Thought "Fallen" would have done better. That's my favorite Volbeat song. I remember the first time I heard it, I was like "Who the f**k are these guys, and who's that dude singing?". Killer vocals on a straight up rocker.

Whelp , predictable #1. I guess I can't complain though since it's not a bad song and I honestly dislike HIOTW.

10. Awake and Alive - Skillet Great to see Skillet make the top 10. I hope "monster" does equally well on the next Alt rankdown.
9. Fallen - Volbeat Surely one of their best songs ever. Tho I really don't see a difference between this , a Buckcherry or Pop Evil. They all just as great, and melodic.
8. So Far Away - Avenged Sevenfold Surprised to see this make the top 10. I don't Avenged Sevenfold has ever made the top 10 in one of these.
7. Say You'll Haunt Me - Stone Sour A few of my top 10 picks always make the cut. This is one of Stone Sour's Ultra favorite's of mine.
6. Fix Me - 10 Years Surely one of the best songs I've heard from this band. Don't be fooled by my #54 ranking. There were only about 15 or so songs that I really disliked.
5. You've Seen the Butcher - Deftones I saw this video three times, but I just can't get into that song one bit. It's such an energy absorber. The truth is; the music video helped me put it higher. Girls and Gore was perfect. It just needed a much better song to go along with it.
* I know you guys don't like Lordi, but they have a song called "Chainsaw Buffet"and that Deftones MV would have been perfect for.
4. The Sound of Winter - Bush Truly a great song. It took three rankdowns for this to go top 10.
3. Walk - Foo Fighters Not surprised at all. As far as Foos are concerned I'm up there with all of you quality wise.
2. Help is on the Way - Rise Against Great song. This should have been a top 10 song on the Alt rankdown too.
1. Rope - Foo Fighters Yup. I had the same #1 song for active. It was between this and "All American Nightmare", but I looked to my actual charts to do this rankdown, and "Rope" fared better. Plus this is a truly great song. I'm glad it got #1 again, beacuse it was my #1 song too.

I'll gladly go with those chicks from that Deftones video. We all agree that you have to like a song in order to rank it high. The Deftones don't have many aspects to their songs I can get into. You guys are not going to rank a Hinder, Saving Abel, or Buckcherry, song high because you don't like their music. i don't get that, but I accept it. Same thing with me. I will say that the next two Chevelle songs coming up, were pretty damn awesome. They were first time listens, but this time, I really got into the music.

The Deftones don't have many aspects to their songs I can get into. You guys are not going to rank a Hinder, Saving Abel, or Buckcherry, song high because you don't like their music. Deftones are a billion times better than ANY of those three bands you've mentioned. Their music is at least interesting, Chino's a versatile singer and a great lyricist, and they stand out among most of the band. That's what makes Deftones special amongst all the other active bands. They stand out. You can tell them apart from other bands. That's the problem with active during this period and maybe even now as well (though it's better now than in the past). Hinder, Saving Abel and Buckcherry on the other hand, have terrible vocalists, uninteresting and generic music that is not even enjoyable for the most part, and their lyrics are awful as well, and at times misogynistic. I know some people don't take lyrics as an issue, but even without the awful lyrics, there's really nothing to write home about their songs. Some of Buckcherry's songs are admittedly catchy (as well as Addicted by Saving Abel), and Lips of an Angel is a guilty pleasure of mine, but apart from them, I do not care for these three bands at all. So tell me, what do Hinder, Saving Abel and Buckcherry have than Deftones don't? Don't give me that 'melodic' crap. : p There are many melodic Deftones songs. (e.g. Sextape, Phantom Bride, Entombed, Minerva, etc.) I'd even say You've Seen the Butcher and Diamond Eyes are quite melodic, even more so than Absolute Zero which you'd claim to be melodic.

Alright I know I talk about making a Pop poster ban but I think I might have to extend that

Also while we're at it, I'd say I'd even take DED over these three bands. :p

"Diamond Eyes", absolutely, but not "Butcher". I mean, "Butcher" isn't "Hexagram" or "Korea", but I wouldn't put it in the same melodic atmosphere as "Sextape", "Beauty School", etc.

This is the part of rock where I, and most of you go seperate roads. It has loads to do with the era I grew up in and the music I listened to. To be honest, the three bands I mentioned as well as Nickelback, and many other Post Grunge so called bands have elements of 80's Glam Metal and Hair Metal. Which is coincedently my favorite hard Rock era. "Dark Horse" was even produced by Robert "Mutt Lang" who produced AC/DC, Def Leppard and others. Hinder's "Take It To The Limit" was a straight out ode to that style. "Lips of An Angles"s, Aerosmith like power ballad style is what got me into them in the first place. That would answer why I prefer those bands over the other ones. I was even in a Glam Metal band in the early 90's covering Warrant ,Winger and every other band whose name begins with the letter "W". So that style is forever etched in my heart. So Deftones and other similar bands don't have the screamy melodic choruses with the whoa whoa's and fast paced melodic bass that I prefer. "Absolute Zero" and most Foo Fighter songs do. * That song "Sex Tape" rings a bell, and I recall it being one of the best Deftones songs I've listened to. Probably because of the ballad like style. I'd have to check out the other ones when they appear on the lists. "Diamond Eyes" wasn't too great. And about Chino. I've never complained about his vocals. It's more about the melodies he has to follow, that I can't get into. I even ranked "Crosses" pretty high.

BTW, while previewing those Deftones songs, I can across something called "Hole In The Earth". Some of the guitar works in that have a more Royal Blood vibe to them. Now that's a good song. Why didn't that chart?
