched, best chart performance on Billboard. It's hard to pick Linkin Park signature song Numb or In The End, Nelly Furtado also, but I think it's Say It Right, and Rihanna of course Umbrella-Love The Way You Lie-We Found Love-Diamonds.

Also, I think when it's hard to pick a signature song, that artist or band don't have one. Artist like Katy, Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor, Sia, Madonna...don't have signature songs because their most popular songs are equally popular, or some song is more popular in Europe, some in America. In my country, La Isla Bonita and Hung Up are the most popular Madonna's songs which is not the case with America and 90% never heard of Papa Don't Preach or Express Yourself.

Fairly certain many of those were bigger on the charts. Especially Dark Horse and California Gurls. E.T. as well (at least had a better performance on the Top 10 if I recall correctly). I think the argument for Firework can come from longevity/memorability/iconicness. Seems kinda weird to reply to this with a cold "you're wrong" since it's not really a matter of fact which song is a "signature" song.

One thing I do, is look at which of an artist's old songs are the most streamed, spun, and purchased *today*, rather than which ones were high on the charts long ago.
Generally, I think that is what should define a "signature" song. And that starts to matter when they have the ability to re-enter on the charts.
I remember being pretty surprised that "Bad Romance" of all songs rejoined the charts after Gaga's halftime show. I was expecting "Poker Face".
Linkin Park is another surprise. "Numb" re-entered higher than "In The End", if I recall correctly. But "In The End" was a massive #1 hit. And "Numb" only peaked at #11. Then Linkin Park actually had a good 2-4 other Top 10's that didn't chart at all. Maybe it had more to do with the subject matter of "Numb" that lends itself better to grieving?
For Justin Timberlake at this year's halftime show, I'm expecting "SexyBack" to re-enter. But if two can re-enter, then I expect it to be SexyBack and "Cry Me A River".
For Katy Perry, "Firework" does indeed appear to be her most listened to song on Spotify from the "Teenage Dream" album. On iTunes, "Roar" and "Dark Horse" are the first two Katy Perry songs to appear when you search her name (with "Fireworks" behind them). Which I believe means that they are the ones being purchased the most at this moment? Not sure.

I always have a hard time with Donna Summer, you could make a strong case for "Love To Love You Baby," "I Feel Love," "Bad Girls," "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff," and "She Works Hard For The Money."

And then we have LWYMMD which, love or hate it, is one of the most iconic songs of the past few years. Based on what? Sure, it debuted at #1, like a number of songs, but it's not even going to last past 20 weeks on the chart. That's the opposite of iconic or memorable. It hasn't been out for more than 5 months, and people have already forgotten about it. Sure, there's a chance that it could end up semi-iconic like "Born This Way", but I'm thinking "Hold It Against Me" is probably more of its legacy. Or whatever Britney song it was that had a similar chart life as "LWYMMD". BTW "Shake It Off" is Taylor's best charting hit, but only time will tell what song is her most remembered.

Matchbox 20 was always tough for me. I feel like most know "Push" and "3am" even though "Bent" and maybe "Unwell" were bigger hits. They close their shows with "Push" but I'd have to give the edge to "3am"
Lifehouse is tough too. At this point I'd say "You and Me" over "Hanging By A Moment" because of its play at weddings.
Train also has "Drops of Jupiter" and "Hey Soul Sister." I dare say that "Hey Soul Sister" has eclipsed DOJ now.

I think "Candle In The Wind" could be that for him. I would say "This Love" could easily be that for them. I could make a case for "Makes Me Wonder" and "One More Night" being also those too. But TL just seems to feel like that song. I thought Moves Like Jagger was their signature song by this point. She Will Be Loved or Sunday Morning are more likely their classics imo
